Why not? Designing a CPU is many times more complex. 500 toy-grade drones coordinated by a single computer is far from complex, it's just expensive. It's as complex as a single drone following instructions, just scaled up. You could do it entirely with parts from eBay. Would probably cost around $50k shipped in materials/electronics.
It's way more complex than a single drone. They are doing very precise navigation which can not be done with gps. Either they set up an antenna array or they are using inertial meassurements which is way harder especially in such small and lightweight drones.
@@guillermopresa3775 Actually it's not complicated at all. (Easy as 1, 2 3 ... tongue in cheek) 1. Modify animation software to include the z axis for three dimensional movement. 2. Animate 500 dots in whatever way you want to move your drone cloud and produce a flight path for each zone and load said paths into the drones. 3. Use a GPS base as a reference for all drones to get the accuracy (this is the part you were concerned about. All drones position themselves relative to the base eliminating the deliberately built in error in the worlds GPS system. So you end up with 500 single drones doing their thing independently! Just FYI, I thought it would be complicated, too...so I googled it and came up with this. Not my original idea...can't remember where I got it , though. And, yes, its a little more difficult than I make it sound. But there's nothing new here. Just existing stuff in a new device. That's why drone technology as moved so far so fast.
So . . . instead of a show I saw an advertisement. Cute, having no competition Intel releases tepid increments in their processor lines and has time to play with little drones. YO INTEL ! you want BUZZ? About a 12core under $500?
einfach unbeschreiblich, wie schön der Fortschritt der Menschen und dieser Technologien unser Leben jeden Tag verändern und verbessern können. Gänsehaut . . .
Wooow! This is awesome! I wonder about the logistics involved - i.e. the software. They must've come up with something high-level that simplifies this tremendously. Have some low-level routines constantly and automatically keeping watch on the individual drones status, actual flying controls, collision prevention, etc., - with the high-level stuff basically being "draw this 3-D shape with your fingers on the screen, then draw another one, and all the drones transition from one shape to another". Or not :) In any case, this is seriously awesome stuff.
Look at the very bottom of the screen at exactly 02:00. During the landing, it looks like 1 of the drones malf'd and flew off into the trees. It moves from the center to the left on a line parallel to the ground, and then disappears into some trees. Still, even with 499 drones, this is damned impressive.
They already have them...FLEETS of them...Capable of uniformly working together to attack several or a unitary target...Armor piercing...And they have them almost nano sized...Speaking of NANO, you should see what they can do with nano-particulates...DARPA /// RAYTHEON are 50 years ahead of anything 99% of the populous can even fathom...And this is not even discussing thing like HF HEATERS...What is an HF HEATER....? IONOSPHERIC HEATERS, think Earthquakes, Volcanic Eruptions, Steering the Jet Stream and controlling the weather...I could go on and on, but most people do not have the time to understand the validity of attack humanity and the world at large is already under...Too busy playing pretend farm on facebook on their phones...
its so incredibly magical and looks like the units from the game Auralux or the small "flies" that the mothership in StarCraft is spreading, so nice .....
Now its a question of making the drones smaller, brighter, and further responsive. Future challenge - Make a swarm of brighter 10000 LED drones with a size no more than 10 centimetres each, encased in a spherical Buckminsterfullerene like structure for protection. Then make them fly amongst the crowd.
Call me when you can screen a full movie while drones are flying in the air. It shouldn't be so hard... I imagine you keep them flying with different LED colors adjusted for the movie, which change as required by it. It would make it really nice if they can be on a 3D array. That would be a step up for entertainment.
Me and everyone else in my family thought the stars and flag was all CGI, but then at the end of the halftime show they had a little picture on the screen and they said "Drones sponsored by Intel". I was like, "THOSE ARE DRONES? OMG!"
0:40 The difference between 100 and 500 is actually 400...
Her logic, 400 = Mind Blowing..!
Joshi Yash 10 Billion drones would be mind blowing!
China did 1000 already
-400
Arthur you stole my thunder.
I saw this on the Superbowl and thought it was CGI but when I found out it was real... I still can't believe it.

GAGA AT THE SUPER BOWL!!!
EXACTLY MY THOUGHTS!
Luan Wayne you were right!
You called it!
He knew something
You must be from the future....
So... in an unrelated note, what's the most recent lottery numbers?
Awesome! We filmed it! Here is the Light Show video!
I just want to know how they charge them.
use one time :D
haha, good one.
AAs
Pro taking the batteries out since they want it to be light weight you don't want to have a charge circuit inside
sunnyspeed studio I would think wireless charging on 1 large pad
That super bowl drone setup was SO COOL guys... damn.
HOW DID I ONLY FIND OUT ABOUT THIS NOW??? 2 Years Later???????
This is absolutely AWESOME!
I found out now in 2021 April
The future of fireworks
los chinos lo hacen con pólvora xD no es el futuro, es la competencia y todavía es mucho mas costosa jajaja
Never
I thought the same! But very expressive, but reduces pollution
The future of fireworks (with ads)
and advertising in the sky at night 😁
big thanks to intel from all the tech freaks all around
we all just love it when technology becomes alive and expresses it's beauty
yeah but this aint that
@@johnnycats5157 what?
Bet those Dubai folks will implement this kind of show soon, especially for their annual new year light show.
So . . . instead of a show I saw an advertisement.
Cute, having no competition Intel releases tepid increments in their processor lines and has time to play with little drones.
YO INTEL ! you want BUZZ? About a 12core under $500?
0:10 Nvidia?
Nik military drones
No its not. Look up NVIDIA Logo.
The drones and the programming for the remote control for the swarm is out of this world. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
Gaga at the Super Bowl 😍
einfach unbeschreiblich, wie schön der Fortschritt der Menschen und dieser Technologien unser Leben jeden Tag verändern und verbessern können. Gänsehaut . . .
So i heard this wiill be used on the SuperBowl Halftime show with Gaga? I'm not surprised since Gaga and Intel have partnered a couple of times now
DaleyDale She is their greatest creation.
it turned out spectacularly
Nice. Make a million of those drones and have a km long screen. The future is here

