Plenty of owners are getting only 150-160 miles range, though Peugeot have tweaked the range with some tyre mods (etc.) recently. Visibility good? I have a petrol 208 and am constantly craning my neck around the thick A B and C pillars
Great review @SHETALKSCARS - thank you! I got one of these last year (in the sensational yellow) and it is an absolute pleasure to drive and own. The range is interesting - it falls away quite considerably in the winter (due to heater draining so much power) - so top tip, if you have the spec, use heated seats rather than heater to reduce battery consumption (even though it sometimes feels like you've wet yourself with a heated seat - hahahaha). And it's the first car I've ever owned where it has literally turned heads and had folk coming up saying "nice car/colour" ... I love it - and given where fuel prices are today, I made exactly the right choice (even though it is quite pricey up front). Keep up the great work!
Probably closing a deal tomorrow for a white with this configuration. The interior is a bit busy for my liking but I think it will be perfect for my commute in Portugal. Loved the review, thank you!
This was a great review, you’re very underrated! Keep it up. I’m not even car shopping or considering anything like this, but you made this car appealing! Very informative and the little jokes you have in between each seg way help the flow of the video.
Please please, like too many reviewers, it is important to understand it does not matter what brake mode you are in (B or normal , or even coast), all EV's except 1 (tesla) have blended brakes - hence the spongy peddle and all EV's. This means that when you use the brakes - regardless of B/normal mode you will regen up to the generation limit in all EV's . So it does not "save your brakes" to use B mode - since all EV's will use regen up to their max regen when you use the brakes - just that B mode changes the auto-slow down on accelerator lift off setting. What does affect your brakes is poor driving style where you slow down heavily in all conditions and you exceed the regen power limit which I believe is about 50kW-peak.. Note, most reviewers get this wrong, so keep up the good work.
Brilliantly presented as usual, thanks . I've just ordered the EV6 GT - S and I'm still watching your reviews , unfortunately its not arriving till January 😀 100 % entertainment thanks 👍
Was watching this and thought how can you better demonstrate practicality.. is there any chance you can reach out to company like mamas and papas and ask them to lend out a pram and isofix carseats? So you can show if they can fit the slimmer or bulky baby accessories Keep up the great work! My daughter who’s 5 wants to be a TH-camr but she’s too young to review cars lol
I'm picking up a 2020 GT tommorow for £12K so I'm quite excited about that, it will be a throw back to the 205 GTI I had when I was 19. Can you believe that one dealer is selling the base model for £20K new right now?
I've got the e208 GT line and it is beautiful to drive. However, I don't think the range is great. The dials say 180 miles but after 80 miles I'm on half a tank so realistically I would need to be looking for a charger after 120 miles. It is still way cheaper to drive than an ICE and even on Eco mode, it really shifts.
What a great review - succinct and to the point and the quality is fabulous! I’ve just ordered a GT in Elixir Red (I love the blue but wife loves the red!) as I think it’s the best small EV out there currently. Has enough range (we’ll only do about 150 miles a week in it) and big enough as a second car. Tried a few different EV’s and the e208 was just more fun and better looking so thought why not?
Yes I got E208 Allure, I had rattle underneath, took it back to main dealer and they said it to be normal, can you believe that we now nearly in the 23rd century ,got in touch with peugeot they said take it to a different dealer which I did,and did it for me and they said I was the second one that day.
@@SHETALKSCARS Hi its OK but you can't rely on the amount of electric you have 1minute you got 96 miles I done 9miles then I have only got 80 miles or less, not for me next time.
I chose the e-208 before the mini electric because of the range and the storage. I would have chosen the mini otherwise because of the much more power and joy and that it has true one pedal driving. I almost think that i should have chosen the mini, but it only has 50 kW charging and short range.
You seem pretty chuffed but 7 hours is still quite a long time to charge in comparison to filling up with petrol. Also the real world range is more like one- fifty , so i've heard. Basically, there's not enough infrastructure on the street around Unfortunately for ev yet. But with soaring energy prices you may as well just fill up with petrol, now, its probably cheaper. 🎉
I have an e208 GT premium. In winter, the realistic range has been between 150 and 160 miles when being mindful of economy doing a 60 mile round trip commute on mostly motorways
@@AlanFlavell thanks it’s a shame car makers can’t get round this problem as for me it means I won’t be able to use a car in the winter because I’ll be charging it twice a day
@@AlanFlavell thinking about getting one . I do 120 mile round trip every day . So you think I’m winter it will be fine ? Only thing making me think twice
Nice review. On thing missing is that it charges a lot faster than the 50kW mentioned. 10-80% in 27 min on a 100kW charger, vs 50 min on a 50kW. It's made this better for long journeys than the Renault Zoe, even though the Zoe has a longer range.
Hi Richard. Thank you. Yes - but how many 100kw chargers have you seen in the UK? The most common public charger is 50kw. So I prefer to focus on what’s relevant and realistic for most people: 50kw / 7kw.
@@SHETALKSCARS Actually loads now. I have a choice of 10 on the way from Newcastle to London. Plus Tesla Superchargers now. It's unusual that I have to rely on 50kW on a long journey, although they are rarer in the north.
@@richardalderton1047 That’s really interesting to know thanks Richard! I’m up North so I am slightly north biased. But only slightly! 😉 Appreciate you letting me know.
I think Peugeot did the right thing especially when you look aroud, Renault has killed its beautiful Megane hot hatch design by making it an SUV electric, VW they chose a borring design without any style, so I think Peugeot 208 is ok but too slow according to many test drives I have seen.
Why would you say "from a 50 kW charger"? Why would anyone use 50 kW charger when there is 100+ out there. No sure about UK, but in Sweden I would not stop at at 50 kW charger as there is plenty of 100+ out there.

They only get the 3cyl turbo versions.
