Simply awesome. I love how we need to understand the Old Testament in order to fully understand Jesus. He is constantly quoting the scriptures and this is His "family story," and we all know how much better we know someone once we've met their family.

Roman cult contradicts the Scriptures in every possible ways!
      RCC vs BIBLE 2
      1. Catholics say Mary was sinless. Yet BIBLE says Mary offered a sinner's offering. Lk 2:23-24, Lev 12:6-8, Rom 3:10.
      2. Catholics say RCC clergies must be celibate. Yet BIBLE says Peter had mother in law. Mat 8:14-15, Mar 1:30-31, Luk 4:38-39.
      3. Catholics say Mary was perpetually virgin. Yet BIBLE says Jesus had brothers and sisters. Mk 6:3, Mat 13:55, Mat 27:56, Mar 6:3, Mar 15:40, Mar 15:47.
      4. Catholics say confess to priests. Yet BIBLE says confess to GOD directly. 1 John 1:9, Mat 6, Romans 10:9-10.
      5. Catholics say drink of the literal blood of Jesus. Yet BIBLE says do not drink blood. Acts 15, Lev 7:26.
      6. Catholics say pray to Mary and "saints". Yet BIBLE says do not contact the dead. Deut 18:11, Isaiah 8:19.
      7. Catholics say their statues are not idols. Yet BIBLE says do not bow down to graven images (statues). Deut 4, Exo 20:4-5.
      8. Catholics say Holy Water. Yet BIBLE mentions nothing about it.
      9. Catholics say Peter was pope. Yet BIBLE says Peter was just a leader of the Jerusalem Church. Gal 2:9, Mat 16:18
      10. Catholics say there is a seat of Peter. Yet BIBLE says nothing about it.
      11. Catholics say there is a NT clergy priesthood. Yet NT says OT priesthood was done away with. There is no clergy priesthood in NT. Heb 7:27, 9:12, 10:10.
      12. Catholics say work for salvation (faith + good works + partake Roman sacraments + believe in roman pontiff + be in roman cult = to be saved). Yet Bible says “believe in Jesus to be saved”. Acts 16:30-31, John 3:16.
      13. Catholics says they must do penance to atone for their sins. Yet Bible says repent, confess and sins will be forgiven. 1 John 1:9, Mat 6.
      14. Catholics say Mary went straight to heaven without dying. Yet Bible says nothing about it.
      15. RCC says Islam and Christianity have the same GOD. Yet Islam doesn't believe in death and resurrection of Jesus and Trinity.
      16. RCC says Sunday is the day of worship, just because Jesus arose on that day. Yet--The HOLY BIBLE says the SEVENTH DAY IS the ONLY day God rested on, blessed and made Holy.--Gen 2:1- 3, Ex 20:8-11.
Roman Catholicism is full of contradiction and anti Scriptures. Nothing is more evil than a catholic disguising as Christianity deceiving many.

Also... Some Catholic priests teach that when Jesus washed His disciples' feet it was the fulfillment of Leviticus chapter 8 when Moses washed Aaron and his sons to form the Levitical Priesthood. Christ did not wash His disciples' feet only to be humble and charitable, Christ washed His disciples' feet to fulfill the Levitical Priesthood and establish the New Priesthood in the Covenant of His Blood.

Christ said He did not come to abolish the Mosaic Law but to fulfill it. Christ told St. Peter he was clean but if Peter did not allow Christ to wash his feet then Peter had no part in Christ...that is more than just charity, that's ceremonial washing that fulfilled Leviticus 8.
Why didn't Christ wash Lazarus' feet? Why didn't Christ wash Martha's feet? Why didn't Christ wash Mary Magdalene's feet? Why wasn't it a big neighborhood feet washing festival? It's because Christ fulfilled the Levitical priesthood with the ceremonial washing of His Apostles.

Matthew Aislabie I think you’re actually right. Catholics had the Bible First, held to a certain set of beliefs, and then the Reformers added “new insights” that ignored the Church Fathers. Or else what would they be reforming? Also, Before English, you do realize that Hebrew, Latin and Greek were the native tongues of those who did have access to the Bible, right? Christianity didn’t start with Martin Luther. Because if it did, we would all be Lutherans.

