We've always said to notify neighbors if you have a shelter so they can come check on you after a storm, and as far as water goes you've got to make sure it is installed in an appropriate location that doesn't flood
I build shelters very similar to this, I'm not sure about these guys, but the doors we build weigh about 80-100 pounds and are built with ballistic material and wood along with the fiberglass, they're almost impossible to break
5 years now no installation!!! Thousands on a deposit and not a inch of dirt moved. Make sure it is in writing that you can get a refund up to installation. Look at the agreement you sign mine said no refund and as it says I haven’t gotten a refund and 5 years later I still haven’t gotten a shelter . So what do you think if shelter floats out of ground or anything else? How long before they make it right BE WARNED

Okay but what about water entering the underground shelter? Or what if a structure fell unto the door?

I’m not sure I’d be ok with a fiberglass lid…. I mean am I wrong???

One thing I see problem with above ground shelters..cab the door handle handle direct hits from say railroad tie hitting it from insane speeds?
That's why the better above ground shelters have a second lock on the inside as a fail safe.
Yeah

I don't know which dealer you got yours from but we always make it right, I help manufacturer them. And they are sent to dealers.
Older people can't "climb down". Buy above ground.
