- Gameplay videos of the various versions of Pac-Land that were released for a range of computers and consoles during the 1980s and 1990s.
Pac-Land is a sequel to the classic arcade game Pac-Man, and is based on the spin-off cartoon series of the same name. It was originally released in arcades in 1984 and was converted to a range of systems over the following years. It is one of the first side-scrolling platform video games and seems to feature our hero on a mission to reach a fairy at the end of Pac-Land and return home.
Versions of the game in this video are from the arcade original, Amstrad CPC, ZX Spectrum, Nintendo Entertainment System, Commodore Amiga, Commodore 64, Atari Lynx and PC Engine/Turbografx-16.
Some of the scrolling appears a little jerky in the games, although in reality they play a lot smoother (the NES and Commodore 64 versions are especially smooth in terms of scrolling, whereas the Amiga version, which appears smoothest in this video, is actually the jerkiest!). Edits have been made to some of the gameplay to cut out lengthy areas, intermissions, loading times.

My favorite home version would have to be the Turbo Grafx 16.
3:45 This is why I hate the Amstrad port
Forces you to jump when you go down it will just force you to die I don't know that's why you hate that port also the NES I hate the NES
COASTAL CONTROLS ARE VERY BAD YOU NEED TO PLAY ON TWO PLAYER MODE USE TWO PLAYER TO PLAY THE GAME IN ONE PLAYER DOES PAUSE
Amstrad version has limitations. Since the screen doesn't scroll, you can't see what is off screen or not.
I used to LOVE the C64 version back in the late 80's
15:40 pac man is bare feet
Well it’s actually pretty cool that pac land did appear on the atari lynx sothat it actually could compeat against supermarioland on nintendo’s gameboy😁
i think you forgot to update "grammar.jpg" in your save.
Is the fairy in Pac 'n' Roll supposed to be the one you're escorting in this game?
C64, TG-16, and Lynx are my favorites. I don't care for the NES one. The scrolling is fine but it looks lazy... the C64 version truly shames it in both graphics and sound. Amstrad, Spectrum, and MSX (identical to Spectrum) versions are rock bottom. Lack of scrolling ruins them.
the 3rd is MSX
PC Engine seems the closest to the arcade parent with the C64 as a close second.
Considering how much more powerful the PC Engine is to the C64 I would have to say the C64 version is the most impressive.
Atari Lynx Pac-Land is closer than the Pac-Land C64 conversion/port
Yes- PC Engine, C64 and AtariLynx are definitely the best versions of this classic platformer.
I was disappointed by the NES version
NES having controls like that makes the game worse
Let’s be real
The nes is just bad
C64 > NES
