I just cannot believe how wasteful all these stores are. Why can't they donate them if they are just going to throw them away? I don't understand this. Now I want to dumpster dive because I want to save everything! Love your videos! Thanks for saving these items from going to waste!
i know. it's sickening.but they trash it all cuz they write it off as being damaged or sum othr thing.when they do they get lotsa $$ 4 it.no1 checks on them so they do so.if they donate it it they get nothing.

why dont these companys just put a table at entrance with sign free take what you want instead of throwing it away to landfill this is madness or donate to local charitey shops
I don’t know about America but in Ireland, some companies do donate their product that they’re throwing away but a lot of places can’t. I work in a restaurant and we aren’t allowed to donate our unsold food at the end of the night in case somebody gets sick and we can be sued for it. I’m assuming that’s how a lot of places think. If you give it to someone, it’s your problem but if they take it from the trash then it’s theirs in a company/insurance eyes. if that makes sense.
It's crazy isn't it? I've heard before there's some sort of liability issues if the companies donate stuff but I call B.S. on that. Even if the company doesn't want to donate it you'd think they'd let the employees have it & let them donate it. I guess they're more worried about being sued than getting a tax write-off.
@@JasonLeeIsAGod IF they donate it they will NOT get a full price tax write off...and if they let employees take it employees tend to add extra things into the trash that are NOT trash...so most of them DESTROY and toss...this was pure luck that it wasn't cut up...👍👍👍😊😊😊
@@sneekiepete I've seen the cut up stuff & it's just sad when you think there's some homeless person living on a subway grate that could use a puffy coat, cut up or not. There should be a better immediate answer for all that stuff being tossed. Long term is, of course, not producing or consuming as much but until then it seems like what they're doing is wrong.
@@JasonLeeIsAGod most of us old school divers take items home and repair and donate directly to people in need...yes ...I wish there was a better tax credit given to store's who donate items😭....The amount of FOOD would make you cry...we try and save what we can and donate ..we do also let people know EXACTLY where we get it and they don't care...what makes it hard on the divers job is these videos and diving groups...NOT ONLY do they bring attention to stores then we get New divers that only want to sell stuff and make a mess of the area ..then stores start cutting and locking dumpsters so NOTHING gets donated...it's irritating..😭😭😭
I worked for a major retailer for 25 years all that random stuff that has nothing wrong with it , is stuff nobody wanted to put back where it goes. So they just throw it away. To Lazy. Happens every day. Love y’all.

I thought that too, but probably the only result would be more locking of dumpsters and more 'no trespassing' signs so that nothing could be recycled or reused.

That black sweater from Burlington- if I saw the tag correctly, it’s Kut from the Kloth which is a really nice brand that has some expensive pieces. Their jeans are amazing.
When season changed from Summer to Fall, our local CVS has tons of Flip Flops with the tag, in excellent condition, in the dumpster. We made a killing on eBay from them. CVS & Aldi's are my favorite dumpster diving places (amongst a long list).
I tried that coat on before at Burlington, it was so cozy warm, however, I went with another one instead. It was a Christmas gift for my niece, you are going to love it!
I found a kids Michael Kors little girls winter coat about a month ago in our Burlington dumpster too! It has a tear in the inside of the coat too as well! Easy fix!! I was so excited, just as you guys were 🤗

There is a CVS near me that I LOVE to dive at. I've gotten make up, candy, juice and OTC medications and such (none expired). I need to start checking more locations!

Sometimes the expiration date is actually the shelf life. I usually just look up how much longer you can eat it. I’m so glad there are people out here like you guys. You always donate! I LOVE that gray chunky sweater. The might have stole the little perfume because they were going to the club and needed perfume for their purse. You could take it to a seamstress to fix it. That poncho is so cute too! Do you sell stuff online or in posh mark! Those summit headphones look awesome because it looks like the have the adapter for an iPhone.

I live in Florida. I checked to see if it's legal and it says it is, however if you get caught here in Florida the cops can try to get you for some other nonsense things like trespassing etc if they want to be a jerk about it. I would love to start doing this after I recover from my surgery. I would love to donate.

The smaller bottle of perfume would be easier to conceal. A pro probably could have made off with the larger bottle. Back when I worked retail, we would have either marked the set down, or taken it apart and sold the remainder individually at a reduced price.
They actually could go to Sephora, Ulta, eBay, etc...and repurchase the missing item and sell the complete set at full price! The box & packaging is in good condition!
all that stuff going to the landfills ..that is insane...our landfills r too full just with residents personal trash...thank u DDs for saving our landfills and putting these things to good use

It just shows how much stuff is being manufactured, and how much people, are not buying it's kinda ridiculous and then to just toss it out.

Yea, some states or cities allow it but others lock up dumpsters anytime to prevent a mess later.
