I’m SO excited to read Stalking Jack The Ripper! I love books with a Halloween/spooky vibe, so it was interesting to know which ones you’re planning on reading soon :) x
Love your channel so much! You seem such a sweet and nice person :) And I finally followed your recommendations and bought the Six of Crows duology and Aristotle & Dante, I'm so excited to read them! 💕
I just finished the night circus, wasn't sure if I was going to like it, but I did!

i think *miss peregrine's house for peculiar children* could be great for halloween too. actually i've read the first book maybe two years ago so i think now its the time for reading the second book
I've had a lot of fun decorating for halloween this year too. Love your spider pillow!! I'm hoping to read Welcome to Nightvale, Wicked, or Dracula this month.
Hannah, you are just my favorite booktuber! Haven’t been able to read these past couple months because I have been studying for a licensing exam. As soon as I finished I hopped on TH-cam to check out your recommendations :) thanks for being you!
You are so pretty! That's a really cool stack. I probably won't be able to read any of them this month. I have a mountain of books to read. And a pile of Halloween books from last year I did not read. I love how Halloweeny you get. It boost my spirits up. Keep up the good work.
I wanted to read 13 books this October: -City of Ashes -City of Glass -Dracula -The Woman in White -By The Pricking Of My Thumbs -The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes -It -The Invention of Murder -Good Omens -A Discovery of Witches -Stalking Jack the Ripper -Geekerella -Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone But I keep wanting to add more to that list after watching everyone's Spooky Book Recs - especially Night Film, that looks so so good 🙈
That spider is too dang adorable, haha. I’m really excited about Whichwood! Also, I just finished Stalking Jack The Ripper and it was fantastic! Hope you enjoy it!
Omg Stalking Jack the Ripper is the perfect Halloween mystery murder book to read! The second book, Hunting Prince Dracula is already out, I believe and I'm so excited for it! Also the Mara Dyer trilogy is the scariest in my opinion because the writing is so beautifully detailed and it just gets under your skin. I enjoyed the trilogy so much and I hope you do too! :)
Hey I just came up with this book tag, but I don't have a booktube channel or a bookblog or a bookstagram. I would really like it if you did this book tag, it's called The Period Book Tag and the questions are these: The Period Book tag: 1. The unexpected period: A book that caught you by surprise. 2. The emotional period: A book that made you really emotional. 3. The messy period: A book that left a mark. 4. Cramps: A book that was painful to read. 5. Cravings: A book that made you crave something (romance, friendship, food, etc…). 6. Period products: A book you never want to read again. 7. The BLOODY period: The reddest book you own. 8. Heating pad: A book that brought you comfort. 9. The 2-day period: A book that you finished faster that you would have thought. 10. The late period: A book on your TBR that has been there for way too long. 11. The synchronised period: Tag (and synchronise with) your friends! Hope you enjoy!!
Your Halloween decorations are so cute!! Also, good luck with school (I have a few friends at UCB, they're so stressed lol). I'm planning to read The Invisible Library and Tower of Dawn.
Awww man. I wish we'd gotten Whichwood in October. You're so right it sounds like such a Halloween-y book. Middle grade gets all the best Halloween books, imo :P. Jane Steele sounds so cool o_o especially because I love Jane Eyre. Also that cover is SO Halloween. Thanks for the recommendations! I want more books to get into the Halloween spirit~
I read The Dreadful Tale of Prosper Redding and absolutely loved that one. It was a quick read too. I also read Stalking Jack the Ripper and didn't like that one as much as I was hoping I would. I did purchase the sequel though and am excited to read that one. I keep hearing so many good things about Night Film and I definitely need to pick that one up!
I'm really excited to read some spooky books this month! I've just finished The Shining by Stephen King (it was great) and I'm planing to read Dracula and Frankenstein (for some more classics), six of crows and hopefully Stalking Jack the Ripper if I can find it in a library (I don't have $20 to buy it with atm)
I just wanted to thank you for recommending the book The Night Circus. I finished the book last week, and I couldn't stop thinking about how great it was. Although, I do wish the ending was more detailed, I still loved every part of the book. Thank you!
