cool man, you might need a little more pressure on the fork, just my opinion. I'll recommend the Maxxis tires I have on my Axum, Dissector on the rear, DHF at the front, the tread is incredible for those trails. I think you saw my video on that install

If you don't mind...I have my own little review of this fork. I got it about 7 months ago on E-Bay for $269. Is it worth $269, yes. Is it worth the MSRP of $649, hell no. It felt pretty good for the first 50 miles, but I'm about 85 miles into riding it now and it's already bucking on the steeper stuff. It really reminds me of a 32 XC fork: it's high-strung, it has real lockout, but the compression dial is flimsy and part of it doesn't work now; the lockout shifted over counterclockwise so I have to turn it a whole 1/3 of the former range to even get any travel. Which means I have about 120 degrees of dial left...not very much. Most decent forks have 360 degrees of dial or more, this has just a slice of that. Compression is really important to me so that's a minus on this fork. Also the thru-axle is flimsy and I had to replace it with an aftermarket axle on Amazon. The QR lever fell off after 2-3 rides lol. Like I said, it's very similar to a 32 fork, as in you take it on a bunch of blue trails and it starts falling apart. This also happened with a Manitou Machete; it's so beat up now that I would feel guilty selling it used. I would say the XFusion Trace may be the best of the lower-end forks, but I've been doing a head to head comparison with this fork on my all-mountain hardtail vs. a $500 Suntour Auron 34 on an XC carbon hardtail. If all else were equal, the AM bike should make it down the hill faster. But the XC bike is now faster downhill with the Auron fork. So it's the fork, not the bike. I got a really good deal on an Ohlins XFR 34 for $600 again on E-Bay, and I will replace this fork with the Ohlins and see how much better that is. I've really damped the rebound on this Trace and took the air pressure from 80 to 70 psi; maybe that will do the trick a little bit. Have about a month to finish up testing this fork before the Ohlins. If it changes significantly I'll update. For now I'm saying it's a budget fork and if you value segment times, it's basically a backup fork or e-bike fork.
To be fair, those are XC tires, not really meant for that trail. I started using Continental RaceKings this year, great for that type of riding. Haven't had much of a choice in tire department, due to lack of just about everything bike related this season, but still. worked for me. Most important thing is you haven't crashed. Hike-a-bike ain't worst thing in the world. If you hate to bring backpack, have you tried to strap stuff you need on the frame? Like DH riders do. At least you have tons of spare tires :) stay safe boys
Will do Mario and I gotta not be so dumb and just pack a backpack!! Ha ha and figured I would ride the hell out of those tires since they came with the wheelset, but works out now we can do some 29er tire reviews. Later man See you sunday for the 5000 SUBSCRIBER BIKE!!
Hey thanks man. Yeah we wanted to do a review on the D5 and then the bike shortage happened and they raised the price to high. We might try next summer so keep an eye out. Challenging is not the word I'd use to describe it! 😂😂 Great video guys, love the real time reviews, you get a real sense of what this equipments like out of the box Take care 🍻
Dan thank you so much for keeping up with our schedule man, really nice. That trail is damn INSANE!! LOL And those xc tires suck! Ha ha gonna try some specialized next!! Thanks Dan very much
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS I've got specialized tyres on my bike, they seem pretty good to be honest. Not a single puncture yet (I've done it now... 😂), although most of the trails I ride are muddy tracks and don't have anywhere near the rocks you've got over there

Later man See you sunday for the 5000 SUBSCRIBER BIKE!!
does a 27.5 x 3 fit?
No brother, I would go with a 2.4 at the biggest...maybe a 2.5
Nice videos .. hey wolftick maybe u can try budget ful sus in your next review .. try polygon siskiu d5 .. maybe below $1K there .cheers
Hey thanks man. Yeah we wanted to do a review on the D5 and then the bike shortage happened and they raised the price to high. We might try next summer so keep an eye out. We have two budget full suspension bikes that we still need to get to, the Temissor and the Sandstorm. Thanks for the suggestion and who knows that might happen😀🙏
Looks like a decent fork!
Timbo!! My man👍 black diamond here we come lol
You probably need to run tubeless trail/enduro tires in those rocks to keep from flatting
What would you recommend for a lower price? Thanks
Hey guys! I just ordered my first merch 😁
Thank you🥰👍
Nice video my friend and awesome upgrade 💪, hey what happened to the 20" wheel mtb any upgrades on that 😅, take care brother and stay safe 🙏
Hey Homie!! Man we got to do a realtime review and find a kid first:) But the day will come ha ha, hope all is well man and stay safe as well:) Hope you have a great christmas and maybe some parts for those BIKES!!!!
awesome review.
Thanks James! We plan on getting it down Hayes Creek Run on the second part of this review. That should be a blast🚵👍
Hey man when are we going to get to see you and your dad outside building a jump of some sort
Hmmm??? Oneday!! Its gonna happen.
The fork that could end world hunger 😂😂😂 looks to perform really well, but I think your tyres are garbage 😂
Your footage of that trail scares me to death, looks to be full of hard, pointy rocks. Challenging is not the word I'd use to describe it! 😂😂
Great video guys, love the real time reviews, you get a real sense of what this equipments like out of the box
Take care 🍻
Dan thank you so much for keeping up with our schedule man, really nice. That trail is damn INSANE!! LOL And those xc tires suck! Ha ha gonna try some specialized next!! Thanks Dan very much
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS I've got specialized tyres on my bike, they seem pretty good to be honest. Not a single puncture yet (I've done it now... 😂), although most of the trails I ride are muddy tracks and don't have anywhere near the rocks you've got over there
Well we will see you little jinxer!!!!😂😂THANKS!
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS 😂😂😂
Blow out once, shame on you
Blow out twice, shame on me
Blow out three times...
