I've had one of my videos unmonetized. It was me sitting on my couch talking about my side effects from the chemotherapy I was on at the time... I was so confused. I asked them to review it and it's monetized again. I barely make anything. It just doesn't make any sense.
I've had some of mine unmonetized too, including one where I was talking about what to expect when becoming widowed. I purposely didn't monetize the videos talking about the loss of my husband, but it spawned ideas for other videos related to that. Apparently talking about the legal ramifications of becoming a widow is still too "tragic" for advertisers. :/

This is basically what happened. It's not TH-cam's fault directly. If the Advertiser says "My Ads should not be on videos about XY" TH-cam can not let play Ads from that Advertiser.

Well, that is how it functions, actually. The advertisers check off what type of videos they are comfortable with being showed with, and that's it. TH-cam has no control over it whatsoever.

I recently thought of an additional way to see this whole disaster: The advertisers are kind of indirectly insulting the audience of the demonetized videos, aka their potential buyers. Because the people who might be their customers at some point are also the people that might have fun watching creators swearing etc. And now the advertisers feel like they are not good enough to be exposed to their ads. So are we as the audience at the end also not good enough for the advertisers? Anyone ever thought of it that way? What are your thoughts, guys?
