Hey guys, I'm here to show you another hair hack on how to cut your own hair straight at home. Since the stay at home order, I've been getting a lot of email request for this tutorial. I hope you found it useful. Please like and share and don't forget to subscribe if you haven't already. New videos will be published every Friday so come back next week. ^_^
Ok this is the first time I cut my own hair and I took a good 3 inches off of it following this tutorial and IT WORKS. I am so pleased with the results. I had to straighten my hair to the bone, because it's wavy-straight and I made sure to take my time straightening first. Then I followed the tutorial and did my own spin to cut the bits that were too long. But overall I am SO SO pleased and let me tell you that this actually works if you're patient, careful and NOT try to rush things. I had to tie my hair three times until I got it perfect, and then sectioning the hair to perfect it also took me a few attempts. But overall, thank you so much, you saved me $75 bucks!
my hair is wavy straight...would it work if i don’t straighten it? bc i don’t have a straighter, but would it be okay if i hair dried it? it becomes straight when i do that, well straight but puffy
I finally did it. I finally cut my own hair! I have had a fear of cutting my own hair every since high school when I completely butchered it and spend six years growing my length back. This technique was surprisingly easy to follow and my hair looks great. Thank you!
My hair had grown down to the top of my bottom and was desperate to get hair cut but wanted a small fortune to have a good cut. Just watched your video and went for it. Within 15 mins I have cut about 7 inches off and well happy with it. Thank you for posting this video xx
I've been cutting my own hair for years now because I had several very dissapointing and expensive hair dresser visits. But my technique was bad, yours is so easy and gives a good result!
You gotta find people in person who have beautiful cuts, preferably similar to what you're looking for, and ask them who their stylist is. That's the best way to do it. Or you could go in a nice salon just for a wash and blow dry and watch the stylists do their clients hair.
I have literally never cut my own hair before and I used your video and I LOVE MY HAIR NOW! Thank you so much for sharing an easy way to do this! My length is perfect and I am a lot more confident about my appearance now!
Have tried this technique like four times since the pandemic started and it always comes out perfect and it is very quick and easy to follow, thanks for this video
Well, I was impressed. Finally gave in to the pandemic home hair cut thing and after watching only this video I snipped my hair, over 6 inches. I've never cut hair before, but it looks so good! I am totally happy. Thanks for the advice, simply explained and easily accomplished.
I am so scared to try this but I really want to take off like 3 inches of my very long hair. Is this as easy as she makes it look? I mean did it work for so someone who's never cut her own hair before?
She makes it more complicated than needed. I have very long hair and I’ve cut it myself forever. Just part it in the middle and bring each of the two sides to the front (similar to what she did). Brush the hair of each side straight down and using your fingers to pull it straight, cut straight across the bottom. Do the same to the other side, then compare both sides (both should still be pulled to the front), just to make sure each half is even length. Then you are DONE. Flip your hair back and you are good to go. You don’t need any elastic hair ties! Perfectly straight hair every time!!
This was my 1st time cutting my long hair and this video worked beautifully. Very clearly presented. She gives reasons for doing some things a certain way and,, throughout,, answered questions that had popped into my head. I read the whole thing a couple of times to get the feel for it first. Then I got everything together and went through step by step pausing between each step. I did use hair scissors and can see how they make a positive difference. Highly recommend this video.
Thank you. I haven't had my hair cut in 10 years, so it was past my behind. You made it look so easy, so I cut about 16 inches off. My hair turned out perfectly straight in the back. I switched up a bit & cut the front to frame my face. It looks awesome. Thanks again for sharing your video.
I skipped straight to the part where you part your hair into half to even the cut, since I only wanted a trim to get rid of the dry ends. It worked well and I'm happy with it! Good to know I can easily maintain my hair now as I only go to the hairdressers once a year. Thanks for the video!
Update: I did the full thing this time by cutting off an inch first. Considering it's my first attempt, it's not 100% straight but it's enough to do the job for now!
Bebexo we’re sorryyyy😂😭 we just miss you that’s all we need an update about your baby life if you’re okay with that? If not totally understandable and welcome back!!!
For the first time, I cut my hair using this video and even though I didn't get it perfectly straight, it's difficult to tell. My husband is going to help me fix it tomorrow. The important thing is that I was able to take about 3 inches of hair off, which will help my neck and shoulder pain! Thank you!
