Coming from a Messianic Jewish background, I have always understood Jesus in the Passover, but you have given me the missing piece that has inspired me to go through RCIA and join the Catholic faith. I am hungry for His Presence.

Yes, the Jewish Passover Meal (lamb, unleavened striped/pierced bread, bitter herbs) represented/pointed to the suffering and death of the future sinless Jewish Messiah -- *but the lamb or unleavened striped/pierced bread DID NOT turn into the Messiah's flesh when the Jews physically ate it.*
If you are using the Bible properly, WHY would you assume that the NT Communion Meal (leavened bread, wine) *that represents the Messiah's victory by his body on the cross being cursed with all of our sins and all of GOD's judgement for our sins* -- John 12:31-33, Galatians 3:13, 1Peter 2:24, 2Corinth 5:21 -- *would turn into the Messiah's actual flesh/blood when "christians" eat it ???* That is NOT using Biblical typology or patterns correctly.
Besides, you are calling Jesus a SINNER if you are saying that Jesus was telling the Jews to drink his actual blood of the sin sacrifice, according to Jesus himself in Matthew 5:19-20 (Leviticus 17:10-11). Shame on you -- if you really do have a Messianic Jewish background, you would KNOW this Truth.

according to Jesus, if Jewish Jesus (under the Jewish Law, Gal 4:4) was telling the Jews to drink his actual sacrificed blood, then Jesus was a SINNER (Matthew 5:19-20) for teaching the Jews to disobey God's Command to NEVER drink the blood of the sin sacrifice but to place the blood on the altar (Leviticus 17:10-11). Jesus FULFILLED that Law/Command (Matthew 5:17) when Jesus placed his sacrificed blood on the altar in Heaven for the ETERNAL ATONEMENT/payment for all of our sins (Hebrews 9:12,26).

USARSUPTHAI The Lord’s building of His church began on the day of Pentecost (Acts2:1-4,41-42).The Lord is not building His church in Christendom, which is composed of the apostate Roman Catholic Church and the Protestant denominations. This rock refers to Christ, a revelation that Peter received from the a Father. The church is built on Christ and on this revelation concerning Christ.
The Pope that is the false prophet is from the generation when the Lord returns...He is coming soon so that makes this Pope the one.

So you are calling Jewish Messiah Jesus a sinner ?? Matthew 5:19-20
There is no drinking sacrificed blood for God's people (Acts 15:20, Leviticus 17:10-11)
The sacrificed blood is ONLY to go ON THE ALTAR for our atonement/forgiveness of our sins.
Jesus FULFILLED Leviticus 17:10-11 when Jesus placed his sacrificed blood on the altar in Heaven, giving Believers ETERNAL ATONEMENT/forgiveness of all of our sins (Hebrews 9:12,26).
Jewish Jesus (under the Law of Moses, Galatians 4:4) did not fulfill Leviticus 17:10-11 to "NEVER drink the blood of the sin sacrifice" by telling the Jews to "drink my blood sacrificed for sin" -- blasphemous theology.

Science-is-Truth where could we get facts rather than from the Bible? Look up historians and proof that Jesus Christ lived and rose from death. Most of all your scientific stuff are theories anyway, especially the masonic theory of evolution that seeks to destroy the faith. May God blow your mind one of these days and give you a spiritual awakening. Humble yourself before God, science and christianity have been working hand in hand for society’s betterment so sit down.

