From the second I started looking at watches, I did not care at all for the hype. My eye was immediately drawn to the Classique 5157. SO SAD THAT IT'S SO SMALL. Shocking to me that Breguet doesn't get the respect I think it deserves as a brand, really glad to see you guys giving it its due.

Great video my favorite brand. Just bought my 4th Marine 5817 yesterday only the yellow gold version to complete the set. To me the the 5817 is the best luxury watch for the money by a mile it's just perfect.

Really informative video, and Marco was epic as usual! I hate the hype/flex watch culture and have never swayed from my love for proper horology. Breguet has always been at the top of my wish list; the brand is grossly underrated and under appreciated. I love Roman's call out of the Reveil Du Tsar alarm piece, as I almost never hear this one mentioned! I actually looked hard at buying this one, but ended up deciding on another obscure alarm watch- the JLC Master Grand Reveil (alarm, perpetual calendar, moonphase). It can actually be had for even a bit less than the Reveil Du Tsar.

When it comes to materials, I always recommend consuming as much content as possible including videos, books, magazines, new articles, etc. There is so much info out there to be learned 😁👍
Amazing segment. You are really setting your self apart from all the other watch channels. Getting a super nerd like Marco in instead of another "Masal!-guy" really improved your content. All the other channels are like: "This is an amazing watch! Why? Because it is easy to sell! Obviously!". No concern for history or horology.

Cold rolled is shaping a piece of metal without heat in a roller or folder
I’m probably of the minority that likes the Breguet type 20 better than the Speedy it’s just more aesthetically appealing to me nothing wrong with the speedy would just choose a type 20 over the speedy personally

Breguet is a forgotten brand in the US market. They have great history and make beautiful watches, but don’t compete effectively with Patek or Lange. According to their website, they make 120 models (392 references). Not sure what their total production is, but that is a lot. In comparison, Patek makes 80 or so models (154 references).
I’m also not a fan of the new Marine line. I think they took a step backwards.
Yup, hence why I think they SERIOUSLY need to trim their model line down by about 50% at least! Just way way way too many models and some of the new models like the Marine are just not up to scratch in my opinion. Appreciate your support on the video 😁🙌
Every time I build my dream collection on the LB site, there’s always 5-6 Breguet watches included. Love this watch maker and I hope they don’t get hyped too much so that I can buy one in the future!
A view from the UK. Cold rolling is simply that. A way of reducing the thickness of a metal between 2 rollers. With iron and steel you need to soften the metal by heating it to be able to work it. With softer metals it is not necessary, they can be worked successfully without heat, hence "Cold Rolled". The softer the metal to smaller increments you use otherwise you will "tear" the metal as in some cases like 18ct gold for instance, it has to be pulled through by hand as the parts are so small.

Breguet overcoil as well. Nearly every high end watchmaker nowadays uses some variation of the Breguet overcoil

Don't know if I will ever be able to afford one, I still have mad, mad respect for Breguet. Love them. If I had the choice of a free Patek Philippe or a Breguet, I would choose a Breguet every second of every day.....🙂

Curious I am. How would you compare Breguet with Jaeger-LeCoultre in terms of greatest watchmaker? I mean the 101 is a SMALL watch still not defeited. And Jaeger-LeCoultre is not for nothing called the watchmaker of watchmakers.

It’s 1:30am and I just watched a 30min+ video without regrets. That Marco kid knows a thing or two about a thing or two.
I am in love with that guilloche. Do you think Breguet does it best? Because I think this might quickly be becoming my next grail watch. A clean dial with stunning guilloche like the Classique
I think currently the best dial maker in the world and guillocheur is Kari Voutilainen and his atelier. However Breguet is right up there and certainly a pioneer when it comes to guilloche in watches 😁🙌

Cold Rolled is the metal being formed into its shape without heat being applied, as its done in most metal forming processes. This process results in a hard smooth finished surface.

I know it would Raise production effort quite a bit but i think you guys should Show a picture of the watch you are mentioning or an example of a watch featuring the certain complication you are currently talking about pretty much every Single time. I think that would raise the quality of the Videos even more because there were quite a few moments in this Video where i would have loved to see what you were talking about. For example a "ghetto tourbillon" or one of the breitling tourbillons you were talking about.

Having owned a collection upwards of 20 watches i still only use 1 at a time :D I keep returning to it to this day, my Sky-Dweller. Having a lot of value in a few watches meens you would have one HELL of a single watch :D

Breguet could do an integrated bracelet sports watch, joining the Royal Oak, Nautilus, Zenith defy etc. Maybe using the double eclipse Daniel Roth type case shape. Is there anyone doing an integrated sports watch with guilloche?
I think Czapek Antarctique has a guilloche dial variation but their dial are made by Metalem. But I think Breguet NEEDS an integrated bracelet sports watch just to bring fresh eyes to the company 💯🙌

NITPICKING: it's only pronounced guilloché (with the 'a' sound on the end as you do) if written with th é with the " ' "! Because this is a rare French word that also may be written guilloche without the "' ' " but then yout do not have the 'a' sound on the end, it's then a kind silent 'e' as to say! And the nitpick extra is you forgot the " ' ".
