- When you think of Breguet watches, the first word that comes to mind is probably guilloche. The maison is widely celebrated for their engine-turned dials, truly decorated by hand in a world where many other brands have moved towards stamping their dials. But, the Breguet brand is by no means one-dimensional. Sure, the brand’s namesake makes you think of tourbillons, and a beloved numeral-set and handset. Today, for its 70th anniversary, we have a celebration of Breguet’s history with aviation and the new fourth generation of their famed Type XX watch: the new Breguet Type 20 ref. 2057 and Breguet Type XX ref. 2067

Ahhh it's so shiny and perfect! But I gotta say, I find the date placement jarring.
❤Britt❤
Most people want a date though. It’s a beauty
I wish they would have built this a bit smaller, say a 39mm and didn't bother with the date window.
Smaller would have worked better for my 6.5 inch wrist, but the case camber makes it a more wearable 42mm for sure. And, who knows, never say never to a smaller size. This is just the beginning. -Z
What's up with the date window placement --- disrupts the symmetry.
In my conversations with the brand, the placement has more of an emphasis on a technical perspective than an aesthetic perspective - or rather the perspective of aesthetics informed by function. In order to ensure the most legibility of the indications the 4:30, as purist-problematic as it may be, is the most functional as it does not cut off any of the three registers. -Z
Beautiful but ruined by the date window.
Swiss Made under the date window looks ridiculous!
How to make an ugly date window even worse…
It definitely causes an initial shock, as it is, or now ‘was’, something never really done. But, referring to another comment I replied to, I have since learned the placement allows there to be no compromise to outer track at the 6’ position. Every hour index is the same size. With ‘Swiss Made’ at 6’ this would not have been the case. -Z
@@Timeandtidewatchesbloody great point
As a fan of the Type XX it is a beautiful watch. Having the 4:30 date doesn't bother me. My problem is the price. Makes the Breitling AVI at a third of the price look pretty good.
You do realise that Breguet is on another level to Breitling? It costs more because Breguet is a more prestigious and well regarded watchmaker. Breguet is supposed to be competing with Patek, VC, AP, JLC and Lange rather than Breitling. Nothing wrong with Breitling but they positioned just above Tag and Tudor and below Omega and Rolex.
Would have preferred the 38.5mm size of the original they're based on
Some great close ups.
Definitely appreciate these and the history of the brand.
Beautiful, crisp and sporty.
Great review, but how did you say the price without scoffing.
🤷♂️
2067
Love it ruined by the date window and the price
Date windows dont bother me
Longines big eye over this for a fraction of price
Same! Love it!! Even Breitling 765 for half price
Regarding the date on the 2067 - my preference - in person the date is not so distracting or overwhelming. You must try the watch on, as the photos in many reviews enlarge it.
A beautifully executed piece in total.
Why does omega insist on 5atm watches?
"The watches share the same large winding crown"?? No, they do not!
Beautiful. 39 to 40mm would be nice.
Like so many, I believe the date window ruins these watches. Without the date, I would be in. With it, no way.
TGV would love this
Great video and closeups! I'm sort of in between the two. I really like the coin edge bezel at times as well as the diamond crown on the military, plus the green is unique and different. But I also like the hour markers on the bezel and the no digit 15 minute totalizer of the civilian better. If I had to choose, I'd go with the civilian today, but yesterday my answer was different.
Unfortunately ugly datewindow and the swiss made print, which ruins the watch as a modern original completely
Don't like the black dial, chopped off numbers look amateurish, date placement is also not good. It's a no from me.
Both beautiful in their own right, but gotta go with the Civilian version.
Nice video mate 🥃
Your camera works is insane, keep going!!
Love everything (including the date) but the size is a bit much at 42mm... why not the same vintage proportions as the only watch version?
I’ll stick with my Hanhart 417es 1954 flyback. The date window is almost as ridiculous as the price!
Oh very nice, these are very good.
Currently looking for a chrono. This comes so close! That date is just a no-go. Was looking at the JLC Polaris chrono which looks perfect to me, but no running secondhand. Also deal breaker. So hard to find a good chrono. 😢
I'd go with the Breitling Classic AVI P-51 Mustang.
Amazing! I'd take any, but have a slight preference for the 2067
2067, but man I wish the date was at 6 or even better, not there.
3800 was much better than either of these imp
The date window destroys the dial harmony.
No Thanks!😉
I'd be a buyer with a NO DATE dial. Unfortunate
Авторы, вам, видимо, всё равно, что рекламировать, так ведь? Лишь бы приносили деньги?
2067 looks amazing!!
date is totally irrelevant
A piece of art!
A tad too big but beautiful
A$26,200. And people thought the new IWC Ingenieur was a rip off.
Love the 2057
Shall make 40 mm
The date window is perfect. The asymmetric position has way more style than 3 or 6 oclock windows. A watch without a date is BS. What a stupid trend.
This video felt very zen
🙏
👍
$18 k for Breguet 😳
For that price it should look absolutely perfect and it doesn’t with that hideous date window!! 🤦♂️ I get the movement and it’s Breguet but we should expect perfection
Can’t get past the date window. I’m also not a fan of big eye Chrono. As someone else mentioned, longines big eye looks way better at 1/10th the price.
Personally, I liked the type XXI (3817). Even the date placement at 6 o’clock was well executed. Both of these new watches seemed to miss the mark
They're ok, but I was really hoping for a military grade classic. Quite expensivem, Zenith Pilot Chrono with grand date seems to be a winner here.
I’d just grab the previous version without that date window for around $6500
Will wait for the homage to come out.
case back engraving looks cheap... makes these look like $800 watch
Date window: 0/10
