I feel bad for the people that actually think $500 for this is a good deal. It doesn’t look horrible from the outside but interior is rather lackluster and the clone barrack section looks like it was built by a 5 year old. $400 would still be pushing it, especially considering something like the Mos Eisley cantina cost $400 for more parts and way more figures.
They want $200 for a recolored Slave 1 ofc its a rip off. Just go to bricklink and all the Lego instrucktions are online. Same goes for the $150 one, insane how someone can just steal the design and sell it for $150
This is definitely the worst Kamino moc I’ve seen being sold like I get space as an important thing but mini figures not being able to really be in the set without looking giant is bad
yeah, it's honestly not a good business model - you cant make a set comparable to lego with them pushing out those numbers, they still might be a rip off - but thats why mocs are just as expensive. The only hard part about building them is the price for parts - and RB just passes that on to the buyer.
The interior looks like something I would’ve made as a kid with my brick collection. Can’t wait until Lego finally makes us one. It’s cool that they tried… but this is rough

As much as I respect your honest reviews I'm not sure why he keeps sending you sets to review. I've watched all if not most of these custom reviews and I think you were mostly positive about one or two of them.
It's free marketing. I guess any press is good press in his mind
They’re friends, and tbh if he wasn’t honest about then it would hurt both of them. He knows Ryan will be honest, if he’s not people will buy it and complain about all the things Ryan lied or didn’t talk about outing them both and arguably getting worse press because it’s more voices rather than one, and those who hear it don’t buy it.
I feel like the most recent Cloud City set could be a great base template for building Kamino.
For sure. The landing pads, and main building are perfect for modding it.

I personally find republic bricks has low quality, bad designs and very bad prices. Even though RB designers neither have a budget nor any boundaries at all, they still fail to make good clean designs imo. Really it just feels cheap. (for example they literally just colour changed the cloud city slave 1 snd didn’t even bother changing that big hole in the back for carbonite han solo although it clearly doesn’t belong there. Check out brickvault, they work with designers without bounderies… only differences are that they actually put effort and work into into their builds and that they are actually good at what they‘re doing.

Brick vault is the GOAT. My mouth practically waters when I see what they come up with. RB? My eyes sometimes wanna throw up.

RB has the occasional highlight, that could even pass as lego set( like the invisible hand i thought was a 10/10). but i think fundamentally brickvault and RB are two differently operating bussinesses with different goals and intentions so comparing them doesn't make alot of sense in my opinion
It looks alright… but what if instead of the whole building we had a slightly sized up version that was only half. So you could turn it around and see the interior or keep it closed and have a larger facility.
Or buy two and combine them!

There’s just cac helmets, everything else is Republic Bricks since the figures are UV and cac uses pad printing.

Agree with the no interior aspect. I'd use those pieces to maybe make the pillars of the facility little taller n maybe so small prospective platforms to the rear. Your delivering great content keep up the excellent work.

If I had my own place and the money I'd totally buy this. I love Kamino so much. I'd mod it with a smaller Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter on one landing pad and have more Clones inside below the balcony. This set would look amazing on display with the right figures and some small additions.

a micro scale obiwans fighter and slave 1 would of been neat. even preferable to the slave 1 we got.

I actually prefer interior but it doesn’t have to be crazy for it to affect the design and making it look different from the universe design. I do like interior cause it helps show more character to the set and to put loose minifigures into a set. Or a good spot to hide money then forget about it for a couple months.

I would pay $150-$200 for the entire thing. That just Jango Fett's Slave 1 is $150 is absurd. The Kamino build itself just looks lackluster and bland to me.

My favourite thing about lego as a child is I can only afford 1 set a year and the set I like most are the big ones for the 18 plus range like the cantina but I could never be able to possibly get them due to me struggling with social situations like jobs due to autism.

The scale seems way off compared to how the pro LEGO designers would approach the project. It’s scaled around the ship and not the minifig. Taun We would barely fit standing up in the base section when closed cause the scale is off. The lack of details are also disappointing… a master builder series would have way more detail. Those gaps OMG, there are design solutions to avoid that. I’m sorry but it looks like a kids moc not a set that had an actual pro designer put thought into. Especially for the outrageous price point. Thanks for the review Ryan.

@@mactias6190 I’m a pro designer that has worked for Lego, hasbro etc etc. I’m just stating the facts. From a pro design perspective it’s all off & wouldn’t pass the standards. For $500 that’s nuts. People can have subjective opinions about design styles but when it comes to the actual design fundamentals it’s all off. Is what it is. The fan “designers” making his stuff sometimes have no clue. Any pro designer would say the same. Most of the ships he makes are dope but this set looks like a dumbed down $150-$200 LEGO set where the designers were under a tight budget. I’m not trashing it just stating pro design facts. It should be done correctly for $500 is all I’m saying.

I don't really mind the Jango helmet I think it's fine
So much money that could be spent on something way better! The figs printing also look grainy. The only decent thing is the jango’s slave 1, but 150 is way to much for a 50$ set!

Oof, not feeling this set at all (the main Kamino set). A build of this size basically needs some kind of interior to justify it, but the interior itself is really quite compromised. I love Kamino as a setting, but this is definitely something that would look better for display as a Architecture-level micro scale build.
The landing pad + slave I set however is pretty cool. Pricey for what it is, but that's typical.
I like the set and wish I had room for something like that. Great review.
