It really does touch the heart. To give a wife who she loved so greatly in life and lost a moment in time with his physical being and give her a baby that isn't just his but of her husband is such a wonderful thing.
This scene is the perfect ending to another masterwork of carpenter. The epic music the dialogue everything is perfect Jeff bridges deserved that Oscar fair and square. It represents one of the hardest things to say to a loved one. Goodbye.
Truly one of the greatest love stories ever put on celluloid. The ending is just perfect, the music, beautiful Karen Allen, take me with you moment. Beautiful. There was a sequel to this, well not a sequel, a t.v. series back in the 80's. I thought it was a good series.
In most cases I find sequels to be pointless; sapping whatever it can from the original story. Poorly imitating its authenticity and desperately trying to recreate the moments the original cast were able to share with one another and capture on film. Having said that I'd love to see a sequel for this. The original story planted enough seeds for a second harvest. I'd love to try and write it !
Carpenter has Soul. This modern era of Cultural Marxism is hell personified. I hate it all. And this film is a taste of home, A time We will never see again. The end is coming.

Ok So I geeked out, but after I watched it a few times, I asked myself.... why is it snowing??? Why can you see their breathe? Because it's so cold.
I'm pretty sure it's snowing because Starman's body doesn't have long and the cold will keep it going a bit longer - he suddenly goes from being bent over and weak to straight backed and somewhat stronger once it kicks in.
