Vicki How is it stealing when the company (or houses that put trash to the curb) has thrown the items into the garbage? They obviously don’t want it, nor intend to keep it seeing as it’s in the garbage.

I work in a department store when we donate items we have to rip labels and tags off clothes so they can't be returned for money it's easier for some stores just to toss it out then rip each tag off then donate it.sad really lots of useful things people can use get tossed into the trash each day and add to the collection of garbage which someone could have been greatful for :(

Right... I've been a diver for well over a decade now and because of all the "publicity" of it and people trashing the area's around it, leaving everything on the ground it's become such a hard thing to do. It's perfectly legal to do but shopping center owners in my area have now put security and police on 24 hour patrol... If you're asked to leave you have to leave because every shopping center is privately owned therefore you can get charged with trespassing now. Stores are replacing regular open cans with locking ones so they can't be accessed. Store employees take extra time to destroy as much as they possibly can. Something that once was so easy and fun to do has now become a waist of time over the past few years...

The cords you can fix and I believe there are even videos on TH-cam on that. The cut/damaged bedding that you leave behind, you can cut up and use as cleaning cloths instead of paper towels. I do that with any old clothes that I would otherwise throw out. Keep up all your great work on saving the planet!!!!

Guys, the reason why they put exs and spray paint is because they don't want YOU selling re selling these products and making a profit. These are their brands and someone might try and return the item to get a refund, inside the shop and say that it was broken or it broke ! These shop items are the property of owners of the dumpsters - for which they leased from a Dumpster company. :( you are damaging the Dumpsters by forging the doors to open.
So don't be disappointed that they have been damaged.. we have no sympathy for you.
You are stealing and re selling. This is A CRIME that you are involved in and you are mentally addicted to keep feeding your thrills and excitement ! This behavior is like a killer and their prize kill. The thrill of it all $$$$

You guys...the salt from the lamps is actual salt, it could be eaten (yeah I know it's in a dumpster, but it is washable and also it's been in the ground for millions of years before this, so spare me any delicate sensibilities about it being gross). If you're not comfortable with that, you can use it for decor, as someone before me suggested, or if you're of a new-agey sort of bent, some of us like to use it as part of ritual baths to release negative energy. It's probably a placebo-effect sort of thing but in my experience, it does help! I have some in a grinder that I keep by my tub.

Yes, there is a recall on the salt lamps. They are known to heat up, and crack. One customer indicated her salt lamp cracked, and caught fire. There was one reported injury when the customer was unplugging the defective lamp, her hand was injured while she was unplugging the lamp. The salt base injured her right hand that caused her hand to receive a deep cut. She was hospitalized, and received 64 stitches on her right hand.

Having watched a lot of your videos now I 'm left wondering why you don't take metal stuff, you would make a fortune in scrap metal. I also think the waste these companies produce with their stock is criminal, what happens when landfill sites are full?

Wow you take a long time at these dumpsters, aren't you afraid of someone catching you? I keep thinking grab as much as you can and put it in your vehicle, I get antsy for you.👍

I’d have still taken those salt lamps and used them as decoration. I thought they were cool looking.

something I don't understand is..why don't dumpster divers already have bags, boxes or containers (from home) on hand beside the dumpster to put their scores in as soon as they take them out of the dumpster? i'm referring to the smaller items, not the bigger heavy items. i'm not being mean (I promise) but it would save a lot of "handling time" by not having to pick items up 2 or 3 times..plus it would already be contained, somewhat organized and like items together. it might mean less time at each dumpster and making more time for more dumpsters. I work as a sewing machine operator in a textile factory and we are on production where we get paid for how many we do. the more we handle our work, the more time it takes and we make less money. we have to figure out the quickest way possible to handle our work. dumpster divers inspire me to do this one day in the near future. keep up the gr8 work!

Dumb ?, but can you be fined or arrested for dumpster diving? What about someone's garbage on the curb, are you allowed to pick thru it and take or is that considered trespassing or stealing since it's right in front of a house??

Just started watching your videos. Not sure if you have ever heard of goo gone. But it is the best stuff for getting permanent marker, sticker residue, gum and all kinds of stains. I always keep a bottle on hand.

For the foam bed topper, cut up to pillow case size and donate to animal shelters. Just a thought.
Animal rescuers would probably do the work.

I know many people must say this, but it is obscene that retailers do this to unwanted stock, why doesn't someone set an example and challenge store policy to destroy goods. As a person who was left to raise three children under five (twenty five years ago), I can only imagine that the people making these decisions have never been in real need. You also have to consider the carbon footprint of all of those goods, l hope that common sense prevails at some point, carry on saving as much as you can, kindest thoughts from the UK x

Blankets, pillows, sheets, etc can be given to homeless persons, animal rescues, humane society. They need them for warmth not looks. Homeless persons here in Kansas need a new blanket every few weeks because they freeze to the ground and tear. Please don't leave them for the land fills. These stores break my heart on what could be given to people in need but no they just trash it and fill up the land fills in the name of profit.

I think it's disgraceful the way our American culture is regarding these businesses throwing away perfectly good products that could be donated to the needy but... what makes it even more disgraceful is they purposely try to destroy it so no one can use it! It makes me not want to do business with any of them and if enough people boycotted them they would hopefully stop wasting and destroying things! I enjoy your videos and I'm so glad that you two donate a lot and try to repair things so they can still be used!

To take off magic marker - Dip a cloth or sponge in rubbing alcohol and dab first around the stain, then directly on it. You should see the ink transfer to the paper towel underneath the stain. Change the paper towel often so that the paper can absorb the color. After the stain is removed, wash the clothing as directed in the washing machine.

Ok on the Spray Paint and the cutting of the items is due to people dumpster diving an getting some of the items and taking them back to the store and getting a refund. Stores lose money. Corporate not put the rule out spray paint and or cut things. Also don't get caught because you can go to Jail. Even tho its trash you can be charged with Theft.

There is a recall and I would not be doing those just leave them in the dumpster I guess nobody was watching them are buying them so they just throw them in the trash and that's a shame because if they didn't want them they could have at least donated items or game to Goodwill or something didn't have to throw those in the trash yeah it's ridiculous how high some calendars are that's what I just got through saying on some stuff you said it's actually what I was thinking if I see something in the dumpster. Is worth saving I always try to get it out if I can even though I'm disabled I still to it because people are so wasteful I hope you don't get in trouble and I feel like you should have brought a bag with you to put some stuff in it would have made it much easier oh my God why would you do that donate it don't break it up I'm sure there wasn't really nothing wrong with it that's just being wasteful you can fix it probably and make it look really nice you got some really nice things thank you for showing me what you got

I find it absolutely disgraceful these stores ruin perfectly good items. Why not donate them to charaties to distribute to poor people or clothing to the homeless it's fucking disgusting they would rather destroy and bury in landfill rather than help other human beings, capatilism at its worst.
