Well, minus the fact that it constantly gets cut short as players themselves constantly get cut down lol Anyone who gets to enjoy the glory of the whole ost in one sitting might not be human.
Shoi Miyazawa did a wonderful job with this dlc. This, midra's theme, and dancing lion were all him. He won me over as a newer fromsoft composer with mohg and radahn's themes in the base game but he's fully come unto his own now I'd say.
@@Noizzedexactly especially with some of their work in AC6. Just don't go around saying successor of kitamura cause those dark souls glazers will eat you alive
he is so good. He deserves to compose a whole soundtrack like Kitamura did with Dark Souls 3. He has proven himself to be as good and sometimes even better than her. I don't think Kitamura will stop working with From, but even if she did, they would still be in good hands. Miyazawa also composed the Ibis fight song in Armored Core 6, also a huge banger.
@@LocksAndChains So true. A newborn god and one of the strongest beings in the lands between DURING THEIR PRIME (Technically somewhat before but still!!)
Definitely one of the best tracks they have ever made, perfectly executed in returning the more triumphant motif of the starscourge into phenomenal celestial heights in the second phase.
Big respect, don't let anyone tell you what to think! Lots to love about this final encounter. Not perfect, but nothing is I guess. Except for this music though, I'd agree with that.
It's about time someone had something good to say about this fight. Loved this boss, even if I still have some problems with it. Give it time and people will come around. They did with Gael, this will be no different.
The second phase of this genuinely blew me away, I’m a massive fan of fromsoft OSTs and this has without a doubt taken the #1 spot for me. I spoiled the final boss for myself before the internet did listening to this because I recognized the first phase so quickly as a connection to another base game boss lol
the thing about the first part of this song is that its based on another piece from the base game, that one is more sombre and more of a goodbye to a great warrior and this on the other hand is more of a praise of glory to a warrior returned to his former glory.
Man, hearing the callback at the start of the track to the original in the base game was very impressive. It really reminds me of what the fandom was hyping itself up about when the DLC was announced; Prime Radahn. And boy, did we get that and more.
that last "drop" (12:52) legit gets me high. that short buildup, then the high vocals coming to the back of the mix and just stay up there when it "hits". they like take and pull my eyelids up. and then the rhythm of the drums, the snare sound in the back, and everything. hard to fit into words here rn
I really don't know how it is possible to create an OST of this type, which perfectly represents a bossfight from every point of view. Musically narrative, you really feel the power and the Glory of Radhan, the danger when Miquella arrives, the most feared, the Pure, but the one who abuses his ineluctable power to gain even more power and even surpass his Mother. Ambiguous, Sacred but the most dangerous. They managed to perfectly portray the charm of miquella and in the end, it ends with the sacredness of Miquella on Radhan's shoulders and you can hear the footsteps in battle, the percussions of Radhan's music accompanied perfectly by Miquella's voices, bells and atmosphere who supports him in the first and last battle like God. It moves me. a perfect job
The literal definition of profound. Especially when Miquella enters. It's like a band of angels have descended upon us and gifted us the ultimate soulful experience known to mankind during this boss fight. I am forever grateful for Shoi Miyazawa for this.
You should react to Bloodborne OST, the game is made by the same devs. The most popular tracks are "Ludwig the Accursed & Holy Blade", "Lady Maria of the Astral Clocktower", "Gehrman, the First Hunter".
The first half of this track is the perfect encapsulation of what the fight is like - you're fighting a hero larger than life. The Hercules of the Elden Ring mythology. And having died to this guy a couple of hundred times, I'm Stockholm Syndrome'd into loving it.
Thanks for your input on the song. I'm really enjoying hearing musicians react to this because I learn a lot about music from it. For your perspective, the second part of the song is a duet between two characters working together. The pure, angelic vocals and bright strings is one, the harsh drums and deeper vocals is the other. This is definitely my favorite Fromsoft song of all time.
Notice that in the second phase Radahns "voice", is muted and overpowered by miquellas power. He's just reduced to the underlying force to miquellas ascension
I spend my entire weekend fighting radahn 10-12 hrs, ended up killing him for the first time parrying every attack, never tilted once (the music did really helped with the mental) , and proud to say exactly a 5 min fight(the music did really helped with the mental)
Because it's a reaction. We don't come here to listen to the song again, but this time someone talks over it. We're here to get someone's opinion as they listen to this piece of music, and it's rather hard to give your opinion on something while more is being blasted into your ears.
@@elusiveDEVIANT and If the opera singer you're referring to is marco then I'll have to disagree, I personally think his breakdowns aren't that good, at least compared to someone like Davi Vaasc

His Starscourge Radahn is my favorite OST from the base game. The last minute-and-a-half makes my cry, it's just so emotional and reverent.

@@kimberlyh.1090 Yeah very underrated.
Second part of this song perfectly fits to the arrival of a Deity.
Seriously. This is the first time I’ve felt like I’m fighting a god. Not a burned out husk or an old warrior past his prime.

Perfect boss ( yes come at me) and perfect ost. What an incredible finale to the masterpiece that is Elden Ring.
Absolutely
Not perfect, yet the best boss Fromsoft have ever made. Just a tier above God tier.

Amazing boss with a fitting OST. Yea it has some jank.. but thematically this you’re literally fighting a god & Chad Radahn lol
