    Still amazed at how the Supra performs with all that extra stuff weighing it down. And honestly not surprised at the Toyota branding on the interior... See, that's the stuff that they don't tell you, mechanics of the car aside, Toyota put a lot more into this then they led on to believe.

    Awesome stuff!!
    Can't wait to see the difference especially once you get the seats out.
    Idk if anyone else mentioned this, but AdamLZ got 550hp out of his car with a new turbo and downpipe with Meth.
    But I know you said you want to develop your own parts and stage kits, so making a catless downpipe and maybe even tuning on better gas you should see a solid 440hp with just bolt ons.
    Can't wait to see which route you go with.

    • @JackieDing86
      @JackieDing86  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      There’s a lot more to the car than just downpipe and turbos. 550 whp is great and I bet it pulls but on track that puts a lot of stress on the cooling system to keep up. Mindlessly chasing HP should not be the goal of a track car, but rather perfecting the overall balance between grip, weight, suspension, and power and more

    • @gonshik
      @gonshik 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JackieDing86 totally agree on that. Just sending some info your way since you were saying it lacking top end power overall.

    Try removing them fake vents. Cut them out with a Dremmel tool if they won't pop out. But I would remove the whole front nose and remove vent covers. You are tracking it, and can overheat. I could cut them hood vents out, cut, weld, paint or whatever to make them function. You got a good welder who made your exhaust. Them fake vents got to go. The ones in the front nose and rear bumper cover look like the easiest to remove.

      Shady Shinichi That comparison doesn’t work. It doesn’t make sense even if the Supra was a trash sports car (and judging by the reviews, only a blind hater who never drove it would think it’s bad). This isn’t cobbling random BMW and Toyota parts together into a Frankenstein, like Toyota did with their Lexus RC’s overweight platform.
      If anything, it’s like two bakers working together to discover the best strawberry cake recipe possible, and later go to make their own versions, sharing one of the baker’s ingredients (while the other shares the cost).

    • @ravenstylea2

      Shady Shinichi Pagani sources their motors from Mercedes, and BMW used to make engines for airplanes, Subaru provides their engines to Toyota, and the list goes on. Yeah I get it, because I am not someone who compares food - fruit and cake -> “fruitcake” to make an empty point.

    Next up on JD's Bizzare Adventure: Wires are untouchable
    *the gang removes the bumpers, lights, steering wheel, engine, driver, and set the TA record for fastest bicycle around a racetrack, beating Richard Hammond!*

      I know this is a joke but fun fact: according to the TRD bosses, if you have the bumper off the car and radar sensors disconnected, the car refuses to start

      New BMW’s don’t like being disconnected from battery, needs a reset from dealership afterwards I believe, so will be tough to do.

      Yea because we put the OE seat back. We are required to have driver and passenger seats in the car, and an aftermarket seat base isnt available yet.

      @@JackieDing86 Have a shop fabricate a custom seat base. Probably will be slimmer/shorter than a branded one. I had couple made for the s2000 by Piper Motorsports in VA. They were lower than the Sparco ones designed for S2000.

    Remove the catted down pipe. People are seeing pretty noticeable power jumps from swapping with a non-catted pipe.

      Krovi - Tokyo Nichijou That’s true. But if he doesn’t then it’s a worthwhile part to replace for easy hp gains.

      A new car loses value no matter what. 95% of cars are liabilities and not investments. He bought his Supra for track purposes, I'm pretty sure maintaining its value wasnt even on the priority list. When you buy your own 55k Supra you can use it as a commuter for 50k miles. After 4 years of rarely using that Supra what it's meant for, I want you to look at its monetary value and you will most likely be at like a 25k dollar loss. So ask yourself who gained more value from the car you or Jackie?