I have frozen shoulders (I was born this way)... meaning my shoulders don't move they are locked. I can't raise my arms above my head.. even doing a pony tail is impossible for me. My whole life I've been unable to "do" my hair. Basic things like jst washing n brushing are difficult for me. I like to keep my hair about shoulder length so I can manage it. Any way... with a lil help from my hubby I was able to do this! He did the ponytail and the initial cut for me...I did the rest!! Im soooo thankful for your video! This is the only video I've seen that's so simple and doesn't involve having to part, lift and separate hair all over your head(which i can't do). My hair was way too long for me so I went for it and cut about 6inches off! It needed it tho...I went way to long without even a trim(about 2yrs 🤦♀️🤦♀️) I'm very happy with the way my hair looks now!!! Ntm the money I saved! As she says in the video...b sure to use sharp hair scissors!! I didnt have any so i used the sharpest pair I had(they weren't sharp enough), it was more difficult to cut and had to do more touch ups. I will be picking up a pair of good hair cutting scissors!! Again thanks so much for sharing this! My next diy hair cut ill be trying the adding layers(your video) even a year later this video is still helping ppl! Your amazing!
I always keep coming back to your video even though it has been years ago because your tutorial is the easiest to understand & follow...thank you so much💕
This is a great tutorial. It was the 3rd and last one I tried since finally I got rid of all the fried ends with your technique. The end result is even better than after the hairdresser.
Tried this and my hair looks ok--no need to run to a stylist to get it fixed up! i really just wanted it shorter but not super lopsided, and this worked for that!
Thank God for you and this video. First one that I've seen that is easy to understand, helped me cut my hair the way I wanted, and fix my blunder after I tried following another video.
I just did this and am really impressed with my hair! It could look better, but also the shears I used were cheap trash that came in the hair clipper kit I use on my 2 year old boys. Really not bad at all considering my limitations! Thanks!!!
Heyy... wanted to give my hair a try during this lock down period and saw your video which i found super easy so i cut my hair and they turned out really good.. M soo happy... Thanks for sharing this video..it helped me very much.. 😘😍
Omg I just used your old video to cut my hair last week!!! It turned out pretty well! Looking forward to trying this method out next time I need a hair cut!! Hope you're doing well! ❤
Wow! Found this gem looking for haircut diy. My hair was SUPER LONG, butt length and thick and getting really dry and straggly towards the ends, yuck! I didn’t want to spend $ on a haircut. This is the first time I’ve followed a tutorial that actually worked! It’s a little past my shoulders now. Hair feels much healthier now, thank you!!!
I just tried this (first time seriously cutting my own hair) and I took 10+ cm, and it looks very good! This tutorial is amazing and very efficient, so I really do recommend it!
I cut my really long hair upto my waist line today (that was good 8 inches) using this method.. im really impressed they turned out straight..thankyou for the video👍
i tried a different tutorial last time and it didn't go well. Thankfully my 15 year old niece helped me fix it lol. This time I will try this tutorial and hope she can fix it if I mess it up. :D
I was so sick of my hair length that last night I chopped off about 9 inches. No regrets because it's still till my mid back. Now, I am going to use your tutorial to to the finishing touches. Thank you.
omg this worked so well it was my first time i ever cut my hair and i cut a lot i didnt even have to go back to cut it to make it straight bc it was already straight thank u
I have very long, straight, fine hair and it worked perfectly. The only thing I struggled with, was tying the strands tight enough so the elastic wouldn't fall out at the ends. Had a friend clean up my end result and she only had to perfect two little spots but also said it would have been fine as is. Took me less than 30 mins, even with my hair tie struggles :D Thanks ♥
Thank you! Thank you!! So glad I watched your video. It worked great! Thanks for the tip to straighten my hair first. I have a lot of waves so I blow dried with a round brush and got it pretty smooth to start. I cut about 3 inches and it feels and looks so much better!!!
Thank you for this tutorial! The way I was doing it wasn't as easy and it was a pain to get my hair even. I followed your steps but with wet hair at first because I have better control that way, and then I redid some of the steps with dry hair for final touch ups. I love the results!
Thank you so much!! I used to cut very little hair before cuz I was afraid of uneven hair and I didn't wanna spend big bucks on salons, I chopped off half my hair length (hair length came upto my butt) cuz my hair grows quick and I need to cut it every 3-4 months and now I can do it at the comfort of my home
Today i cut my hair about the fourth time from 2021, playing your video. First time it took 1 hour because i was so excited but today i finished in 20 minutes wow :). Thank you forever!
Great video! Short, sweet, to the point, helped me successfully cut my hair at home by myself! Of course it’s not perfect for my first time but my hair is thanking me! As a person with wavy hair, straightening it allowed me to follow the video steps 😊

You did an excellent video job. Best video I've seen yet on blunt cut. Your results are great. It's good how you videotaped the hair cut lesson first without any audio, & then put your audio explanation over it. Too many young women talk too much & act like silly airheads, but yours was professional & to the point.
Thank you I cut my hair today followed your video and it looks great. Husband helped at the end, I am 61 and am thinning at the top of my head But have always liked long hair so i am very happy Thank you, My first hair cut for 18 months, mainly because the thinning on top is embarrassing for me. Thank you
Hello again, thank you for another tutorial. I’ve used your layered tutorial for years and it’s funny I came back to you after feeling like I wanted to try a one layered haircut. Your hair is still as beautiful as always~
