Thanks! This mod worked better for me than many others I tried.

Hi, thanks for the mod, it works really well. Only con is that RDT is mandatory now (spray of water), but retention is pretty much gone ^_^

The best thing is retention nearly 0, after 2kg bean, I opened the chamber, but it’s surprisingly clean :)

My DF64 arrives today and I’ll be trying this. I’m also thinking that I might remove the flaps entirely and overlay a mesh/sieve type screen. I RDT as a matter of course anyway. My main concern would be re-grinding. I don’t mind fines as a matter of course, but the clogging and the Re grinding are what I’m trying to avoid. Thanks for this. Looking forward to trying it.

Has anyone ever considered adapting (or removing) the flap and then backing the entire thing with a tiny rectangle of #5 or #6 stainless steel mesh? Basically turn the declumper into a sieve? Just a thought…I may try it. I ordered some spare declumpers with my DF64 specifically in order to experiment.

Please let us know how you go mate. On paper it sounds like a good idea

      Hi, have you tried this?

The problem is much like dust in a filter, these can clog pretty easily, especially with static, it may work with two layers and much bellowing, something like two separate meshes of different shapes plus bellowing might work nicely for this though. Not sure this would reduce retention without mandatory RDT + bellowing anyway, but with the right sizes and maybe a slight tilt worth a try!

Can I completely remove the declumper? With the relatively small dose, I don't think there's a need to use the declumper don't you think so?

Hey how does it goes after you did that? Does it cause another problem? Retention?

Do you need to re-align the burrs after doing it?

In some case. Normally I don’t remove 3 springs if the burr aligned already to make sure that the alignment is unchange

From what I’ve read, because the base actually screws into the motor, if you’re not careful removing/replacing the screws, one can slightly shift the motor causing the burrs to go out of alignment.

@@zenadventurer69 it’s the same thing that I’ve got from doing a lot of open/close. Better to check again the alignment, also need to tightening very carefully 2 bolts. I’ve cutted the front panel now, so I don’t need to open the bottom piece each time need to clean the chute