    • @brit1066
      @brit1066 4 ปีที่แล้ว

西方是同性恋 Well to start with there are very few FACTS IN THE BIBLE.
Information contained in the Bible comes in two varieties, historical event that can be validated from many other sources.
And FAIRY TALES that have no method of validation.
Historical events can be seen such as the finding of the remains of Egyptian chariots in the Red Sea, this lends credence to the story of Exodus.
But NONE OF THE EVIDENCE PROVES THAT A GOD LEAD THE ISRAELITES OUT AND GAVE THEM THE TEN COMMANDMENTS.
Everything in the Bible follows a similar path, historical events that actually happened and RELIGIOUS CLAP TRAP that cannot be proved.
I do HOPE you understand the difference.
There is NO EVIDENCE ANYWHERE THAT JESUS CHRIST ROSE FROM THE DEAD as you say he did, there is just NOTHING BUT BIBLICAL FAIRY TALES.
Now it is also obvious that you KNOW NOTHING ABOUT SCIENCE except for the BULLSHIT YOU HAVE BEEN FED IN CHURCH.
Firstly you try to dismiss SCIENCE by saying that it is only THEORIES.
Stupid, ignorant people think that THEORIES ARE NOT FACTS, BUT THEY ARE.
The COMPUTER YOU ARE USING IS BASED ON A THEORY, did you KNOW that?
The computer is based on the ELECTROMAGNETIC THEORY, AND THE COMPUTER WORKS EXTREMELY WELL, DOESN’T IT?
Yes it is a THEORY, you see THEORIES are EXTREMELY WELL RESEARCHED AND VALIDATED SCIENTIFIC TREATISES.
Almost everything in our modern world is is based on the ELECTROMAGNETIC THEORY, cars, planes, TVs, COMPUTERS, electricity and on and on.
Without that THEORY we would not be able to construct ANYTHING that we use EVERY DAY.
Unlike PRAYERS, that are WORTHLESS, SCIENTIFIC THEORIES WORK AND CAN BE PROVED AND ARE USED BY YOU AND EVERY ONE ELSE EVERY DAY.
So shut your IGNORANT LYING MOUTH.
There is NO EVIDENCE THAT GOD OR JESUS CHRIST EVER EXISTED, NONE.
Science DOES WORK, and it works EXTREMELY WELL.
JUST SHUT THE HELL UP YOU MORON.

Well done indeed - for stating the same Doctrines that Catholic Theologians have been preaching and thereby safeguarding for 2000 years. That is the beauty of the Catholic Church, it's Doctrines, Dogmas and Sacraments are all rooted in Scripture - unchanging, because Truth can not be altered, or we (sometimes unknowingly) succumb through our own lack of knowledge, to preaching Heresy and error..

Jesus came to FULFILL the Law of Moses (Matt 5:17), and Jesus fulfilled God's Law in Leviticus 17:10-11 when Jesus placed his blood on the altar in Heaven to give us Eternal Atonement/forgiveness of our sins (Hebrews 9:12,26). Jesus didn't fulfill God's command in Leviticus 17:10-11 to NEVER DRINK BLOOD by telling people to DRINK BLOOD..... duh.

@@veritasmuy2407 Firstly if what you're saying is true when Jesus did away with the levitical prohibitions on eating certain foods then he's a sinner. Which he isn't. You should be careful where your logic will take you. When Christ came and fullfilled the laws of Moses he came to perfect them. The laws given to the ancient Hebrews was not God's ideal way of living for us but was made to soften their (our) hearts for what was to come next (Jesus).
You need to read the surrounding text of Leviticus. The prohibition against drinking blood is not that it is evil but(Leviticus 17 11) "since the life of the flesh is in the blood. And I have given it to you to make atonement".
What was Christ if not the final "lamb" of atonement? Since Christ had done this for us there would be no need to have the laws concerning the drinking of blood.
It is not unusual for God to ask his people to do something that could be seen as sacrilege to really drive a point home. When God commanded the Hebrews to kill a lamb they were considered sacred in Eygpt. Remember how long they had been living there approx. 400 yrs. Considering the Israelites affinity for turning away from God (It only took 40 days of Moses being gone before they made a golden calf) how deeply ingrained in them was the Eygptian views on religon and what is considered sacred?

