Maybe the area where he got frozen melted through time in lissandras lore everytime and iceborn was born shes killing the iceborns inorder to keep the ice strong enough to hold the watchers from escaping

from what i could gather, yordles can temporarily hyperevolve during high stress. which is probably why their culture advanced way faster than the humans. heim is always stressed, hence, had involvuntarily hyperevolved brain. veig is also always stressed, hence hyperevolved to a dark creature, losing most if his yordle form. same can be said to the other yordle champs in lol, except maybe teemo or poppy.