Best ufo sighting so far!
You know something's off when a huge corporate logo is the highlight of the show.
Man-0-Man, THAT is some AWESOME stuff right there!
great!
I just love the hardwork what they do and the outro sound of intel....I just loved it❤️❤️

gregc2222 lmao
That's not a drone. Looks like a plane. The colour is different
Runaway!!!
I would love to see this at a theme park like before or after a firework show.
Modern firework...
Literally amazing!!!
Yep they are doing the Super Bowl can't wait
Very beautiful. One of the best scene w/o CGI.
I can already imagine the military applications of these things... Scary!

AMAZING...Can't wait to see what you come up with next....
Now for new year instead of loud explosion all we hear are the whirring and humming of the drones.
amazing Intel....مدهشةانتي يا شركة أنتل
Fantastic, great work Intel.
This would be so much better than fireworks for 4th of July!
wooww, now this video will going to break records. Awesome
imagine a floating screen in the sky? Like show video threw the drones? There is a ton of potential with this
MindBlowing !
Mysterio needs your location 🤣🤣🤣
Blow my mind some more. 👽
STAR VOYAGER ho
Now imagine producing millions of these drones and filling up the night sky over an entire city.
Just ... WOW!!!
I really want to experience this somewhere in the world.
By the way, this video was fantastic and incredible to watch ;-)
Next time, use 4k.
8k is the way to go

+Ladislav Vysmek & +QbsidianH20 - no 64k is the way to go, it is Intel after all
*Intel inside*
Amazing & Wonderful
This would make for an excellent opening ceremony for any rich Olympic city
This has me feeling old, I've arrived in the future somehow.
Crazy, hopefully one day we can get drones/ lasers/ fireworks and holograms together in one big PSYCHOACTIVE REALITY
its so incredibly magical and looks like the units from the game Auralux or the small "flies" that the mothership in StarCraft is spreading, so nice .....
OMG !!! . AWESOME !!! . I Love iT !!!
I had tears in my eyes while watching this. Its truly amazing.
all that talking, and less than ten seconds of flight. Kind of a wasted opportunity.
and it's pretty much just their dumbass logo. yay.
Johnny Cats well they made the drones so if you don’t want to see the logo you make you’re own project
TheBeteljuice you make you’re own project then if not you can’t criticize anyone
magnifique coordination pour un très beau spectacle et un étonnant atterrissage à 500 unités lumière, très bon contrôle numérique, chapeau.
Ok, I want to buy 2000 of these. Beats the crap outta catching fireflies. Seriously cool. Almost sci-fi looking.
Wow, what a creative idea.
Intel: The Future Begins Here
In the ARM licence ?
Sapher hmmm, i will let you answer it. Cheers.
The great thing (or not) is there is one TD thus we'll be holding our breath waiting for Troll's Video to go up with 501 Drones.
That was EPIC!
I seriously hope one of Intel's engineers uses this to propose.
These shows should come to Oklahoma. Or Texas. I'd pay to watch. Live music too. And wine.
while I'm sure there was a bit of CGI, wow. Just awesome. Now do 1000
I was thinking of that too
If you're talking the transition from 500 to intel, surprisingly not! It is sped up a bit though
Absolutely amazing
Just what we've always wanted, ads in the sky in-between 'fireworks'.
please stop
lol, sorry its only just begining.
Not just between fireworks! All the time, anywhere, any time.
SunnyZ .
You must be fun at parties.
Get out of the way grandpa
Amazing! We'd like to do this in the DMV area. Let's chat!

gjvideo ok whats ur number
Awesome! I have a lot of doubts about it. I want to do the same show, but it for the anniversary foundation school when I study.
Wow! Next Vegas!
What software do they use to control the drones?
Wow... It's marvelous...!
this is super awesome! amazing
mind blowing it is! 👍
*Goodjob Intel
Great job on Tokyo 2020
They should show this on next Olympic opening ceremony. Digital Fireworks.
Wow they are amazing light from drones.
Awesome!
Who knows what the background music is?
Drones taking over your job fireworks.
Daniel V nah. I want fireworks fired in patterns behind the light show
One of the most beautiful things I've ever seen
Woooow!!!!!!!
INTEL IS LIFE AND FUTURE !!
The future of fireworks shows,
how awesome that would be right?
Does anyone know what piece of music is playing until 0:22?
Wow !! I have had dreams about this when I was a kid the intel ad in the sky.A true dream come true im

mindblowing!!
awsome , good job intel guys
대단하군요...
미래가 보입니다.
So great!!
We can see our futures.
We will fly soon.. no more ground cars
I'd really like to learn what program their using to command & configure all those drones =)
they should have put these in the shape of an Illuminati symbol that would have freaked someone out.
2019: *let's do 1000*
A great Guinness World Record for Intel
Music Festivals... EDC, Coachella, Tomorrowland, Bonnarroo... Twinkle Twinkle..
THAT'S AMAZING
Next time. Lets watch a cinema in the sky. Making 10,000-20,000 drones flyes on the sky and make it like pixels
I am amazed, I love lights!
Me and everyone else in my family thought the stars and flag was all CGI, but then at the end of the halftime show they had a little picture on the screen and they said "Drones sponsored by Intel". I was like, "THOSE ARE DRONES? OMG!"
best processing stuff man!!!!!
do you have a full light show video