    • @jimmyrumney4379
      @jimmyrumney4379 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Matthew Aislabie I am pretty sure a guy that started his own religion is the one with the fixation. You missed the point. Luther had the Bible translated incorrectly into German, and spawned a revolution. That same revolution started by him spawned thousands of different denominations that are all based on the Bible but teach different things than the Catholic Church originally taught. Protestants think “true” Christianity started when Luther bailed his thesis to the door in Wittenberg and that Jesus and the apostles spoke the Kong’s English.

    •  5 ปีที่แล้ว

@@jimmyrumney4379 So let me get this straight,
      1. You do Not want to have the Bible in English. but it must only be read in Latin in a Catholic church, as per Romes doctrine.
      2. You want to inforce the Roman policy of burning at the stake any person that dares Translate the Bible into English (or any other native tongue).
      ...ok I got it.
      At least Catholics are consistent.

    • @jimmyrumney4379
      @jimmyrumney4379 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Matthew Aislabie Neither of those are Catholic doctrines Or dogmas. Sad strawman argument. The Bible can absolutely be translated into English. That is not the argument. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass should be in Latin as it was for centuries before the Reformation. THis is a historical fact.
Heresy is heresy. Which denomination do you belong to?

quote----I can’t help but stand in awe of our beautiful Church and the Apostolic succession.--unquote
Quite simply, no one after the 1st century had the Biblical qualifications to be an "apostle."
When the original eleven apostles wanted to replace Judas, here's what was required: Acts 1:21-22. He had to be someone who had accompanied Jesus on His earthly ministry and who had witnessed the resurrected Christ before His ascension.
This is why there is no such thing as apostolic succession. No one after the first century is qualified to be called an "apostle."
As for the Roman church being the "first" church, Jesus does not even mention the Roman church in Revelation, where He specifically noted the church in Smyrna as remaining faithful through persecution (Rev 2:10) and the church in Philadelphia as a church that persevered (Rev 3:10).
What a perfect opportunity for Jesus to uphold the church in Rome if He felt it was the model of how churches should be or the "one and only original church" but He did not even mention them.
The Catholic church is NOT the true original church and the Pope is not an apostle.

We have also be mindful of the words that Jesus said on Holy Thursday nite " Do this in memory of me" that is where the Ministerial Priesthood started and the first priests were the 12 Apostles. Juda was one of the ordained priets on that night but his priesthood ended in betrayal. We Catholics must remember what that means when today's priests are being removed because of sexual misconduct and many other reasons. Looking forward to more simple explanations of the 70 and the 12.

Which is why in their no-liturgy churches, they just do preaching then some shout about Holy Spirit healing. That's it.

It is the most terrible tragedy of the entire Church, all over the world, by all of the Christians; that all of the parishioners, don't say Mass for themselves and families and clergy.
I'm not ordained by human hands, but trust me in this, I'm Very Very Very Ordained.
I taught two protestants how to say Mass in minutes. I told them that I would prove to them that this works, and at 12 PM tomorrow, they would feel a buzzing sensation going through them. "That will be God going through them as I say Mass for them at 12PM," I told them.
Exact at 11:55 AM the next day, I felt a buzzing sensation going through my body, like someone was saying Mass for me.
They were just believing protestants and unordained, uneducated, and believers in Jesus, Our Lord and Savior. That is all, One male and One female.
About 12 years ago, I said Mass for myself, and asked God to give me the knowledge of the future. About 9 years ago, I looked right into the future to see Obama win his election by 281 electoral college votes, "three days," before the voting took place.
I immediately spread it all over Twitter and sent tweets off to Nancy Pelosi, MSNBC News, Kelly O'Donnell, Obama about seeing the final vote of 281; and the tweets are still on Twitter under Gary James Shields, on that time line spoken about above.
    TRUST ME ON THIS ONE.
You could have all of the Parishes, all over the planet, praying for you both to live another hundred years with age regressing body's. You could have some praying for you to have Angels with you to talk to, Healing Powers, the Ability to Walk in the Water, To be bullet proof, to be invisible whenever your need to be, to be able to levitate and fly, A N Y T H I N G ! ! !
500,000,000 Masses all said on the same day for you two; and you would have snapped your fingers and things would have been done for you.
There is still time. Time is of the Essence ! ! ! DON'T IGNORE ME ! I Speak from Experience, Verily.
Ask me what to ask God to give to you and I will instantly pray and say Mass for you to receive it. Reply to me in this comment section, and I will do it for you.
Faith is, replying to this message and telling me what you would want.
The rest is up to me and God.
Those who call upon the Name of the Lord, shall not be disappointed.

