My 1 year review: Buy Carhartts if you need reliability for the jobsite. Buy Dickies if you're casual. Im a welder and own two pairs of both. Ive given each pant about the same amount of weartime on the job. 6-8 months in, my Dickies are shredded. The shin, groin, knee, thigh and both pockets are non existent. My Dickies look like I've tossed them into a tornado with only minimal exposure to work hazards. They dont handle tears well. My first pair was ruined within hours from a 1/4 inch tear which developed into a tear that spanned the length of my leg by the end of the day. My Carhartts are still going strong with LITTLE wear. They've withstood abrasion, sparks, flames, chemicals, dirt and mud. The rips that developed on my Dickies only appeared as small scuffs on my Carhartts. By no means are these super pants, but treat them right and they will go far.
I prefer dickies pants! but with carhartt jackets the ruggedness and construction simply can not be overstated. Some of my most hard wearing carhartt coats were purchased at a second hand store probably on its 3rd life (two names scratched out on the inside breast pocket from a mechanics shop in Southern Missouri) and the light fraying and wear only adds to the character of the garment. That being said the thickness of carhartt fabric is also the reason that dont like them for pants.
Wow that sounds pretty incredible and I'm not surprised how long lasting Carhartt clothing is. It probably has like 10 more lives before it dies haha. I personally prefer pants not as thick as well but then again I'm not doing any labor extensive activities.
Exactly the video I needed! Dickies and Carhartt are both great brands. Dickies pants looks to be more relaxed and less rugged and Carhartt is the opposite. might just have to cop the Dickies
I love carhartt's firm duck fabric, but these pants never really worked comfort wise for me. I elected to go for the bib version of the carhartts. They beat the heck out of high rise and baggy legs on these.
I can't say anything about the comfort or functionality of them but the Carhartt's looks better in my opinion. They look more like a pair of work pants than the dickies.
What about the waist measurements? Are the dickies less waterproof because of the blend? I saw dickies now do 'Duck Canvas Utility Trousers' which look like a Carhartt clone.
Those Dickies pants look tight. The Carhartt pants look much more comfortable. Carhartt pants are the clear winner here for me. There is so much more space in the groin area for the Carhartt pants over the Dickies pants. When I sit down I don't like the feel of pants that push my balls up into my abdomen. If your biggest gripe about the pants are that they are to long just take them to the tailor shop to have them hemmed to your liking to resolve that issue.
I switched from Dickies's to Carhartt's because I wear them daily. When they're too beat up to wear in public I make them into tin pants. No jeans for me. These are the ones.
Hey man Thank you for your video! And I wanna ask you a question I was 183cm about 6 feet or 6"1 and 185lbs, so which size will suit for me? 34*30 or 33*30? I think my thighs may be a little bit strong Thank you so much!
I think 30L might be too short for you. I'm 5'10 (178 cm) and I'm wearing a 30L. I would think you would need at least a 32L. Im 160 lbs (72 kg) with a size 30W. I would stick with your true to size for you waist. There's a lot of thigh room in these two pants. Hope it helps and appreciate you watching 🙂
Hey man can you tell me your weight? I’m 141lb and 5’8 wondering if I should 31x30 or 32x30 for the Dickies. Some people say go one size up on the 874s not sure on this ones
Yes there are knee pads, check out @5:00 and great suggestion lol, I tried to do some movements at the @2:00 mark. I can confirm that both pants are good for moving around all day.
The carhartt is not comfortable…. You can get those dickies for 26 at wAlmart. Carhartt are 60 plus…. And trust me, they all rip and tear, no matter what brand

Best Carhartt guide out there!!!

If you’re not doing labor extensive activities then why the hell are you reviewing work pants? These pants are double front for a reason. For work.

Carhartt also has relaxed fit flex pants .As for the leg openings Carhartt is easier to fit over pull on utility work boots.
agreed

Carhartt bibs are a classic. Can never go wrong with those
awesome thanks for making this video! super helpful Dickies/Carhartt comparison!!

Carhartt has a straight fit double duck pant as well
What style?
What's the difference between this carpenter double knee and normal jeans
What about the waist measurements? Are the dickies less waterproof because of the blend? I saw dickies now do 'Duck Canvas Utility Trousers' which look like a Carhartt clone.
I’d have to say Carhartt for me. You know its gonna last and the more beat up they get, the more bad ass they look. 😉👍
170cm 5'7, 72kg around 155 fit body what size would you get?
i have just made up my mind carhartt life saver ✊🏻
love to hear that!

Carhartt anytime
👌

For the Carhartt Double front, is it the Relaxed fit? Opposed to the washed loose fit.
I can confirm that it's not a relaxed fit. It's a "loose original fit"
Amazing video 👍

@@MensFashionFiles Thank for your advice man!
Do the dickies ones bleed ? I want to buy the black pair but scared they'll bleed on my shoes
Usually only bleed when they’re %100 cotton which the dickies are not.
How tall are you?
Hey man can you tell me your weight? I’m 141lb and 5’8 wondering if I should 31x30 or 32x30 for the Dickies. Some people say go one size up on the 874s not sure on this ones
I'm 5'10, 160 lbs and went with 30 X 30. I went TTS for 874s and they fit good. I think 31 would be fine for you.
I can tell you first hand wearing both all my life Carhartt are alot more durable
Really nice beautiful sharing dear keep it up stay safe and stay in touch
can you fit kneepads in either of these pants? also for the video maybe do some work posses lol
Yes there are knee pads, check out @5:00 and great suggestion lol, I tried to do some movements at the @2:00 mark. I can confirm that both pants are good for moving around all day.
Carhartt is much better and cost only 7$ more.
👌
Hey mister what if you have muscular thighs but dont like that skin tight feel
Carhartt double front is very loose fitting so you should be fine. You may need to size up one for Dickies though.
I’m trying mf find a good work pant and all I see is people trying to style them. LIKE BRO ALL I WANT TO KNOW IS IF THE PANT IS DURABLE!!
maybe i think carhartt b01 hip is too tight.
First like awesome ❤️❤️👍
