- In this final installment of my spring 2024 series, I hike out of the canyon on a cloudy morning and formulate a plan on how to photograph one final subject. If you've enjoyed this series, please consider purchasing volume 5 of my "unpolished" eBook series that contains my complete journal entries from this trip, along with my thoughts on the images. Volume 5 is available now from my eBook store. www.benhorne.c...

Many of the voice over narratives on this trip were taken directly from my written journal. Following each video series, I scan the handwritten entries and create an eBook combining them with unedited looks at my film atop a light box. This "Unpolished" series of eBooks is available on my website. The volume for this trip will be released after the final video goes live, but past volumes from previous trips are currently available.

What a beautiful image to end this trip!! Love how the rock face in the background, frames the trees. The yellow flowers in the foreground, add a great pop of colour!!
Hey Ben, while watching each episode I couldn't help from chuckling to myself, that if you used the accent of the Count from Sesame Street every time that you counted the sheets of film you used and that you had left, it would be hilarious. "that's 4...4sheets of film and I have 4...4 sheets of film left...AH...AH...AH"
stellar imge to end Ben. but you know, it's the tiny splashes of bright yellow that somehow make it "different" for me anyway 🙂
are you planning another zine this year?
Great work as usual Ben. Whenever I want to watch your videos I have to make sure I am in a quiet and comfortable place to fully embrace your video. Thank you so much.
Also, I am curious if you had any front standard tilt when taking this beautiful photograph.
Curious to know how much your backpack weighs?
That looks such a wonderful location Ben.
On your way out that lonely tree was asking you to photograph it.😊
Great image
39000 steps 😳💪🏻
as always, epic video, fantastic images. Your videos are not only nice to watch. They give us a short break from our daily environment and gives us the feeling, we were part of this journey.
Thank you so much for sharing this video !!
That photograph is just amazing!!! Awesome colors!!!
Ben, in my humble opinion, this is one of the crown jewels in your voluminous portifolio! It is a simple composition with a natural glowing warm color. The thought process by which you, scout, select a subject, compose and determine the best light-condition before shooting is inspiring. This is a scene "weekend-worriers" would hurriedly pass by looking for a sensational shot of "big -foot". The elements in the fore-, mid- and back of this image has each a story to tell!
It looks lovely and the distance you have kept in between is something I very much liked. Thank you Ben!
As always, Ben, very inspirational. Thanks. KB
Another great few days watching you explore and use some film. Some good images before but this last one well worth the watch on it's own!
Yes! That one was grand on so many levels! A "Utah Canyon High" for sure!
What a great conclusion to the trip! I hope to hold that one in my own hands some day early in December...
That was worth the wait and the hike back in, exemplary!
Thank you very much Ben.
Lovely video as always, Ben! 😊
Possibly one of my favorite pics
