Certified authentic by Mopar expert David Wise. It has been closely inspected and a 50 page detailed report is included. Verified #s, real T/A, real fender tag. It has been called the most documented T/A in the world. It still includes original window sticker, invoice, fender tag, build sheet, registration, glovebox pouch with filled out warranty booklet and more. It also was a Mopar Muscle magazine feature car.
It was special ordered dealer demo car for Dodge City of Utica. Sold new 4-30-70 to Frank Reile.
Why is a T/A so special? They were a very limited production, high performance car based on Dodge's Trans Am race car. Only 1,411 automatics and 989 4-speeds were ever made. It was only a 1 year production. It's not just a 340 car with a 6 pack and fancy decals slapped on it. The engine blocks were actually unique to this car, built stronger. It also has special heads, modified valve train and 3 holley carbs. The burnt fuel is let out through a low restriction exhaust that exits in front of each rear tire. The rear tires are taller to give clearance to the side exhaust which also gives the car a cool stance. Other features include a 3.55 sure grip rear, upgraded brakes with disc in front, rallye suspension, quick ratio steering and performance tires on 15x7 steel wheels. It also features a light weight fiberglass hood in flat black to eliminate glare to the driver, an air intake scoop and racing pins. Special stripes, emblems, pop up gas cap, racing mirror, blacked out grill and new dove tail spoiler make it look the part. This one was special ordered in a high impact color- Green Go. It is the rarest of all the colors, even rarer than Panther Pink! Of all the Challengers produced in 1970 only 413 were this color.
EXTERIOR: The fit and finishes are amazing. The body is straight as a laser, all the body panels fit square and flush. Every inch of it is smooth, no signs of rust or damage. The fiberglass hood is original and fits really well, many of them had a bow in the middle. The Green Go special high impact color is the rarest color of all, even more rare than Panther Pink! It is polished out like glass. Jambs are painted real nice,, new weatherstrips and window seals. All the decals are an excellent shape. Every piece of chrome and stainless trim is either new or restored like new. The grill is excellent. The front and rear spoilers are original, nor reproduction. The windshield is new, the rest of the glass is very good. Staggered size tires from the factory gives it an aggressive stance. It has reproduction G60s in back and G70s in front and the rallye wheels look new.
INTERIOR: Rare bench seat with bucket seat backs and armrest cushion. I feel like I am sitting in a new car because everything looks pristine. Premium Legendary Interior. Up above the headliner is tight as a drum, visors and mirror are excellent. The dome light works and the shoulder belts are complete. The door panels and all the plastic trim is in excellent shape. New carpet on the floor. The dash pad has been professionally restored. The instrument panel looks like new, nothing is cut or broken. The steering wheel looks new.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The vin # on cowl and core support match the car. Verified correct casting codes, dates and vin # matching engine. Original Holley carbs. Correct appearing distributor, manifolds, breather and alternator. It has original radiator, shroud and 7 blade fan. The motor was completely rebuilt to factory specs using a steel crank, cast rods and Crane Cam. The heads did received a little porting and it was dyno tuned at 385 hp. It is highly detailed, the engine bay is all glossy Green Go. The engine is neatly painted, the air cleaner assembly is all restored. Every component is new looking: reproduction Mopar hoses, Mopar belts, washer bottle, horns, the Mopar battery is bolted down. It has power steering and brakes.

That's a very BAD habit...just saying.
Don't worry, they always get put back in.
If I recall correctly, Dodge called it the "T/A" because Pontiac already owned the name "Trans Am". So, Dodge got creative and called it T/A to reference the Trans Am racing series.
I love that color, I became a fan of the Challenger after seeing a few at a car show in 2009.

Most documented? Its not even a 100% numbers matching TA. I still have a ton of paperwork to this car, including the very last paperwork when i turned in the plates for the car the last time i drove it. I bet who ever owns this car today would love to have the original numbers matching 727 transmission and 8.75 rear end for it. I still have it all in my garage. As well as the original OEM factory locking gas cap for it, and few other original parts to this car. This is not a 2 owner car either. I was the actual 2nd owner of it, and nobody ever documented that, so, so much much for "truthful" documentation. I sure wouldn`t mind talking with the person that owns this car today. I could share ALOT of things about this car that nobody but me, knows. My wife an i would love to have this car back again. I just don`t think that will ever happen though. The car really needs to be restored again, correctly. There`s a ton of bondo filler all the way around the rear wheel wells. They butchered the hood, too. A quick flip is all people are interested in with this car.
Do you know where this car is at today? I would like to find it again. I have SOLID 100% PROOF that i use to own this car for many years. This is NOT a 2 owner car either!
Last time i saw it was up near Albany NY being auctioned off back in September 2020, but it did not sell at the auction, and now i can`t find the car.
I still have ALOT of original parts to this T/A too. There is ALOT of TRUTH information about this car that is NOT being told!

It angers me that there are so many lies being told about this car! But this is not on you folks, you only know what people have told you. My wife an i are trying to get this car back, if we can. Our beloved T/A needs to come back home to us. We fell on very hard times when we were forced to sell it years ago. Trust me when i say that we never wanted to sell this car. But sometimes things just end up happening that you have no control of. We would have NEVER sold this car if we didnt have to. We were even married in this car in 1982 in Liberty North Carolina. This is farrrrr more than just a car to my wife an i. This T/A was our life love an passion for many years we owned it. We DO have plenty of documentation (with VIN numbers) to prove without a doubt that we owned this car. Seems we only get just close enough to it now, and then it slips through our fingers within every time we`ve tracked it down. Thanks for the quick response back to us! I didnt really expect anyone to get back with us about the car, because they usually don`t. It saddens my wife an i that people only care to profit big money from this car. My wife an i will be touch, THANK YOU!!!

It was far cooler back when i use to own this T/A. And yes, i have 100% proof (paperwork) i owned it. My wife an i were even MARRIED in THIS T/A in 1982!
I still have alot of ORIGINAL parts to the car. Bet the new owner would LOVE to get the original transmission & rear end, original locking gas cap back.
