I thought Aliyah Boston looked more fit than ever. If she runs she will get the ball. The short pick and roll gets her a ton of 15 to 12 foot jumpers and when the defense closes Aliyah will go to the hoop. Huge upside.
You can't coach speed and AB has none. She is not a good match for CC imo. She has been a 14 ppg player her entire career including college. She couldn't even defend CC at the rim 2 years ago in the final 4.
I think like you on Boston. She did show up slow at the beginning of the 2024 season. But she didn't play in the off season she was doing commentary and that was her downfall. There are just not going to be a lot of 6'5" bigs that can sprint up and down the court that plays as many minutes that AB does. She is young and just like the rest of the team she is learning how to adapt to the new Fever style. Her strength will only get stronger under the hoop, and as long as she is in good cardio shape to start the season she will have a great 2025.

Horston is worth a look with Loyd being traded. Assuming they don't replace her with another high volume guard, Horston will get a lot more opportunities.
Wonderful analysis Hunter! Totally agree regarding Nyara. Sandy needs to give her 20 minutes a game. Her energy, defense and movement impacted Game 5. More minutes for Nyara helps JJ stay fresh over the course of a long season.

Cardoso deserves so much more than she received last year. I think this year will be different with Weatherspoon gone and a decent coach prepping that squad.
Cardoso is going to make a bigger leap this year. She's also a good passer and a better defender. I think she'll take more jumpers as well, she's looked good shooting in China. Her biggest issues were foul trouble (defending straight up) and rushing her shots in the post. These are discipline issues that she's getting reps on. Marsh will help a lot as well.
I dont turst Mystics ability to draft & develop player, i hope Edwards moves if they draft players who play her position from this draft class, she is good enough and will be playing good minutes on other teams in the league, even if its 15-20min of the bench.

I think so! The finishing development will be huge for her. It’s tough to imagine her being a Top 5 center in the W in the class of A’ja, JJ, Ezi, Alanna, Aliyah, but it wouldn’t shock me if she’s not far from the player BG is esp with her on the decline

Aliyah Boston is already a Top Ten Player in the WNBA. But guess what, her NUMBERS won't go up because of CC. That's right, since the FANDOM of CC want her to have all the BEST stats, well that will take away from her Teammates. And if Kelsey Mitchell keeps putting up the same numbers she has over the last 5 years, 18 plus average points a game, no Way no How Boston Points per Game can go up. So that's at least 2 Players working against her Points average. Boston averaged around 9 rebounds last year, so I don't see that going up either. And I certainly don't see her assists numbers rising. Boston is a elite Defender and she is NOT going to be any Better then she was last year. Pace is not the issue. Also, the Fever are going to get a GREAT player in the upcoming draft and or get a FREE agent, which again, will take away from Boston's overall numbers. So again, her NUMBERS will not go UP as long as she plays for the FEVER as they are currently constructed. And again, Bostin is already, a Top TEN WNBA player.

LSU put her at Center and the Sky put her at power forward but that’s the only years she’s been a post player, she was versatile enough to switch position and become a Champion but remember she’s just 165lbs at 6’3. She will get back to working on the skills she use to have the ones that Kim Mulkey didn’t let her do and I’m all for it.

Edwards would not make the first Round of this year's draft and if she did, the GM that drafted her should be fired. I was Shocked that she was DRAFTED that high. Edwards was fortunate enough to get decent minutes this last WNBA season. Most Rookies are starved for minutes. I really don't see her improving all that much this year nor the years to come. In fact, with all the incoming Talent from College over the next several years, she might be lucky to keep her Starting Job.
Stephanie White it’s extremely overrated as a coach, Aaliyah Edwards was supposed to be able to shoot that’s the reason Kurt supposed to have picked her over the Hometown girl Angel Reese, if she’s can’t shoot that decision looks even worse I guess now we know why he was fired

Yup, i have to agree. She’s a sweet lady. Lumbers more than sprints..just not a good match of styles with Mitchell, Clark and Hull.

If Angel Reese was averaging 13 and 13. If she goes to 18 and 13 she will probably be all WNBA so she’s probably the most likely to be All WNBA