About Jesus and Mary, you said that Jesus is the son of God and then you mention the trinity which confirms that Jesus is God. Jesus is God since he is the son of God ( therefore shares the same Divine nature as the Father ). Mary is called the mother of God (Theotokos in greek _"God-bearer"_ ) simply because Jesus *her Son is God,* ( the second person of the trinity, fully Man and fully God ) and she gave birth to *one divine* person _( possessing _*_two_*_ natures united hypostatically )._
By using this term, the Church is absolutely *NOT saying that she is the mother of the Trinity OR ETERNAL.*
Mary was called mother of God at the council of Ephesus (431 A.D) due to heresy : Nestorianism, which suggests that the two natures of Christ ( Divine and Human ) are two persons loosely united.
About Nestorius, "while claiming to believe in one Christ in two natures, his explanation described the union of two distinct persons: “He who was formed in the womb of Mary was not God himself, but God assumed him. Through him that bears I worship him who is born.” A mother cannot bear a son older than herself, he contended. Therefore, Mary did not give birth to the incarnate Word of God, only to Jesus, the temple or vessel of God. Rejecting the orthodox sense of Theotokos, he opted instead for Christokos (“Mother of Christ”), saying that he could never bring himself to call the Christ-child God. Nestorius concluded that it was not God who suffered and died on the cross, but only the man Jesus."
      Anyway.
Please make the effort to understand Orthodox/Catholic theology with an open heart before criticizing it.

If Roman Catholics took the "time to read" the Holy Scriptures written by the Original Church, they would know that Rome's added traditions regarding the Eucharist are false (Mark 7:7-9,13). WHO brought up the topic of "bread from Heaven/manna" in John 6 ?? NOT Jesus (John 6:28-31). Was Jesus telling the Jews to disobey God's command to "NeVER drink the blood of the sin sacrifice" (Leviticus 17:11) and to actually drink his sacrificed blood ?? NO WAY (Matthew 5:19-20). *HOW did Jesus fulfill God's Command in Leviticus 17:11 that the sacrificed blood for sin was to ONLY go ON THE ALTAR for our atonement/forgiveness of sins ?? Hebrews 9:12,26 -- when Jesus placed his sacrificed blood on the altar in Heaven to give Believers ETERNAL ATONEMENT/forgiveness of all of our sins.* Did the Original Church believe they were drinking the actual blood of Jesus as their sin sacrifice ?? NO (Acts 15:20). Did the Passover Meal (lamb, bitter herbs, etc) that represented the suffering/death of the future Jewish Messiah, actually turn into Messiah's flesh/blood when the Jews ate it ?? NOPE. And neither does the Communion Meal (bread/wine) that represents the victory of the past Jewish Messiah's suffering/death (Hebr 2:14, 1Peter 2:24). READ, Roman, READ the actual words of God (Acts 17:11, 1John 2:27)

St Ignatius Bishop of Antioch (friend of St John . who was known to be the little child of Matthew 18 ) stated in his Letter to the Smyrnaeans .
"Chapter 8. Let nothing be done without the bishop
See that you all follow the bishop, even as Jesus Christ does the Father, and the presbytery as you would the apostles; and reverence the deacons, as being the institution of God. Let no man do anything connected with the Church without the bishop. Let that be deemed a proper Eucharist, which is [administered] either by the bishop, or by one to whom he has entrusted it. Wherever the bishop shall appear, there let the multitude [of the people] also be; even as, wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church. It is not lawful without the bishop either to baptize or to celebrate a love-feast; (Eucharist/aka Marriage Supper of the Lamb of God) but whatsoever he shall approve of, that is also pleasing to God, so that everything that is done may be secure and valid.
      newadvent.org/fathers/0109.htm
He also wrote of the Eucharist.
      St. Ignatius of Antioch (c. 110 A.D.)
I have no taste for corruptible food nor for the pleasures of this life. I desire the Bread of God, WHICH IS THE FLESH OF JESUS CHRIST, who was of the seed of David; and for drink I DESIRE HIS BLOOD, which is love incorruptible. (Letter to the Romans 7:3)
Take care, then, to use one Eucharist, so that whatever you do, you do according to God: FOR THERE IS ONE FLESH OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, and one cup IN THE UNION OF HIS BLOOD; one ALTAR, as there is one bishop with the presbytery… (Letter to the Philadelphians 4:1)
They [i.e. the Gnostics] abstain from the Eucharist and from prayer, because they do not confess that THE EUCHARIST IS THE FLESH OF OUR SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST, flesh which suffered for our sins and which the Father, in his goodness, raised up again. (Letter to Smyrnians 7:1)