I don't see "priests" listed in the New Testament as an office of the Church. Priests were done away with as they were part of the sacrificial system in the Jewish Temple that Yeshua (later re-named "Jesus" by the Gentiles) prophesied would be destroyed. I do see offices listed clearly, such as pastors, teachers, preachers, apostles, prophets, evengelists, helps/admin., deacons, disciples (which means "student" in Hebrew) and also elders and bishops, but I do not see archbishops, priests, cardinals, popes, archdeacons, nuns, monks, beatified "saints," church wardens, sextons, padres, chaplains, parsons, vicars, reverends, titles such as "Your Grace," "Your Eminence," "Your Holiness" etc., nor "lay" people, moderators, professors, doctors (of religion), abbots, clerical celibacy, prayers for the dead, veneration of Mary, purgatory, incense (Temple again), candles, bells, steeples, stained-glass windows, altars (Temple), statues (graven images forbidden in the Ten Commandments), dead bodies buried in church sanctuaries or grounds (pagan practice), clerical vestments (Temple priesthood and robes of the Roman Senate), and a whole host of man-made traditions, terms and offices that Scripture does not ordain or condone.
The simple example of the New Testament Church is clear, for the first 100 years of the Jewish Church in Jerusalem from c 33 CE to 135 CE when the Gentile Europeans from Rome ethinically cleansed the Holy City of any Jews, including Christian Jews that were still residing in the city.
From that point after 13 Jewish bishops in Jerusalem the office was taken over by Gentiles and the Church concentrated on de-Judaizing itself to the point of being unrecgonisable with so many new "holy days" and celebrations, fasts and feasts, man-made offices and titles which the New Testament nor Yeshua Himself ever enjoined, but which is now accepted without question.
Would Yeshua recognise the institutionalised form of His Church that exists instead today?

    • @scented-leafpelargonium3366
      @scented-leafpelargonium3366 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@po18guy I'm sure he will from HIS point of view and solely from an ORTHODOX perspective. I was looking more to direct truth and tradition from the Bible itself and early Church history (which was 100% Jewish for the first 100 years of the Church in Jerusalem, with non-Jews only taking full dominance after that point, only because Europeans - from Rome - ethnically cleansed the Holy City of its Jewish inhabitants in 135 CE, ending the consecutive line of some 13 Jewish bishops stemming from James, or as he would have been called by his brother YESHUA, Ya'akov or Jacob, the name "James" seemingly stemming from the "King James" Bible, with the king's name being included in the "translation" in order to appeal to the king's vanity and to obtain his support for their project). All Orthodox, Roman Catholic, Coptic, Armenian, and all the various streams of Protestantism became established after the original early Jewish Church died out.
The Apostle John (Yochanan) established what became termed "Quartodeciman" churches across Asia Minor before his death who were Sabbath-keeping, Passover-observing believers, hence the name "Quartodecian" for "quarto" meaning "four" and "dec" meaning "ten" equalling "fourteen" for the date of the crucifixion according to the Bible, that of Nisan 14th, not from later man-made tradition of "Good Friday," tying it to a day of the week rather than to the actual date, when in fact "Friday" or the "sixth day of the week" is NOWHERE mentioned in the Gospels, but only the term "Preparation Day," which many non-Jewish clergy and Bible scholars assumed was the day before the weekly Sabbath day on what is now called by Gentiles in the West "Saturday" after the god "Saturn," when in fact this "Preparation Day" was the day preceding the ANNUAL Passover Sabbath which can fall on ANY day of the week, making the "Friday-to-Sunday" tradition (based on days of the week, instead of on tangible Biblical dates provided by God) to be based totally on man-made ASSUMPTION at best and egregious ERROR at worst! This is bad!!
This is likely what an Orthodox or any Gentile denominational "priest" would defend, as part of ecclesiastical tradition invented and upheld by MEN, rather than what is in the Bible and established by GOD. Man can make mistakes, including clergy, whereas God cannot lie. 🙏

