The two Laudrups outshined the braxillians technically in that match. It wasnt enough unfortunately. Rivaldo later said that Denmark and The Netherlands were the two toughest opponents they met. And yes the national team we had 12 years later was horrible.

Back in the 90s many African countries had so many world class talents but the western world just weren't exposed to how good they were; it added an element of surprise and intrigue to the world's game. It brought an interesting flair to football with African fans and new culture being accepted into the global consciousness. Now a lot of the 'big' African countries have squads filled with European developed players who have big egos and a primadonna spoiled attitude like their European and South American counterparts. When I catch AFCON matches I see rich spoiled millionaires and a lack of the heart of gold African players brought to the game. It's a shame :(
