One of the best cathedrals in jr hockey. I hope this place stays around for a very long time, of all the arenas I've visited to see the Knights, Kitchener will ALWAYS be a favorite of mine. Love coming to the Aud as a visiting fan
How many of you remember The Annex ? A separate arena behind The Aud. Played lots of hockey there as a kid. Kitchener Minor Hockey Association. The puck would go under the boards. Had chicken wire instead of plexi-glass. Change rooms were upstairs. Fun walking up and down those with goalie equipment on. 😅
We used to get Rangers tickets through my dad's work, so I have a ton of memories of wandering around this place. I remember when the team store used to be downstairs in the area you walked through at 10:00.
Just got season tickets starting last year and couldn't be happier. This place was my Friday nights growing up with my dad and I look forward to making similar memories with my son.
It's been many years since I've been to a game, but my Dad and I would go every year to celebrate our birthdays. We might need to start up our tradition again because this tour brought back so many great memories and really makes me miss the Aud.
Buffalo Aud looked like a great place to watch a Hockey game. On a Hockey Tournament in the 90's me and a few team mates went to check the place out. Going to the top row was almost scary, the upper deck was so steep!
Really love these tours you have done. Just came across these. I grew up with a WHL hockey team but the history at this rink. And you showing all the history and make you go back in time. Great job selling the rink story.
If anyone wants to know what the old MLG was like, just go to Kitchener. I am a Gens fan. The Rangers and Gens are the two oldest teams in the league, but Kitchener has the arena. Oshawa lost one to fire, and old Civic was not this grand
@@marklittle8805 you're spot on. This place is special. Just this week during one of our broadcasts, I was commenting on that. What a place to get to go to "work."
@TheOHLPodcast it is a pretty cool old barn than only Canadians can appreciate really. I worked with Rogers on the broadcasts here in Oshawa and our new barn is oh so nice in many ways but it too has its quirks. Maybe in 50 years someone will do a video like this about it. But it still won't be Kitchener
I've been imagining for years that if and when they replace the Auditorium, that they would build the new arena next to the Bingemans amusement park. From a practical standpoint, it makes a lot of sense to have the two amusement venues next to each other.
This is the best arena I've ever been in

This Arena is a Mini MLG. Same Architect BTW.
Thank you for sharing this, what a grand building. As a WHL fan and US Division, rink reminds me of the Veterans Memorial Coliseum here in Portland
would love to see it sometime! Thanks for watching.
Haven't been in the Aud since the Joe McDonnell coaching years, and yes, you could walk all the way around.
Great tour! Definitely on my bucket list to visit as a Saginaw Spirit fan.
can't wait to see you here!
yes it amazing rink
This was really good, Mike. Man, I miss Friday nights at this joint. Gotta get back there some day.
even you are welcome anytime. ;)
@@TheOHLPodcast 11:27 you just walked past our seats we have season tickets
So much like the lower bowl of the Buffalo Memorial Auditorium, our “Aud”.

Same colored seats as Buffalo's Aud... only missing the oranges.
Awesome tour, Mike! Been waiting to see the Aud 👍

thanks for watching!
Funnily enough the team that is now the Peterborough Petes were the first team to call the Aud home
Thanks for sharing Mike, will see you in Owensound on the 28
looking forward to it, Glenn!
They made it like the maple leaf gardens.

T.O.P nice video I wouldn't say it's the best arena and Junior Hockey I'm sure the Western Hockey League has some good arenas

4:11 where is the jumbotron
Can You Do Windsor Spitfires? If You Can’t That’s Fine
Got any good video tour of old London gardens?
Mississauga has no carry not to
And I wouldn't say best arena in the OHL either London has a good Arena Windsor has a good Arena Ottawa and Oshawa Generals
🤣
Lookin' pretty rough. Tear that shed down and step into 2020s, Farsie.
