+Our Lord and Saviour Nicolas Cage That would be great, but that's essentially the point of vaporwave. Since, arguably, it's a commentary on consumerism--look at all the vaporwave memes and aesthetic available online-- it is essential to maintain anonymity and pass something as original though it's obviously been sampled. the same goes for most other music, especially in jazz. If you take a tune like "Lady Bird" by Tadd Dameron and "Half Nelson" by Miles Davis, you'll hear that the changes are basically the same with the melody being the only thing changed. Same goes for most baroque and classical music. In the present, it has become sampling.
I mean, I love this song, I just wish they'd been more original with mixing around their samples. I shouldn't be able to go to the original song and be able to spot how ridiculously similar they are.If you're going to sample a song, turn it into something new. Don't just slap on some filters and call it a day.The only song I've seen in this genre do that (as far as I'm aware) is II Teneki by VANTAGE. Or for a vaporwave example, 花の専門店 from Macintosh Plus.
This is a little off-topic, but that's one hell of a name haha. I kind of agree though I am on the fence about it. There were quite a few occasions where there'd be people asking for the original song and I'd say and my comment would get erased within an hour. I'm not entirely sure what the big secret is. I'm of the mind people should be able to enjoy the source material as well. I enjoy sampled work, especially when mixed well. But I think that's the nature of the beast of this particular genre and others. I will say this though; I cannot do what they do. So bravo to them, bringing old, but really great, and sometimes obscure, songs to light to be heard, even if it's just a little altered.
I'm leaving for a 20 hour road trip in a couple of hours, it might eat my Data up but I think I'll listen to this when we go through a city late at night.

This song got me into Future Funk back in July 2018. I listened to Future Funk and Vaporwave before in 2017-2018 but this song was the beginning of my Future Funk obsession.
idk why but this reminds me of young love, like when you wander the streets at night with your significant other and you feel secure? fuck it- i'm writing something based off of this song
I was brought to this song, through a couple's video of their vacation in Japan.. I remember being depressed, and stoney bologna literally a few years ago.. I remember missing Japan bad, but feeling so trapped in life. I felt that life was flying by, and I didn't know how to make the moves that I wanted to. I could see me messing up, being comfortable, being afraid, and not chasing my dreams; But I did not know how to stop it.. Then one day, I came across this video Stoned.. and saw this girl literally chasing an hourglass, it was one of the scariest thing ever, and broke my heart.. After that I ran to my room, nearly had a panic attack, and impulsively brought a flight to Japan.. When the time to depart my home came, I promised to myself that I would never return to Japan unless it was for a year or more.. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to be moving to Japan in August Indefinitely! どうもありがとう
Yuu is willing to chase time as long as she needs to even if it means she gets a chance to be loved by Toshio. Being a magical girl was nice at first, she got all the love and attention from the boy of her dreams. But then she realized that she couldn't be magical all the time, and that he was not the same way to the real her. She started to hate being a magical girl, and that even though she had to save the world, she hated being magical because he wasn't the same and it made it harder for her to love him. But she wanted to believe that someday she could show him her true identity and didn't give up. That is why the Japanese translation is "Believing in Ourselves"
A gif that perfectly represents the mindset of an addict. You're chasing that blissful time from the past but can never re-capture it. You idolize it through rose-colored glasses of nostalgia when in reality it kinda sucked. Vaporwave/Future Funk is like that, too. Explains why I used to listen to it while getting drunk. I'm a sober man now, but Vaporwave/Future Funk is still with me. Definitely the more positive of the two. Plus, Vaporwave/Future Funk is often more enjoyable than the original material imo.
Cindy, you really were a special gift. Angelic in Japanese and English. We lost you far too soon. And just like Angel touch, your heavenly voice will live on. Thank you. 🖤🖤
Vaporware has been my couping mechanisms for a long time, I've lost so much, friends, family and the love of my life, i miss them every day, i miss her so much, and i possibly lost myself somewhere in between the lines. Everyone leaves, but music never does.
this song is like a big, warm, fluffy blanket that weighs nothing falling on to your head slowly and then someone hugs you while you're under the blanket
I've been looking for this genre for a long time, I just didn't know it. The music, the classic vibes, the happy beats, the aesthetics of vintage anime with it... I mean it just makes me so damn happy. This stuff is the best. Is it because it takes us back to another time? I just want to game out to some N64 on this shit.

Man, this song hits like a banger more than it did for me in 2021. Back then Brazil was hitting the records of 4000 daily deaths of Covid, and my family lost two close friends within two weeks. As far as I recall, this song is a love letter to her daughter before her mother passed away. This brought me to the realisation of the unavoidable fate of death, but its also soothing. The big and the small problems are like waves: you cannot avoid them, but they will strike differently depending on how you position yourself. The singer chose to lean back and relax. Time has passed and I matured through love an pain. As we say where I come from, if you do not die after the problem strikes you only become stronger. My family is also from Hungary and Russia, and nowadays I study in the Netherlands and I feel much more emotionally mature. Make sure to have some high standard future funk like this when the problems come by. Just dance through the danger.
