Yeah, the Suliban were quality as far as costuming goes. I'm still glad John Fleck got to play his last time as Silik out of makeup, though. Give the man's own face his due, so to speak, since acting through all that stuff piled on top of your mug is a skill that doesn't get enough credit, especially when you're turning in a performance good enough to get invited back again and again, like Fleck did.
"How do we know how many will board our ship?" "We have 30 ships all targeting our warp core: the more that they commit to boarding us, the less likely they will be to destroy our warp core."
This is what amazes me about space. There is no up or down in space. That is why it always seemed strange that Gene Rodenberry created the ships to appear as though there was an easily discernible top and bottom and that they have aerodynamic shapes to cut down on wind resistance. Although they try to justify this by showing voyager landing on a planet, it is not a reason to design a ship that would spend 99.9% of its tile in space. The one thing that we first need to invent is gravity plating that will allow us to actually travel In outer space.
Doesn't seem strange to me. Star Trek is rarely about "hard" science fiction. Fans argue about the technical aspects of warp factors and transporters, because the shows wisely subordinate the gizmos to the story. Visual communication with the audience is more important to Star Trek's goals as a TV show. So, the hero ship has its bridge on top and cruises around like a hybrid sea vessel/jet aircraft.
original star trek was based on nautical physics, maybe it was too much to expect twentieth century television producers to believe its viewers would comprehend a larger spectrum? yes maybe instead of leaning on identity politics, dimension would have been more fruitful. but that is show-business. we can make our own psy-fi, anyone got a new idea?
Personally, I enjoyed this Star Trek series as much as the original and most all of the writing and story line was excellent. Time Travel feature was utilized in multiple unique methods. Next was Deep Space Nine that got very detailed and convoluted at times with multiple story lines and War motives and betrayal undercover scenarios. Second Generations best contribution was the Borg and "Q" entities. The Covert Time Police feature was good and transcended multiple series except the Deep Space Nine series.
1. TOS 2. Voyager (Seven) 3. TNG 4. Picard 5. Enterprise 6. DS9 7. Maybe a new future ST series that is not woke / PC / gender neutral. 8. the other current series' (which I probably will never watch)
If you ask me 20 years ago if i like Silik, I'll be??🤔????? But today I can say in 2024 i really like that character one of the best in Enterprise. One one of my favorite actors in Enterprise. Enterprise retroactively is the best star trek ever. Back in the early 2000th i didn't like the song and detest some of the outro, today i did learn to appreciate and like them. The creators and all the staff were genius. These episodes were expensive at the time when a lot of people were not having bread in North America. But this is certainly true today also.
@@tristanwhite3472 yes. The story goes if they go to another season the Sulibans and Andorians will have more presence. Especially Shran. But now it's over. But everything must past, save the Word of God.
The makeup artists did a great job with the alien faces
I had a ceiling like that.
@@thedavecorp LOL! Actually it does look a lot like a Stucko texture roller 😀

This is so good! Makes me want to watch Enterprise!

They have to do that to help with willful suspension of disbelief.
Well a fan explanation is it because of warp dynamics.
Flying bricks makes it slower in warp because it can't sail as fast.
So you're a Borg fan of their efficiently designed cube spaceships?
Even this is better than current Star Trek series.
This was good.
