Any thoughts on those $300 displays on AE? For example, the "TFT Full Color Screen 600X600 DPI PC USB F16MFD Cockpit Flight Simulator"? I'd like to make a (Dear imuGui) game that simulates a helicopter cockpit (like the one from DCS AH-64D) that runs inside one of these displays, but also actuates some relays connected via usb whenever a button is pressed!
Hi, the reason I did this project is because I personally think that paying $300 for a display is a bit of a waste of money. If I was going to buy a professional display, I'd go with the Winwing MFD's, however I don't think you'd be able to modify them easily for what you want to do.
I wonder if this works in VR, I’m playing around with the pass thru settings and it would awesome if this works. It doesn’t work using the iPad as mfd when in vr
It should be ok. The inner window area of the MFD is 4.2 x 4.2 inches. A 7 inch diagonal converts to a 5.6 x 4.2 inch area for an 800x600 ratio. You'll probably need to invent your own mounting arrangement.

I don’t have VR yet, but apparently DCS BIOS has issues with VR.
is the screen connected to your computer directly or to an arduino?
The driver board connects to the computer via USB.

I want to ask how you power it? Standart from a PC from a usb port or via some kind of charger?
I just use a USB charger to save using a port on my PC.

Yes, just plug an hdmi cable (and usb power cable) into the driver board and it will appear as a second monitor.
will this work if i already have 3 monitors setup ?
It's connected by USB, so it should be OK, but I haven't tested it.

Can I ask how you reduced the MFD scale to fit within the Thrustmaster cougar? I have mounted my screens but the MFD is outside the Cougar MFD