Wolfman’s going to glue a backpack on the Tick for the next review haha
Holy SH*T!! THAYS GREAT STUFF HA HA. tou ate right man!! CompleteShame on me!!!!!
Good forks 😛
Dude they are sweet man, cant wait to get some more time with them!! Thank you Andy and have a merry christmas!!
Should tried the maxis minion dhr2 front and back
Man if I had a 29er set we would have:)
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS one step at a time 😉. I really like how you go about testing all these parts. If you keep it up soon companies may just give you there parts to test. I just started building my son's bike (26er) found a cheap pair of new maxis rekons 2.4 inch on ebay. Those would do well on the trails I've seen you ride. Have fun out there and keep talking 👍
@@markcrazy9999 Yeah man we get alot of companies trying to send us stuff now. We don't accept anything that has strings attached, or that we don't want to use ourselves. We always disclose anything that was sent to us or that we got a significant discount on. So far we have only accepted a handful of items, but I know it's only a matter of time before someone offers to pay us to use and review their stuff. We will cross that bridge when we get there. Thanks man👍
Continental Xking 2.2 is actually not that bad for intermediate. Had mine for 2 years on 2 bikes from my bike shop guy. No issues and i crash and run over everything. (Not sponsored byvthe way lol)
Ha ha ha funny man, neither am I from x fusion!! Those tires are wore man, after about three hard rides they are done!
Should’ve gone with the Maxxis tires
Ha ha I need to lol! Got specialized coming and some duros🤘
also are we going to talk about that new helmet lol also you need to start running tubeless lol it will save you money in the long run
YOU DIG????!!!! Tubeless will come im sure but man is it an expensive thought lol, I know theres a budget way but really want to be %100
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS use some gorilla tape and a decent sealent and ul be good to go and yeah i like that helmet
Now you got the old man haha. Well Steve we can't do tubeless on the Taff or the GT because we got to do tire reviews. However if we can get to our 5K subscriber bike, that might be the perfect project for it. Thanks bud👍
Great vid the fork did great
Rip tires tho
Yeah guys, a little salty about the tires!!:)
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS yeah
Wolftick videos there is a small request from the wolftick nation, please upgrade a 26 inch bike
You got to tell the Tick. We have a 26" bike that would be fun to upgrade but he keeps putting it off. We will be voting again in a couple of weeks and I will try to put it on there to vote on. Thanks man
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS a budget dirt jumper build would be awesome
Thanks wolfman I will be waiting for the voting
@Berserker Nick-I think so too, would love a single speed light a** dirt jumper. The 26" we got is not built for that but maybe??
@@BerserkerNick great idea dude I really love durt jumper, I resently bought a gt la Bomba
Are you tubeless or not? Haven't seen the video if you did go tubless.
Naww man no tubeless here. We should be making one of the projects tubeless soon though. Maybe next month. Thanks man
Dont blame the tires they're Cross country and paved road tires not really meant for rock gardens lol
🤘🤘🤘🤘
That was a really narly trail
Yes it is a nasty beast of a trail for sure. Every time Jeremiah rides that trail it turns into a 💩 show.
So Close to 5k
🔥🔥🔥🔥
You need about 10 more lbs of air in that spoon brother
😉👍👍
Man! You've got me wanting to sell my Rockshox Recon and get this X-Fusion! But my dad won't go on a drunken Ebay escapade. 😒😅
But those tires: i have those tires in the Trail King version and they suit me fine. But my trails aren't rocky like that one. I can see where you'd need a tougher tire.
Btw, another great video!
Caleb you crack me up man!! Too bad your dad is not mine!!!😂😂😂His sloppy Ebayness is awesome LOL, those tires are great in soft dirt but man do they suck in the rocks!! HA HA that trail is nasty man but anyways appreciate the comment man and the LAUGHS!! Me and Dad were cracking up!!!
If you got to spend that much money on the generic fork you should buy the fox there’s nothing better second is rock shock 🦊
Fox 34 is at least double the cost of this one.
Well we got them for a very good price, would never paid for them in full. But if we ever can get a deal like that again we may just try some fox👍 thanks man.
Rhythm
🤘🤘🤘🤘😜
you need to go tubeless Less flat tires
Dude!! Its in the making I you ha ha oneday Sam!!
Shoud superglue som bike tools to his back and a bike pump valve to his fart compressor 🤪and run a cushcore on the back weel if he is geting a lot of flats. I'm 90 kg 1.85 taal and run the race king on the rear and never had a flat. U can not blame the rubber this time or lack of it 😉cushcore and lower tp on rocky shit
Yeah Yeah we are looking into some cushcore type stuff!! LOL You sound very funny looking!!😂😂😂😂 You fit right in with #WOLFTICKNATION-gotta get used to riding with a bag all the time!!!PEACE!
Go
🔥🔥🔥
Al
👍👍👍
Screw continental. Id go with WTB over that overated flatter.
We haven't had much luck with Continental that's for sure. Were not huge fans of WTB either though, but that's due to customer service. Thanks man
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS damn customer service. A company goes bad because of crappy customer service. But if u ever get a hold of wtb tires, youd love em.
Man we wouldent ind trying them, got some bad customer service from WTB a while back and try and not buy from them.....But we will give it some time and wait it out i guess
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS if their customer service is gonna be like that, some people in that place is gonna get fired for sure.
Yeah man it was kind of like talking to a wall, they realy did not hear em out, they were more caught up on trying to prove me wrong with a seat a subscriber bought for me. The seat broke/bent and he told me there was no way they would warranty it, so I said well what about a percentage off of a new one if I choose to buy it again....He says yes then the percentage he marked off as tallied right back on to the new purchase price for SHIPPING!! I felt a little cheated and felt like not doing business with them again.
