I've been using the pathfinder canteen kit for several months now and love it. The handle on the cup makes it my favorite camp cup. I bought the kit from the Pathfinder Shop, comes with alot of little extras. Great kit and another great video!
Backpacking 🎒with A canteen, cup and the canteen stove is the way to go ...Even if you use other types of stoves and fuel....With this , It gives you A back up plan ..
Enjoy your vids. Purchased the whole canteen cook kit from path finder school. One thing i didnt hear you discuss is the way the cup handle extends down like a third leg of a tripid for more stablity of the cup when sitting. I also purchased the helikon tex bag and love it. Thanks
I looked at the Lost Wild Grill at 7 ounces and it is a really nice grill. I pack ultralight and weight is important , I went lighter with the stainless steel Blase Bushcraft grill at 4 ounces.
Jeez! How long have you been holding onto that film canister?! And thank you for suggesting the Hot LIps! Great addition to any camp cup! I can't tell you how much I have learned from your videos! Bill Doyle
Is the canteen shop out of business .I can never get them online .. I much prefer the long handle .I can stick my knife through the slot . And pick it up
I much prefer the butterfly handles. I ordered the canteen cup you are using from Pathfinder Store. First use in the field and the handle fell off as I was cleaning it. The little hinge pin fell out into the high grass and I couldn't find it. Pathfinder stood by it and sent another one. But now I have to bring along some wire....just in case. I don't enjoy doubting my equipment. I want to feel confident. With the butterfly....no such worries. Great design on the pathfinder......but it has to work each/every time.
Fantastic setup! Thanks for sharing. I have the Nalgene Oasis and a GSI ss cup for it that I keep on my hip for hiking in the Macpedition canteen pouch. Still need a lid for my canteen but this setup looks awesome. That grill is definitely on my list! Would the pathfinder canteen lid fit the military issued canteen?
I waited a long time to order his cup lid, thinking they would fix problem with fitting cups. Guess they didn’t, even though they say fits 99% cups, doesn’t fit my USGI cups at all. 1980s and 1945.
Super nice kit you have there!!!! I just got the complete set including the bottle bag from the Pathfinder store.. mine has the round stainless steel bottle and round components. Ha NYU’s Ed it yet but looks to be a pretty nice kit as well. Can’t wait to get out and use it..😃 Thank you for another great vid brother..!! 👍
love that kit...gotta look I to it. question...what/who/ where did you get your Ferro rod. it's all shinny m am I missing something here. thanks. great vid as usual. Really like these reviews. thumbs up
I have the Nalgene Oasis canteen and I use it with my 1965 US Army canteen cup and it fits well. How well does the Nalgene canteen fit the Pathfinder cup? I'm thinking of upgrading. I like your videos. You just got yourself another subscriber.
Nice review! I have always wondered your input on this kit compared to the heavy cover. It would be interesting to see if the Helikon-Tex Essential kit-bag canteen carrier would be a good choice for this kit as an alternative to the very expensive mother canteen carrier. Any thoughts on this?
Ey Prepared Wanderer! thx for the excellent review. About that cup handle, those cuttings looks like they are meant for something more than just putting your spoon thru, do you, or any1 know why its designed like that? THX man! :)
Nice man, great kit. I am partial to the GI sets myself, check mine out. I always carry gloves with me to help with the heat of the butterfly handles on the GI cups. I subbed...
I got one of these today. I like the bottle but the cup is disappointingly flimsy and thin steel. Not as robust as the gi cup. I feel like I can crush it. It's a shame the bottle isn't compatible with any other canteen cup.
The canteen potstand is totally useless. I could never use it right, it just sucks and is totally unhandy for a twigfire. I use it upside down with a homemade potstand for my alcohol burner instead.
I also use it for my alcohol stove. But, just try putting the alcohol stove under the grill/pot stand with your pot/canteen cup on it in the traditional way. Works great. I believe the pot stand is really meant to put over hot coals as its main use. Not essentially as a twig stove. I agree, though, unless your using all fat wood as a twig stove it would suck!
This guy belches on camera and not only does he not edit the video, he doesn't even say "excuse me". No matter what the video is about you should show some respect.
thanks for the tip on the snowpeak hotlips
Nothing beats the stainless military cup and a canteen shop stove that they don’t make anymore. Built like a tank

+Jim Leighty the helikon Tex kit bag is excellent. I handled one and it's a great alternative to the centerline systems carrier
Thanks alot! The satchel looked so nice I was hoping the kit bag would be as well!
Good info. Thank you.
+Jim Ferebee thanks sir
The hash brown needs ketchup and hot sauce.

Why are all the outdoor noobs using background music? Kills the natural music of the outdoors.

+Dodger Bushcraft I disagree the cup feels just fine. Very sturdy.

I love that grill. Did you make it?
