Great movie. If I remember correctly, Jeff Bridges used the movements of a bird to define some of the physical characteristics of his Starman character.

You were younger then, that's why it was so amazing. Now you are older. The same for me. But yes maybe things (life) was less complicated back then, possible. The future looked promising. Maybe now not so much. But i am always positive. (still waiting for those aliens to arrive, will they ever come or not? it's okay for me either way).
I had forgot all about this movie. I had also forgotten all about full service gas stations. My parents refused to ever use a full service gas station growing up. They don't like the idea of tipping everyone, even way back then. Great movie, brings back memories.
This was a good movie Starman had the beautiful Karen Allen, and She is very talented. Jeff Bridges made a great Alien and there were so many Good Players in this movie. I miss good movies like the older ones are greatly missed.
I remember reading Jeff bridges studied bird movements when trying to figure out how to play the alien. His movements are unnatural and quizzical, and he was perfect.

If you want an interesting scene for me to enjoy, have the Diner scene after she's brought back from the dead in that Trailer. All the way up to meeting that family in the back of that pickup truck. I want to see that 1930-31 Ford Model A roadster on Deuce rails Hot Rod!
Is my car spying on me? Yesterday my wife and I saw a car floor it to go through a yellow light and I mentioned the scene in Starman when Jeff Bridges floored it and now today this shows up as a recommendation.
This movie was obviously made before people learned that there is no difference between men and women and that you can change from one sex to another at any time.
The 1977 Cobra II was rated with only 140 HP. However it was one of the lightest Mustangs ever made. Adding headers, intake, cam, 4 barrell, dual exhaust, and electronic ignition will net you a 12-second car. Ask me how I know.🎉🎉
Always loved this movie. But let's be honest... she would have had a complete nervous breakdown probably leading to an extended catatonic episode if this happened in real life : )
Pointing the gun at her and then dropping the magazine was kind of unnecessary. He could've just told her he meant her no harm and maybe just handed her the gun?
Kids: "How did you fill your gas tank sitting in your car?" I wish I could go back in time and warn gas station toilet guy "he aint seen nuttin yet." The 80s were the end of the fun.
If you wanna pretend that was possible in this film, a single strand of hair wouldn't have stored Scott's memories. I would've stored enough DNA to perfectly recreate his body, but not his experiences, his knowledge, his memories, etc. Maybe if his whole body had been available, possibly, but not from hair. Also, we don't know what age he was when that hair was cut. It may have been a childhood memento, which is why He was able to somewhat read but didn't know Jenny or basic social cues.
Note that the gas is being delivered by a gas station man. I think this is now only done in Virginia? Update: During my trip to the northeast, it was NJ and NOT Virginia where i was not allowed to pump my own gas. Sorry for the bum post, my bad.
A strange man has gun pointed at your head , and instead of pulling the trigger , he ejects the clip . And then states , I mean you no harm . He knew what that thing could . But chose not to use it . Not seeing how the movie got to this point , the plot escapes me . But that is scary 😱
@jamesbeemer7855 Many people use the generic term clip to describe the ammo holder that you insert into guns. There are a few guns that indeed do use a clip like the M1 Garand and the SKS rifle. The 1911 style .45 that is shown here uses a magazine to hold ammo. I was kinda just joshing with you, but the hard-core gun folks out there will literally have an aneurism when you use the terms interchangeably. 😆
Although I enjoyed Starman at its first release, I couldn't suspend my disbelief as he reanimated a field-dressed Whitetail deer. Could he also do that with hamburger? 😂 Hollywood strikes again!

Jeff Bridges did a spectacular job of portraying an alien in a human body. His speech patterns and his disjointed way of walking were brilliant.
