Good explanation of creating the bubble mixture. I'd not heard of waiting overnight before using it. The camera's max sync speed should be listed in the camera manual. You also need to be shooting in Manual mode. The bigger the diffused light source, the better and getting the light close is very important. Gently blowing on the bubble with the straw can produce interesting swirl and eddy patterns. Very good instructions and demonstration.

This way is ok for starters but the problem with such a large bubble is the reflection of the diffuser, a smaller container is better but you then need a longer lens and maybe an extension tube or a macro lens.
