Nice! :) A thought for the lip balm, why not add a few drops of aroma oil with preferred fragrance? Like pepper mint, eucalyptus or something cooling. Just a thought! :)
I was thinking that some rosemary and orange essential oil would be nice!
Sounds good for lip balm!
Yet another great video. So enjoyable, so intuitive, so classy. Thanks very much. I'd like to see a longish video of overnight stay. Well done mate.
I am looking forward to that as well with her baker tent !
Stay tuned...cavas tent build vid up Sunday!
Thank you very much WildYam, great video!
You're welcome
How much 4 tea spoons in ounces? Anyone ?
Not sure if we’re talking volume or weight!
Hi Jen we like the fact that it's all made with natural ingredients. I love shea butter I use it everyday and coconut oil. Thanks for sharing.
You're welcome
Loved this!! Your always doing awesome things! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Petrena!
You said a few ounces of this but you didn’t say it was beeswax people won’t know
Is that how you keep your skin so pretty?
One of the ways
I have all ingrédients already except shea butter and beeswax, i will get those and definetly try this ! My hands are so dry this time of year. Thanks for sharing Jen i love the diversity of your videos.
Sounds great!
Looks great! And no poison in it. Thanks.
You're welcome
This is great! Can I ask where you bought the beeswax? Thanks Jen!
Health food store. But a local apiary may have some
Always try and buy local it helps us beekeepers our a lot the big companies like amazon are really killing our business
Your videos are always so informative & enjoyable - glad I stumbled upon your channel! 🙂
So glad you are enjoying my content.
Jenn, I made these and noticed the balm becomes grainy. Do you know why this happens?
Not sure why? If too thick, you can add less beeswax

Great video! Thank you
I could almost smell the goodness. Nice video. Thanks. 💖😺👍
You're welcome
I made your recipe today and it
Came out great! Thanks for the video!! And I know why its done on a dbl boiler! The flash point for bees wax is low! 😳 Thanks for your videos, they are wonderful and inspiring.❤️ Lisa in NJ
Awesome Recipe, Thanks Jen Smooth On Friend ! ATB T God Bless
You're welcome!
This was a great video, I learned a lot from this. Thank you!
I love your crafting and cooking videos!
Awesome! Stay tuned....canvas tent build is up Sunday!
Looks like great stuff CJ! 👍👍👍😃✌️
Thanks LB
The thumbnail made me think that pine and birch would be used.🤔
Not in this recipie. I did one on spruce hand salve a while ago.
Great video!! Was thinking about making this for Christmas for my guy friends/family. Would it be okay to put a preservative in this? If so, what do you recommend?
No preservative needed.
wow ... loved .
Great! Thanks so much.
I swear I can smell that beeswax from here! I've never made a salve...gonna try this! P.s. I search far and wide for unscented body care products, primarily for use during bear season.
There is a subtle scent to this formula but not perfume. I too dislike a lot of scented store bought products
Can you add a bit of essential oil to these?
Sure!
Great video! Love the knowledge
You're welcome!
Hi. Have you ever done a video about the Alvar environment. Would be very Interesting especially in the summer.
I'll go back there in the Summer for sure
I make the same salve. One thing I do is melt the beeswax first since it takes longer to melt then add the coconut oil and shea butter. Then you are not keeping those ingredients at the hot temps too long. Jen you made me nervous holding the cups while pouring. If any had spilled on your skin not good. Be safe.
Sounds great! Thanks Beverly
Gotta have that - even in Texas!
I bet, dry air dries the skin.
Great video 👍🏾
Thanks! :)
Awesome JR
Thanks Norm!
So neat! Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
Does this leave your skin greasy?
No it absorbs
@@TheWildYam Thank you. I'll try it tonight. 😀
Thanks for this video and the recipe. Perfect timing! Was wondering if you could please share the recipes for the cranberry drink and chutney that you had in your Christmas video. Looked great but I'm not on facebook or instagram to view them. Thanks again.
The cranberry drink is sort of like the wild soda video I did except that I used the yeast I mentioned in the video. For the chutney, I did this recipe :chestnutherbs.com/hibiscus-chutney-recipe/ but I used 1 lb of cranberries from the soda (to recycle them...LOL) instead of the hibiscus.
Thanks for the recipes!
Cool video Jen, I also make a spruce Salve 3 ingredients resin, bees wax, olive oil.
Nice
You are a natural born teacher!
Thanks for sharing this! Very helpful!
You're welcome
Thank you very much for this great idea doing the Salbe at home 🙏🌞
It is so nice on the skin!
I remember the spruce balm video. That one inspired me to create my own salve from gulf wax, vasoline, and mineral oil. I needed to cure my rough hands and nails because I constantly washing my hands. It turned out to be a quick cure far superior than off the self products.
Wonderful!
Another great ingredient to use is cocoa butter. Melts at body temp and absorbs into the skin quickly. Others to consider; cedar leaf oil, spruce or pine resin, tea tree oil
Cocoa butter and many essential oils are toxic to dogs so not appropriate for this recipie. That would be for human use only.
@@TheWildYam my understanding is that it is the Theobromine which is toxic. Cocoa butter contains almost none as it is removed with the cocoa solids. That however is something a dog owner would probably want to further research and decide upon before adding any to their salves.
@@smdavey99 I should clarify that if they get into enough of it (cocoa butter), can cause a bad GI upset.
Thanks for sharing!
You're welcome!
cool video Jen. where did you buy the bees wax. that great to have this time of the year
From the health food store. I have seen it at Bulk Barn too and of course a local bee keeper may have some.
First. :-) :-)
Awesome!
Great
