My son only eat snacks even stopped eating nuggets. I had to step in, I am cooking a a mixture of all goodies specially beets and carrots, pumpkin seeds, black seed and whatever veggies I have and have them in the blender and give a 100 ml syringe every day, I also make another syringe with kefir and powdered eggs and I include the omega three and the other supplements when giving the syringe. this completely eliminated the conistapation but no other changes
Thank you again for sharing your journey and contributing so much to this community! Your determination and creativity in supporting your son’s health are truly inspiring. It’s amazing to see how your proactive approach helped eliminate constipation. In your other comment, you addressed biting behavior, and here you’ve shown that different challenges often require different solutions. This is such an important reminder for all parents: there’s rarely one magical fix, but rather a series of thoughtful steps that address specific needs. Your dedication is a testament to the power of perseverance and how small, consistent actions can lead to meaningful progress. Cheering you on every step of the way-you’re doing an incredible job! 💙
I really agree with you on diet. I see kids on the spectrum in my sons classes where you can just see it in the kids poor faces. Circles under their eyes. The parents give them soda, juice boxes, sugar, dyes when I mention diet they look at me like I am from another planet. I don't preach it I just suggest and tell them to look into it and let them know what it has done for us. A friend of mine's father who worked with Autistic children for 30 years preached three things to help autism, diet, diet, diet. He was a witness of what good diets could do for a child on the spectrum. We did heavy metal detox (Chelation) when my son was young. It is tough because you cannot work on too many things at once, it has to be one at a time so you know what is helping and what isn't.
My son has a self restricted diet and he won’t eat any fruits and vegetables. Autistic children have sensory issues related to taste and smell that affects what they eat. Autistic children may refuse to eat or drink non preferred foods to the extent that they may end up hospitalized. It’s better to give them what they will eat even if it not healthy, it’s calories at least…rather than try to withhold certain food in attempts to get them to eat healthy food… maybe some of what you are observing is only a shallow glimpse of the problem.. maybe it’s not bad parenting at all, maybe the parent has tried and tried and tried for years and nothing has worked so what you see is the parents giving unhealthy food to an autistic child…. Bc that’s the only thing the child will eat and is barely above the growth scale… so those calories are keeping the child alive… and I have spent a lot of money and time putting healthy foods in his lunch knowing he will never eat it just so teachers and other adults who don’t know the whole story won’t pass judgement against me and blame me for my sons autistic eating problem related to dis functional taste and smell…
@@videos4doctors I apologize if you think I was insinuating bad parenting, I didn't mention those words at all. My son also only eats very few items and yes we have also wasted countless money trying to introduce items to my son. All I was saying is parents need to educate themselves on diet and do the best they can within their means. I have came across countless parents, special ed teachers and parapros that really have no idea about diet and autism. They have never heard of yeast, or c-diff. Some parents take to the internet and books and try to learn everything they can for their child, others don't. I am not judging either one but if I see a horribly overweight child with autism exhibiting yeast and issues that can be helped with a better diet, how do I not at least mention it to them? Maybe the parents have tried or maybe they have no idea?, I wouldn't know that until we have a discussion. I really enjoy talking with parents to see what has helped and what hasn't in regards to autism. That is the entire point of being here and watching this channel as well as participating in any Autism parent community. People that are just trying to help each other. Anyway I think you misunderstood the point of my comment, it was not to talk down to anyone it was to share the information and experiences we have had. Each family has their own story, not everyone knows everything about autism. We are all still learning as we go. Best of luck to you and your family.
@@btube19 I apologize if I upset you. It’s a very touchy subject for me. I have been repeatedly accused by people bc they don’t understand that I have tried everything and I am still trying.
@@videos4doctors No worries, I wasn't upset. We are all going through this puzzle called Autism. Exchanging stories and information helps us all. Thanks for your input on the subject.
Autism children have sensory problems. Taste and smell are sensory issues. Parents of autistic children already know that diet is important and how to eat healthy and what the child should eat. I think that there is no need to even discuss detoxing of a autistic child bc no autistic child would cooperate with such an abrupt change in diet… These children have dietary behaviors in the same way that other behaviors are related to the sensory problems. We have tried everything imaginable to get ours to eat healthy. Even one bite of something healthy. If you want to help autistic children, maybe you can help us figure out how to fix the taste and smell problem that is preventing them from eating healthy foods in the first place. And perhaps you can look into the failed laboratory diagnostic system. These children have intestinal parasites, and the labs fail to diagnose the parasites. Tragically . I am pretty convinced that they have parasites….it all makes sense. The puzzle pieces fit also.. causing all the vitamin deficiencies… that we don’t even test for… don’t you think it is absurd that a child is diagnosed with autism and never tested for vitamin B12 or any other vitamin deficiency? It’s almost criminal not to check vitamin B12
Here is a perfect example. Do you think all parents know about B12? I gave my son shots of B12 for years but when I mention that to his teachers or other parents they tell me they have never heard of that. That is why talking to each other and sharing each others stories are so important. Hopefully you have shared your information about B12 with other families.
Thank you both for sharing your experiences! It's clear that we all share a passion for helping our children thrive despite the many challenges they face. You're absolutely right that sensory issues, like taste and smell, play a huge role in dietary behaviors, and figuring out how to navigate that can be incredibly difficult. Finding ways to make healthy foods more approachable for our children is such an important conversation. Regarding vitamin deficiencies like B12, it’s surprising how often these aren't checked routinely, even though they can have such a significant impact on our children’s health. Even Vitamin D is often not checked! Sharing our stories and knowledge is key, as not all parents may be aware of things like B12 shots or other interventions. Together, we can build a community where information flows and everyone can benefit from each other’s experiences. I'm grateful for your insights, and I hope we can continue this conversation and work toward better solutions for all of our kids. 💙
@@btube19 vitamin B12 deficiency can present with proprioception and other sensory issues, cognitive issues, mood and behavior issues…. I’m sure that my son had vitamin B12 deficiency for years… and instead he was diagnosed with sensory processing disorder…. Then as he continued to worsen in many aspects he was diagnosed with autism. The GI issues started early. No testing for GI parasites was done. When he developed abrupt diarrhea, the ova and parasite tests were negative. The tests were wrong. I have microscopy evidence. But how can I help other children when parents cannot do anything about this. Parents do not want to believe about the parasite problem. It’s a bizarre mental block for reasons we can only speculate. I’m trying to ask God how to approach this problem… I am not suppose to cause contention within the community. I’m suppose to figure out a way to fix the problem… which is not only the lab problem but also the doctor education problem… there is a loss of the information about the signs of parasites in children. It is not taught to doctors anymore. But even if it were, they are relying on faulty lab tests. How to approach this in a way that doesn’t cause an upset?
@@videos4doctors I totally agree with you. I think you can only control what you can control, putting that type of responsibility on yourself is a heavy weight to carry. What we do in all cases related to Autism is just bring up the issues our son is having or did have and explain to them (the parents) what worked and what didn't. I never tell parents "oh you have to do this or that", all I say is "does your child have issue with this?" Ours did, then we found out he had this or that, then the parent sees that he doesn't have that issue any longer and they can make the choice to pursue treatment or not for themselves. You can't save everyone or change an entire industry. We still struggle to find doctors (ours is great but he is not local and is probably getting ready to retire based on his age) open to everything you listed. Finding the open minded doctors are key but again my advice is to keep doing everything you can to help your child and hopefully as the prevalence of Autism accelerates, the medical field will start to try to find the root causes instead of just sweeping it under the rug. Keep sharing your successes as well as the set backs, you have knowledge and experiences that can help families.