I love your videos, this was filled with such good recommendations! I love your videos btw, and I'm so happy you've expanded your reading past YA, I feel the same way now that I'm getting a bit older and reading more types of books.
Stalking Jack the Ripper was so good!!! Her next book in the series, Hunting Prince Dracula, is on my October TBR. Also I plan to finish the short-story collection Slasher Boys and Monster Girls, Helter Skelter by Vincent Bugliosi, and You by Caroline Kepnes. Not a lot of books, but I've heard such good things about all of them!
deniz reads I no spider ok don’t wrong spake ok how u all Cristina gl all ready boy friends have became other on need so how many need Cristina gl Boyfriend I do no u world about.on % all ready have he kissed 80% do it he how gl u Cristina very bad gl until day night using Boyfriend after new on wanted how Cristina tell actually my movement broken ready this way
I didn't know Mackenzie Lee did a Frankenstein retelling!! I just finished listening to the audiobook of Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue and loved it so much, I'm so excited about This Monstrous Thing! Whee!
Omg in high school I loved reading the Mara Dyer series!! I still haven't read the third one because I'm not sure if as an adult I'll like it as much as I did years back, but I hope you enjoy them! :)
Great video, Hannah! 😍 I hope you will enjoy all of the books you picked out to read this month. ❤ I am hoping to read The Grip of It by Jac Jemc, which is a Horror book set in a haunted house (🤤), and The Library of Souls by Richard Denney, which is a Horror book for the middle-grade set, I think (🤤). Other books on my October TBR that may or may not be spooky include Room of Shadows by Ronald Kidd, Blood Rites by Jim Butcher, and The Spider [shudder] by Jennifer Estep. The titles are spooky, but I'll have to see about the stories. 🙄
I'm really interested to hear your thoughts on the Mara Dyer trilogy! It'll be interesting to see a perspective that didn't read them as they were coming out :)
I had the same with the Mara Dyer trilogy. Then I borrowed the first book from the library, and I really enjoyed it. It was a super quick read. I reserved the second book, so I might also read it this month :)
I am reading the ACOTAR series, but for more Halloween-ie type books I have the Six of Crows duology, A Monster Calls, Illuminae and Gemina THE NIGHT CIRCUS (which I am reading because you love it so much) and The Hearts We Sold.
My TBR for October : Sleepy Hollow- (read this week ) Night Circus ( which i know you love) Cinder- (cinderella meets cyborg) Agatha Christie- A Body in the Library - (who doesn't love Agatha Christie) Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar children Three Dark Crowns The Girl Who Knew Too Much- Amanda Quick (historical fiction mystery) The Raven- Edgar Allen Poe (My husband and I read this out-loud while carving pumpkins) Also for Halloween we love to play Nightmare Before Christmas while we help the kids carve their pumpkins and other classics like Hocus Pocus and Casper. We also have a family movie list during October while mom has her TBR list.
Stalking Jack the Ripper, is my favorite and its apart of the series. I think you would love it the best because you like criminal minds and Audrey Rose, main female lead is studying forensic science. She wants to be a doctor of dead bodies
ingrid3578 I did finally read hidden bodies and I do agree. It's not as good. But I hated more that I will have to wait to find out what happens next. She won't be writing another one for along time.
Madness burns by stevie kopas and the undesirable encounter by toby Torrance both ebooks I read in the last year. The first one is a series of short stories, the second a full length novel. Trust me they are both worth a read if you fancy a scare!)

I can honestly say that is the cutest spider I have ever seen haha. I had fun reading The Dreadful Tale of Prosper Redding and it was darker than i thought it would be since it’s a middle grade.
I read night film in just three days and greatly enjoyed it. I would recommend House of Leaves as it is the only book that has not let me sleep at all. Also I've read Doll Bones by Holy Black and finally reading The night circus right now.