    • @onetruefaith5750

PROTESTANTS PLEASE READ VERY CAREFULLY AS IF YOUR “LIFE” DEPENDED ON IT
In the Book of Hebrews Chapter 10 in context the author was talking to “baptized” Christians (Hebrews 10:22) telling them do not be “neglecting to meet together” in “the Church” being the ONE HOLY CATHOLIC AND APOSTOLIC CHURCH. Why “the Church”???
Hebrews 10:26-29 “For IF WE SIN DELIBERATELY after receiving knowledge of the truth, THERE NO LONGER REMAINS A SACRIFICE FOR SINS, BUT A FEARFUL PROSPECT OF JUDGMENT, AND A FURY OF FIRE WHICH WILL CONSUME THE ADVERSARIES………..HOW MUCH MORE PUNISHMENT DO YOU THINK WILL BE DESERVED BY THE MAN WHO HAS SPURNED THE SON OF GOD, AND PROFANED THE BLOOD OF THE COVENANT BY WHICH HE HAS SANCTIFIED, AND OUTRAGED THE SPIRIT OF GRACE”.
What does Sacred Scriptures say “IF WE SIN DELIBERATELY” or willfully break any of the commandments whether the old (10 Commandments) or NEW (Laws of LOVE or refusing to LOVE as Christ did per John 13:34)??? If “THERE NO LONGER REMAINS A SACRIFICE FOR SINS, BUT A FEARFUL PROSPECT OF JUDGMENT”, then how does one obtain reconciliation with GOD again???
We must examine the old covenant to fully understand the NEW COVENANT. Leviticus 5:5-6 and Numbers 5:5-9. GOD in the Books of Leviticus and Numbers any time personal “sin” is mentioned you will read over and over again “THUS THE PRIEST SHALL MAKE ATONEMENT FOR A MAN’S SINS AND IT WILL BE FORGIVEN” (Lev 4:20, 4:26, 4:31,4:35, 5:6, 5:10, 5:13, 5:16, 5:18, 6:7, 7:7, 12:8, 14:18, 14:19, 14:20, 14:29, 14:31, 15:15, 15:30, 16:32, 16:33, 19:22 Num. 6:11,15:25, and 15:28). Clearly in the old covenant, GOD uses ordained “men”, Leviticus Priesthood, to administer His forgiveness.
Now, does GOD keep His covenants and WORD??? GOD promises to have a perpetual priesthood per His covenant in Numbers 25:12-13 and Malachi 2:4-7 and WORD of “forever” in Exodus 29:7-9, 40:15, 1 Chronicles 23:13. GOD promises the perpetual priesthood in the NEW COVENANT PROPHECY of Jeremiah 33:14-22 and in context of “gathering the nations” in Isaiah 66:18 to “some of them also I will take for priests” meaning no longer based on tribal lineage in the NEW COVENANT per Isaiah 66:21. Then, in John Chapter 13 we see Jesus Christ fulfilling Malachi 3:3 prophecy and His Father’s Levi Covenant promise when He sits down in the upper room “purifying” the new covenant priesthood with a “washing” that was a “forever” priestly liturgical practice commanded in Exodus 30:21 to perform any sacrifice or to do any altar work.
What “same” power does the Son of GOD give to the “the Church” per Matthew 16:19, 18:18 and specifically explained to the NEW COVENANT PRIESTHOOD in John 20:21-23??? Additionally, in 2 Corinthians 5:18-20 St. Paul describes what Jesus Christ did was He “GAVE US THE MINISTRY OF RECONCILIATION” and concluded “SO WE ARE AMBASSADORS FOR CHRIST”. An “ambassador” wields what kind of power as an “official representative” of Christ or more specifically explained in “the Church” as “persona Christi”???
Please come to your real home and be “reconciled” to “the Church” HIS ONE BODY (Ephesians 4:4-6). What did Jesus Christ create, pray for in John 17:21-23 and die for??? If you really LOVE Jesus Christ, then you will respond to His prayer and join the “ONENESS” that He created. May GOD richly bless you on your journey.

