Good Steve. Hope you’re well 😊 Not that all your other videos aren’t interesting but Old Rusty is the most waited for video on your TH-cam channel 👍🏻 Not only are you restoring this old truck but you’re telling a story about it too. Fantastic Steve 🤩🏴
FINALLY, old Rusty the star of the show! Its like having butter cooked lobster and caviar for dinner.Lol😁 You can check for some other tell, tell signs of military specification like the type of hitch for a trailer, the body front board. The round roof cutout for a machinegun which could be patched up later, although I am not sure the Wehrmacht used this widely. Many Opel Blitzs, the mainstay of the Wehrmacht don't have that, it was more in Allied trucks. Some parts would have been changed as it was put in civilian service through these decades. I am surprised the fuel tank is on the inside. The military would actually want the fuel tank on the outside - to provide some protection for the soldiers from any internal fire from bullets or shrapnel attack. But, towards 1944-45 a lot of civilian equipment was pressed into military service.
Hey Steve Great tutorial on this, like others I am pleased to see Old Rusty again. Take care of Yourself 😊 Edit; You have so many talents, always with interesting videos.
Thank you so much, I've been waiting so long to see another Ol Rusty episode. We share many interests but part when you divert into race cars. Although I found the building of the race car seat to be quite interesting, race cars in general are just cars driving in circles at high speed. Nevertheless, I envy your many talents and rewards of your active life.
@@D3Sshooter I was being "Coddington cute" as Boyd's look was to dress all seams and welds and make the car look like a full size plastic model. But as it is your only visible weld, you could put a bead of bondo with a Popsicle stick or tongue depressor and keep the appearance of a factory stamping. Or not.
I have been watching you for some time and you always impress me not as some hobbyist but as a professional with some background in doing these things. I wish you had a younger audience, this is stuff that young people could benefit from learning. What is your profession background and education if you don't mind my asking?
Thank you, well the original ( as far as I can tell) is somewhat the same... of course , I can still do some things on the edges.. unless you mean the bends