I just read Stalking Jack the Ripper and I think you're going to love it! Lots of plot twists and I love the main character! Best of luck and I hope you like it!! P.S. I really love your channel! 💞
You should read Lockwood and Co. It’s sooooooo good!! I’m finishing some books left over from Sept (Little Women) but then I’m going to read two Lois Lowry books (Gossemer and Gathering Blue). Gosh I could just hear you talk about books for hours. Every time I do I get so excited even though I probably don’t even have a copy of the book in the first place 😂
I really liked the Unbecoming of Mara Dyer and the second one but got to the third and couldn't remember what happened so I'm gonna have to re read them all again to be able to read the third😂 Stalking Jack the Ripper has intrigued me since I first heard the title and I'm absolutely dying to read them so I might after I finish Six of Crows!
Night Film is such a good one that is just the right amount unsettling! You should for sure save it for the 31st. I'm also going to be reading Stalking Jack the Ripper this month.
strongly recommend reading the Lockwood And Co series by Jonathon Stroud. Dunno if a little out of your age range (I'm a little out of target age but still LOVE these books) amazing writing and just so fun to read!
Jane Steele sounds so dope! I thought Jane Eyre was eerie (lol eyre-ee) as hickty heck so a reworking where the main character is a serial killer sounds like maybe the best thing ever???
I eagerly await your thoughts on Night Film. For years I've heard that it's one of the best books a lot of people have ever read, it's so unique and suspenseful, one of the most special books they've ever read etc. I was so excited to read it. Never been more sure I was going to love a book. And I absolutely hated it lmao. You and I have had a lot of similar thoughts on certain books so as much as I would like you to like it, I would at least feel a little validated if you have some of the same problems I did lol
currently reading The Dreadful Tale of Prosper Redding and liking it so far. for October i also plan on reading: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince A Conjuring of Light the second book in the Raven cycle
October is awesome and all but I'm in my 4th year of college and I have so many group projects, tests, presentations...it's driving me insaneeee! 😂 I have a bunch of spooky books I want to read before Halloween but I probably won't...these are simultaneously the best and worst years of my life 😂 Booktube helps a lot tho! Thank You 😍😍
This is a recommendation, not a plan, but _Wonders of the Invisible World_ by Christopher Barzak would make an awesome Halloween read. It's better to not know much about the plot before you read it, but I will say it's a paranormal book with a really creepy and mysterious vibe to it. It's about a boy called Aidan Lockwood whose life changes irrevocably when his best childhood friend, Jarrod, returns to their hometown.
Here in the Netherlands we don't even celebrate Halloween all that much, but this video makes me SO EXCITED for it anyway ^^
Books Michelle I feel you in my country we don't celebrate Halloween too 😢😢
Same here in Germany. I just love all the halloween videos, series and movies! 🙈
"The only spider I will ever truly love." I feel that XD

I put the Night Circus on my October tbr this month :)
Night Film is such a good one that is just the right amount unsettling! You should for sure save it for the 31st. I'm also going to be reading Stalking Jack the Ripper this month.
I've read the Little Red Riding Hood tale from "Pretty Monsters" and it was definitely pretty spooky. I hope you enjoy!
strongly recommend reading the Lockwood And Co series by Jonathon Stroud.
Love your cute spider pillow...

Even though I don't celebrate Halloween I'm still planning to reread Misery, I miss Annie Wilkes so much.
Thank You 😍😍
These books are all so perfect for spooky October and Halloween, I hope you loved them.
Stalking Jack the Ripper's tagline, 'I was the girl that fell in love with Jack the Ripper' is Sanctuary aka one of my favourite shows ever.
This is a recommendation, not a plan, but _Wonders of the Invisible World_ by Christopher Barzak would make an awesome Halloween read. It's better to not know much about the plot before you read it, but I will say it's a paranormal book with a really creepy and mysterious vibe to it.