@@johnosumba1980 If you can quote a verse from the New Testament with the term "ministering priest" in it as an office of the New Testament Church I would "see" it, but you'll have to provide that Scripture verse, as I haven't "seen" it yet. I am always happy to be proven wrong.
The New Testament describes ALL BELIEVERS in spiritual terms such as " kings and priests," and also "sons of God," but I don't see any kings reigning in the churches with their crowns on.
As for actual offices of the Church, the office of "priest" is not included. The only mention of priests in the Bible were pertaining to the Temple and the Tabernacle that began with Aaron the brother of Moses forming the Levitical priesthood, which made up the Israelite tribe of Levi.
The coming of Yeshua, before His Name was changed by the Gentiles to "Jesus," introduced a completely new system after He prophesied the Temple's destruction which included the Levitical priesthood, replacing it with an "all-body" Church made up of many differing parts, such as teachers, prophets, evangelists, pastors, apostles, helps/admin, but no longer any "priests."
All the ordinances pertaining to the sacrificial system which atoned for sin in an imperfect way were nailed to the Tree (but not the Law of God itself, as some Gentiles claim), such as the no longer needed altars, priestly vestments, incense, and ornate edifices, even though many of these things are employed by Gentiles today as part of their system, but they are obsolete.
The New Testament church met in homes and synagogues, which is the generic word for "meeting house," not something pertaining exclusively to Jews as some Gentiles view it, as the word "church" means "congregation," and means the PEOPLE, not a BUILDING, and the same word "kehilah" in Hebrew was used to describe the congregation of Israel in the wilderness, although the Jewish believers did still go to the Temple to witness and worship until it was destroyed by the European Gentiles from Rome in 70 CE, giving 40 golden years of the Jewish Church in Jerusalem.
The Hebrew word for "priest" is "COHEN," and today Jewish descendants of those priests or "COHANIM," have the name "Cohen" as their family surname from the tribe of Levi, from which tribe the mother of Yeshua, Miriam, named after Aaron & Moses sister, Miriam, meaning in Hebrew "bitter mother," as she would see her son crucified, as her son would become the Great High Priest in order of Melchizedek or "MELECH-TZEDEK" in Hebrew, meaning "KING OF RIGHTEOUSNESS", as Joseph's lineage was of the royal line of Judah and King David, giving Yeshua the descent of both KING & PRIEST, so that the religious Jews could see His identity.
There are plenty of godly offices in the Church in order for God's people to serve and minister unto Him, but it no longer includes priests, vestments, altars (for Yeshua was sacrificed once for all) or incense (as the prayers of the saints ascend to God like incense, and incense was an accompaniment to help diguise the smell of so many animals being slaughtered at once).
However, we are all adopted spiritually as heirs and sons, kings and priests, but not as actual "offices."
      Shalom-peace 🌿🕊

@@scented-leafpelargonium3366 The English word “priest” is derived from the Greek word presbuteros, which is commonly rendered into Bible English as “elder” or “presbyter.” The ministry of Catholic priests is that of the presbyters mentioned in the New Testament (Acts 15:6, 23). The Bible says little about the duties of presbyters, but it does reveal they functioned in a priestly capacity.
They were ordained by the laying on of hands (1 Tm 4:14, 5:22), they preached and taught the flock (1 Tm 5:17), and they administered sacraments (Jas 5:13-15). These are the essential functions of the priestly office, so wherever the various forms of presbuteros appear-except, of course, in instances which pertain to the Jewish elders (Mt 21:23, Acts 4:23)-the word may rightly be translated as “priest” instead of “elder” or “presbyter.”

Jesus is our High Priest it says in Hebrews 4:14, “Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.” And, Hebrews 8:1-2, “Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such a high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.” There is no mention of a priest in the New Testament, except in reference to the priest, or high priest in the Old Testament.

presbyter is used in the book of Acts itself, "priest" is the english word that comes from a shortening of presbyter.

Why it was Luke the exgentile and not Matthew the Jew to write about the 70.