    • @onetruefaith5750
      @onetruefaith5750 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO BE IN JESUS CHRIST’S ONE CHURCH HE ESTABLISHED???
History and the Bible both point to only ONE CHURCH being established by Jesus Christ: the Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. First, the Bible does not attest to itself as the sole rule of Faith and resolver of
disputes. Instead, we see “the Church” (singular) is the “authority” to resolve faith and moral disputes (Matthew 18:17) and is the “pillar and bulwark of TRUTH” (1 Timothy 3:15). The “pillar and bulwark of TRUTH” states in Catechism #846 there is NO SALVATION outside “the Church”, especially to those who know and refuse to enter Jesus Christ’s ONE CHURCH.
Second, Jesus Christ has ONE HEAD and ONE BODY - “the Church” (Ephesians 1:22-23 and Ephesians 4:4-6). Jesus does not have ONE HEAD and 35,000 different Bodies and growing divisions. Jesus Christ has only ONE BODY and married Himself to ONE BRIDE. Jesus Christ established and prayed for His
ONE CHURCH/BRIDE in John 17:21-23 before giving all of Himself in sacrifice to His ONE BRIDE as “the Bridegroom” (Isaiah 61:10, John 3:29, Matthew 9:15, Matthew 25:6-13, Mark 2:19, Luke 5:34-35). Jesus Christ CANNOT BE MARRIED TO 35,000 DIFFERENT AND GROWING NUMBER OF BRIDES.
Third, Jesus commanded you enter HIS ONE BODY or “Kingdom of GOD” better known as “the Church” through “water (Baptism) and Spirit (Laying of Hands)” in John 3:5. Jesus was fulfilling Ezekiel 36:25-27 prophecy with this requirement. We see this same pattern of “Water (BAPTISM) and Spirit (Laying of Hands)” when new converts were entering the Early Church in Acts 2:38, Acts 8:14-17. In Acts 9:17-18 St. Paul received Baptism and “Laying of Hands”, and then gave the Holy Spirit in this same way in Acts 19:6 to new converts after their Baptism. If you did not enter the ONE HOLY CATHOLIC AND APOSTOLIC CHURCH in this way, then you are currently OUTSIDE HIS ONE BODY. Matthew 7:21-23 will help illustrate this point better - how a “believer” can still be OUTSIDE HIS ONE BODY. Here we have people who obvious “believe” (Faith Alone) in Jesus Christ enough to do “mighty works” in His name. What is Jesus’s response to them in verse 23??? How can Jesus say He never knew them and call them “evil doers”??? It all hinges on verse 21 “NOT EVERYONE WHO
SAYS TO ME, ‘LORD, LORD SHALL ENTER THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN”. Jesus Christ never became known to them through the Holy Eucharist and “Marriage Supper of the Lamb” NEW COVENANT PASSOVER (Luke 22:19-20). YOU HAVE NOT TRULY MET JESUS YET, UNTIL YOU RECEIVE HIM IN THE HOLY EUCHARIST IN HIS ONE “KINGDOM OF GOD”.
Fourth, the “Lamb of GOD” (John 1:29, 1 Corinthians 5:7, 1 Peter 1:19) tells you in every synoptic Gospel what to EAT and DRINK during the Exodus 12:14 “forever” commanded Passover He transformed into the NEW COVENANT PASSOVER (Luke 22:19-20). Further, how the “Lamb of GOD” is needed to be consumed for ETERNAL LIFE (John 6:54). Exodus 12:3-8 with emphasis on verse 8 in the original Passover, could a Hebrew or later Jew refuse or only “symbolically” eat the lamb and have “death Passover”??? What does the “Lamb of GOD” say if you do not partake of Him in His ONE CHURCH in John 6:53 “TRULY, TRULY I SAY TO YOU, UNLESS YOU EAT THE FLESH OF THE SON OF MAN AND DRINK HIS BLOOD, YOU DO NOT HAVE LIFE IN YOU”. Still saved if rejecting the “Lamb of GOD” the way He wants to be accepted into your body in the NEW COVENANT PASSOVER (Luke 22:19-20) in HIS ONE CHURCH???
Fifth, in Leviticus 5:5-6 and throughout the Books of Leviticus and Numbers anytime “personal sin” is mentioned in the old covenant you see a Jew COULD NOT GO DIRECTLY TO GOD FOR FORGIVENESS. Instead it reads “thus the PRIEST SHALL MAKE ATONEMENT FOR A MAN’S SINS, AND IT WILL BE FORGIVEN”. GOD uses certain ordained “men” to administer His forgiveness. What same “power” does Jesus Christ give to certain ordained “men” in the NEW EVERLASTING COVENANT in John 20:21-23? Jesus was fulfilling His Father’s covenant promise to have a “perpetual Priesthood” in Numbers 25:12-13 and Malachi 2:4-7, along with “forever” promises to have a Leviticus Priesthood in Exodus 29:7-9, Exodus 40:15, 1 Chronicles 23:13 and fulfills New Covenant prophecy Jeremiah 33:14-22 and the promise to take “Gentiles” as Priests in Isaiah 66:21. What if a person rejects this priesthood and GOD’s way of having “sins” forgiven??? If sins are logically retained, because of rejecting GOD’s means of forgiveness through His priesthood, then are you still saved???
I pray you consider these points. This is about TRUTH and SALVATION. Remember, Jesus Christ is the way, THE
TRUTH, AND THE LIFE - John 14:6. If you do not seek FULL TRUTH, then do you really have JESUS and LIFE???

