i seriously don't understand why people dislike that wedding dress, it's so pretty and elegant..
The train is iconic, but the dress is a bit much. Well...at least it made a lasting statement. 🤷♀️

@@politereminder6284 it don’t think it’s much, the big puffy sleeves and big flowy dress was the epitome of 80’s fashion. And Diana looked so regal and like a true princess in it, so beautiful.

I LOVED that dress, it was very princess, very 80s, all-out romance. She was absolutely stunning in it. The only thing that I noticed (after people started to mention it more) was how wrinkled it was after she exited the vehicle. It was adjusted/smoothed out after she entered the church.

Every time I see Princess Diana, she reminds me so much of my childhood and little baby and toddler years. I feel a sense of fresh air and happiness that I can’t get over. I always cherished seeing her beautiful smile. I truly wish Charles had treated her how she deserved. She had a warm and fragile heart. ❤I could see in all the videos, how much she loved her children. She was such a good mother and so attentive, even when her heart was broken. God bless her.

I don't know where it 'was bang on trend in fashion' but it wasn't here in Australia. I won't forget the shock when she appeared with this dress. The media were trying to choose their words carefully and seemed shocked. Her dress was so puffy but also so creased it was such a shame. But it is Dianna and a piece of history.

The dress is perfect for her. May it seems a little bit much, but it fits to her personally. With the small cleavage and the big collar its in a good match with her short hair and it emphasizes her big deep blue eyes. It also represents her to be romantic and innocent. Lets be honest everyone wanted to see once in time a princess just like in a fairytale. She looked like that and she deserved it.

Although this dress is a much more over-the-top confection, it reminds me of Queen Marie Antoinette and the chemise à la Reine portrait by Le Brun. There's a sad irony in that.
They better hang on to it with both hands or Kim Kardashian will be wanting to wear that next....
As she did with Marilyn Monroe’s historic 1962 JFK birthday gown which Kim was later accused of damaging it. Kim managed to bribe the museum’s curators to let her wear Marilyn’s original skin tight dress because she felt she had to, what Kim wants Kim gets. If she could somehow get her hands on Diana’s wedding dress, she certainly would and be shamelessly photographed wearing it just to stir up more controversy and keep her name in the gossip news cause that’s all KK lives for.
Any dress will look beautiful, if Diana was the one who wore them.
When she stepped out the carriage it looked a mess. But once it was sorted, WOW...as a 9 year old girl I was obsessed with it.

Diana’s wedding dress, even for the 1980s, was way over the top. It looked like it wore her instead of her wearing it. It was huge on her, a big ruffled, puffy, wrinkled monstrosity that she looked lost in. She didn’t wear it with confidence as if the dress wasn’t meant for her, it was completely the wrong style for her body shape. She was tall but she lost some weight so that thing overpowered her slim figure making her look like a thin mannequin in a department store window display. The only pretty thing she wore was her tiara. Like her so-called fairytale marriage which turned out to be a sham, that dress was ill fitting on her which was probably a bad omen of things to come in her future with Charles. It was sad Diana’s wedding day was not a fairytale for her as we found out years later and her poor choice of wedding dress was probably the only time in her life that Diana didn’t look good fashion wise.
I didn't like that dress either it had too much going on, laces and ruffles and pearls and bows and more ruffles and puffy here and puffy there, and wrinkles, she was beautiful, but yes she was lost in all that eccessive fabric.
I think the designers were too intent on making a fairy tale dress rather than thinking about how it would look on Diana. The colour was a good choice being ivory but the overall design was too fussy and overwhelming. I remember that day well and I must admit the dress was disappointing.

It had some pretty elements, but it was so poofy with much material that it kinda swallowed her up.

Big and gaudy like the 80s....This looked like an old fashioned dressing gown....and it was a wrinkled MESS when Diana got out of the carriage....The only thing I liked was the Spencer Tiara she wore! THAT WAS IT....🤣🤭

Ah, the exploding-wedding-cake- dress! Diana, as yet , didn't have the confidence to know she did not need a dress wearing her. The scene of her sitting during her wedding, swamped by the sheer volume of this monstrosity was not flattering . A dress trying way too hard!
Diana was of course lovely, but I thought her wedding dress was hideous. There was so much of it. Yards and yards of wrinkled taffeta, in the most unflattering style imaginable. Those sleeves looked like they should be draped around a four poster bed. An absolute disaster.

It’s the ugliest most unflattering wedding dress I have ever seen. I would have refused to wear it. Besides it looked like she had slept in it. It was not the style at the time. It had no style.
I don't know who advised her for her wardrobe but that dress was awful, and so were the clothes she wore the first years and those silly hats, she got more sophisticated and classy as time went by.

One of the ugliest wedding dresses ever made. It looks like a potato sack. To think of all the time and money spent to create such a train wreck. Princess Grace, queen Elizabeth, princess Margaret, Kate etc all their dresses were beautiful and covered many decades and fashion changes.
The most terrible design of a wedding dresses let alone for a princess. The dress could have been thousand times better. Primitive design, terrible selection of material and let’s not talk about surface ornamentation. Not a good designer!
I agree but the royals never had good taste when it came to dressing, and those ridiculous hats they wear, Diana got more classy towards the end, the first years she dressed bad, like those huge polka dots she wore. I wonder if she was the one that chose her clothes or was it the queen that decided what she had to wear
I don't like the dress because it was way too big for Princess Diana. It was so huge, that I though perhaps she is pregnant. It doesn't matter. Compare Kate's dress, Meghan's dress, they were very classic and beautiful. Everyone can have their own opinion.