John 20:30 "There were many other signs that Jesus worked in the sight of the disciples, but they are not recorded in this book." So, not everything was written down by the Gospel writers.
The Gospels were destined to be read by different people. Luke was a doctor with (presumably) a "scientific" mind. He put everything down in the right order (Luke 1:3) - as opposed to Mark who wrote for the Romans as he had heard Peter teaching, by themes - and gathered as much information from as many direct witnesses as he could find. He wrote for Theophilus, someone we can only speculate about but who was being evangelized by Luke. Matthew wrote for the mainly Jewish Christians of Jerusalem. He was leaving and so he put down on paper what he taught orally. He didn't have time to research, he just wrote what he'd witnessed and what he knew to be true.
If all the Gospels were identical then that would be sure proof that they are fake. You ask 4 different people what a party was like, you'll get 4 slightly different descriptions.

Evan Nongrum Luke was probably a Hellenistic Jew. His gospel is very jewish just in a different way than Matthew. The “theophilus” he’s addressing the Gospels and Acts to could likely be one of the Jewish High Priests, one of which was named Theophilus. He cared about gentiles but a lot of his structure and details shows us he knows way too much about Judaism to be a normal gentile.

@@TheKingAmongThem Maybe, but I'm not sure that St. Luke couldn't have picked up the cultural/cultic practices from other Jews living in almost every Greek town (the diaspora), from St. Paul with whom he traveled and from the people he interviewed to write this Gospel.

Seems rather Odd to me because Apostle Paul Said NO One was Baptized into Peter, Apollo or Paul!!! Apostle Peter also Said listeh to Apostle Paul!!! NO hierarchy among the Apostle's!!! Apostle Paul also made it Clear in the Book of Roman's about the Church already Founded & He NEVER Went where Any other Apostle had Gone!!!

Why do Catholics REFUSE to obey God and HIS HOLY WORDS??? By praying to Mary, Catholics are implying God is a lair!!! Does God lie???
!!!!1 Peter 5:6----Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
(John 14:6-----“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”). Christians are often criticized for claiming that Jesus is the only way to God.
-----Do you really think God appreaciates the implication that He is a liar?
----John 14:13-14 13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.
-----1 Tim 2:5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus,)
Exodus -=---The NAME of Jesus!!! --Not the name of Mary!!! Not Joseph
    Not Michael!!! Not The Pope.
I suggest you read this-----From the catholics so-called first "Pope"
Acts 5:29 When Peter and the other apostles answered and said, "We ought to obey God rather than man".
Catholics REFUSE to even obey their so-called first pope. Why would anyone expect them to obey God when they REFUSE to even obey Peter?????

Okay: the one that drives me battiest especially since the poor Saint is so 'elevated' by some protestants, but trying to ignore that: St. Paul. *Anything* where he's typefied in the OT? I keep trying to fit him in as _...an Eliseus_ (Elisha) - he was hungry to have that double-portion of Elias (Elijah). A few other things I won't get in to because ultimately, timing is a failure. Can't look it up because there are some REAL WEIRDOS (basically, Marcionists) who say heinous and blasphemous things before you can figure out WHY Google search led you there.
Of course not everyone in the NT _had_ to be foretold, prophesied, or typefied. It's just that I've read through the OT a few times, and typifying St. Paul seems to be right at the tip of my tongue! _...and then it fails._ I sort of like Jeremias/Baruch for St. Paul/St. Luke (rhymes!). But really Ezechiel seems to be a better fit (HUGE vision, same time period as some other big prophets, among whom are the minor prophets and prophets we don't know much about). I guess since my Bible says St. Paul wrote Hebrews, that tips the scale towards Ezechiel, who does the Church/Temple as St. Paul does in Hebrews. Poor Ezechiel also has a good part of the Prophets section, and is sorely purposefully "misunderstood" [to mean heathen things like, the Jews get a do-over with "the third temple" 🤦‍♀️ instead of the common understanding of Ezechiel talking about *the Church.* Poor guy...)
So if you could do me a solid and just, if you have anything about where St. Paul is typefied in the OT, that would be nice. 😇

Perhaps Paul is the Sign of Jonah but greater? Lots of similarities - Tarshish, shipwrecked, imprisoned, 180 degree transformation, preaching to the gentiles ( surely highly unusual in th OT)

Eusebius tells us that the 70 were also the main Church leaders well after Jesus ascended.