The Passover Meal (lamb, bitter herbs, etc) represented the suffering/death of the future Jewish Messiah. Jesus FULFILLED the Passover Meal by his suffering/death. The Communion Meal (bread/wine) represents the victory of the Jewish Messiah's suffering/death (Hebr 2:14, 1Peter 2:24). BOTH meals represented the Jewish Messiah. BOTH meals have to be physically eaten. NEITHER meal turns into Messiah's actual flesh/blood when eaten.
To say that Jesus was telling us to drink his actual blood, is to call Jesus a SINNER according to Jesus himself (Matthew 5:19-20)

Dr. Petrie is a genius. Incredible insight abd ability to explain the deep and extensive connections between the Old and Nee Testament.
We must hope and prat that our Protestant/Evangelical friends cultivate a desire for truth. If they do, then they will see how their interpretations don’t match history or the substance of the Old Testament (I’m not talking plucking out a verse and talking about it, which doesn’t accomplish much). Tying the scripures together, as Dr. Petrie does, is big time.

@David Ortiz, bless your heart but no, catholism is not any "fulfillment" of any "faith" whatsoever. Judaism is fulfilled via the 613 Laws that the Hebrew G-d gave to Moses and all who chose to accept & follow said tenets. Judaism is fulfilling on its own. It didn't & never needs any substitution claimed by someone who never followed the faith. But do have a blessed day.

Gypsy Robin I hope you watch the rest of the Dr Petri videos. They’re amazing and you would definitely see Jesus is the Jewish messiah. 613 laws not able to be kept. Temple is gone. Why? It was predicted. Now we are the temples of the living God. That’s another reason for the real presence of the Son of God in the Eucharist. I sincerely hope and pray you come to the fullness of faith. Which breaks the chains of the 613 laws, and gives you back exactly what you were meant to have, the Ten Commandments, which if we live in the love of God the Father almighty, we fulfill the laws. Not because we have to, because we are pleased to do so. We love the Father in Heaven so much. We love our Jewish brothers and sisters (most of us do anyway). He wants your branch to be grafted back in. May YHWH bless you and Holy Spirit fill you, and bring you back.

Funny thing. When I was in 1st Grade at parochial school, we kids had to go through the words of the Lord's Prayer and explain what each line meant. Under the line, "Give us this day our daily bread," I wrote something about Holy Communion, and it was the only answer marked wrong! For some reason, that memory has always remained with me. Understand, we were very well-catechized, and I'm sure that our teacher simply wanted us to understand the colloquial side of the vocabulary, so I can't fault her for docking me points on the quiz even though I WAS RIGHT!!! 😂
