Dave Thomas was from West Auckland and his mother was a dinner lady at my school Nd she used to send my football cards Down to him when he played for QPR and he would get them signed by the player's and send them back for me. Lovely family and his grandfather played for West Auckland when they win the Thomas Lipton trophy which some people recognise as the first ever world cup
Big bob lad......few years before my time but heard me arl fella rave about him.........sharpy and big dunc were the best i witnessed......proper both number 9s who were great in the air......those type of centre forwards are rare these days......COYBB
You had Tommy Hutchison in this game, who played like Best and Marsh and was prodigiously skilful, loved beating players and beating them again, even in his 40s at Swansea
Best was a legend and deserved to be thought as so, although I can remember many of his latter games at United where he did a lot of running, huffing and puffing but never really created anything. Marsh was always a wannabe Best and never got anywhere near the level of skill that Georgie had. He had a couple of moments and he will always be remembered for his partnership with Best during the Fulham game at Hereford. But City soon shipped him out as they nose-dived down the league. He buggered off to Los Angeles and Cork.
Nonsense, Best a legend, finished at 27 years of age. George made more headlines for his social life than football and Rodney was no wannabe he was a showman at City that cost City the league.
Aw denied a bit of Supermac at the end there, funny Marsh lamenting English players buggering off abroad when he was one of the earliest 'offenders' moving to Tampa Bay Rowdies in '76
Rodney Marsh was a good player only not as good as he thought he was ..Stan Bowles took up the mantle at QPR & Was actually better than he thought he was ...
cant believe the lack of passion these 2 have , as if they are being forced to watch these old games great stuff all of them, Best slags it all off football snob , great playes both of them, and they have a point about football maybe in the 80s Skill level but please show more inthusiasm
Best should have been playing top football in the 70s but a combination of the nightlife that carried on into the day life & a Man Utd team that was a mess didn't help.
Marshey lad, latchford was ten times the player you could ever dream of.
yes deffo
I wasn’t watching for Latchford, I was watching Dave Thomas. Brilliant winger.

Latch is a legend
Dave Thomas one of the best crossers of a ball that you'll ever see and he was from my village
3 superstars Ali on 1 couch , you would never see that in 2023. Whowever made this production happen needs a medal.
Rose tinted spectacles on with these two....everything was better in our day.
It was !

Bobby Latchford walked on water 💙
Rodney Marsh the Terry McCann of Football

Best and Marsh talk some sh1t!
One of the things Bob Latchford could have taught these two big heads was humility....sadly lacking from Rodney Marsh
mickey thomas what a winger
dave wannit
Shite out of Marsh, absolute walker.
Best was fucking brilliant player.
Best and Marsh couldn't be more boring if they tried.
