    I have to change springs out to heavier ones. Thanks for the video, you did a great job. Thanks for the tip with the jack and to check/replace the spacers. Much appreciate your time making the video.

    Those spring spacers I'll have to look at mine and see what my stock ones look like that's a great tip that you added.

      They help so much. My factory wore right through the bushings and were going into the metal.

    My 2009 Renegade 1200 has SC5 and was wondering if you think an rMotion would fit the mount holes? I'm thinking of that or I'll put HD torsions in as my tail flap drags and it's always fully coupled with 260 lb (dressed) me on it. I heard they're set up for 180 lb so do you think HD springs will likely fix that? Part of the problem is Pro40 front shocks that jacked the front up 2.5" higher than stock so front of track doesn't have much pressure. Since then it's seemed the poor stock torsions have more weight transferred onto them even when unladen which is another reason for HD torsions. Front arm shock is a stiffly valve Elka Stage 5 and torsions are on 5 but still sags way too much even empty. With me on it I'm pretty sure the blocks contact and as stated the flap drags constantly.

    Good video. I just replaced the rear shock and now I'm looking for stiffer replacement springs for my 2005 Rev SC10-3 suspension.

      What is your weight if you don’t mind me asking. May need stuffer or just the blocks turned. I believe they are set up for around a 180LB rider.

      @@Schneids15 I'm 230 lbs dressed. I was considering installing the spacers before I purchase new springs. Blocks are maxed out.

      New springs is the best choice. The spacers are good but i would go for new springs first.

      @@Schneids15OK, thanks for the advice. Would you recommend the same springs you used? I'm probably heavier than you.

    • @Schneids15
      @Schneids15  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would recommend stiffer. The thing is this suspension is different than yours. It will require other springs. Go to a ski doo website and look up your torsion springs and other numbers will be there. Otherwise check dootalk forums they will have something. Or call the dealer which sometimes is useless.

    On reassembly, how do you get the front part of the spring back into the bracket behind the wheel? Looks like it has a good amount of pressure under it? Pry bar?

    I have a 2016 Renegade XRS 800 and have the quick adjusts on my sled. The problem I am having is the skidoo sags, I have not tightened up the quick adjust on the left of the sled past 4, just wondering if maybe the Torsion springs have worn out on my sled. I did buy it used with 10,000km on it, it is in great condition but when out the other day I noticed the snow flap on the ground and dragging and it almost felt like I was riding on the track. Could replacing the Torsion springs on this sled help with this issue? I believe everything on it is factory, I also have the link attachment for the Jerry can and also some saddle bags and can convert from a one seater to a two seater, so my other concern is by putting two people on the sled with it already sagging it going to be a problem. How big a Torsion spring if this is the issue would I need to go to? Thanks - Tim Yeaman

      Hey Tim. Honestly i would pull out your shocks and get them rebuilt before messing with torsion springs. Can almost guarantee your rear shock needs rebuilt by the sounds of it.

      You will need your shocks rebuilt as well as the heavy duty torsion springs 270 and 271. Check your left side Quick Adjuster is actually acuating (moving the torsion springs)... a lot of them leaked and need rebuilt.

    Nice video. Were the fasteners for the adjusters on the running boards originally rivets or did they come with bolt/nut? Did you find it easier to change out the springs with the track loosened or does it not matter?

    • @Schneids15
      @Schneids15  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      They were originally bolts i believe. Bought the sled used though. No need to loosten the track.

    I replaced the retainer cushion and spring support one one side, but the other side, jeeez. I can’t get the under tension spring/rod thingy up in to position to get the new cushion/ support in place and on. Aaargh.
