I can't believe another Sunsoft gem has resurfaced like this! It's so cool! I've enjoyed learning more about classic Sunsoft titles last year, and I can say nothing other than I'm a fan now! I wish I had known about their games sooner.
I grew up with this game. I have to ask, you did not really acquire a copy of the NES cart, did you? The prices... Everytime I look, I remember my chewed up box from my old dog and the cart that's now missing and die a little inside.
I feel like I'm taking crazy pills when I hear channels praise this game. Ufouria 2 is a massively oversimplified version of the original, which was already a very simple (and very enjoyable!) Exploration game. The sequel removes any sense of exploration, instead turning a metroidvania into a series of piss-easy linear stages dotted with simple ability gates. EVERY ABILITY is purchased from a vending machine, rather than finding them in the world. Grinding for coins to spend in the Vending Machine is the main action in this game. Not to mention, EVERY SINGLE BOSS in this game has roughly the same level of complexity as its first. The entire game is bafflingly simple, even when turned up to Hard mode. This game is all style, with zero substance. I played it to 100% completion, hoping to find the real game in the endgame, but nope. There's nothing to find here beyond its surface charms. This is painfully padded, fluff with zero difficulty curve. The whole game is an extended tutorial. If you want to play something interesting, challenging & charming, play the original instead.
did buy it now. love it. so many memories with these games. i think the old guys are us who buy this type of games because of memories
Would be nice if they released a collection of all the Ufouria/Hebereke spin-offs. Puzzle games, racing games, etc.
Agreed. At least the original is coming to Switch this month, and there is one spin-off on NSO so maybe the rest will come eventually!

Thanks for reminding me about this one being out!
I'm excited to try this one out! The reveal for this one came out of nowhere and looks delightful.
I am so glad this game is good.
I love the original.
