I don't think is a big issue. This product is undergoing testing phase at a testing site and not commercialized yet. They keep improving and correcting like any other products of quality and it's not like these vehicles flooded the whole San Francisco. Exaggerating the seriousness is not news, it's tabloid.
These cars are still much well behaved and less of a nuisance than the human drivers in my country India 😅. Iv ridden one in SF and was so impressed by the tech.
