- What a way to start the day! We're playing against Korean Human player Sok! We've cast him many times on the channel, and thankfully for me, he's playing as Random today, and will not get his main race. Still a big challenge though!

Honestly cant blame Grubby not liking on Undead much. Its DK + Lich almost every single game. If i was playing Warcraft 3 i would never play UD because i cant be arsed to use nothing but dk + lich
am I the only one who always sees in "Scroll of Town Portal" (can be seen at 32:05) a burning - or surrounded by flames - ship (upside view, as if the scroll itself was the sails)? Always thought it's kinda allegoric, like "hey, my ship is burning, I better return home".

Grubby, what do you think the balance would endup like if the game AI implemented on creeps where also implemented on player controlled troops?
I mean, wherever you fight a camp with poison, the creep will hit all your troops at least once into they're all poisoned; and yet, Wind Raiders do not apply this mechanism.
Maybe it could be such as when you target-attack ground, the AI takes control of the WR and tries to apply poison on everyone; and if you actually wanna focus soneone (by target-attacking a unit) the AI do not take control.
Could also work with Nerubian Towers aswell.
That kind of "AI" behavior might actually be very bad compared to the "dumb" version. For one, if there are too many units, does the AI try to spread as much as possible or focus on a few units? If for instance the nerubian hits all units evenly, it might be a far worse outcome than hitting one unit and damaging it enough for a coil or nova kill. Right now the human players could outmicro the AI behavior in game precisely because you can exploit the AI's behavior. It isn't immediately clear that spreading fire is superior as a default behavior in player vs player encounters even for those units you mentioned.
@@zxbc1 indeed but I also wrote that if you select a target instead of ground attacking, then the AI does not take over :)
That's an idea if ground targeted that it could do it. Could be better than what it is now but that could make people learning the game more lazy to learn since aí does some work.
Reality doing max damage is not ideal vs killing units. A 1hp enemy does same damage as full ho and doesn't give exp, a dead one doesn't do any of the above. Grubby talks about how focus killing units is important

Do units not give XP when they get killed by buildings?
They do not give XP. Towers, AP, NE building melee attacks, and orc spikes all deny exp if they last hit.

They used to but was patched out a long time ago. Like 20 years ago when people used towers to creep iirc.
@@diningwithBrianN It wasn't exactly patched out. It's a Reign of Chaos mechanic. It still works in Reign of Chaos games. There's a reason that Reign of Chaos was still played by an active community after Frozen Throne launched in 2003, and that's because it was a completely different game. Although, Reforged kind of removed the ability to play Reign of Chaos games online if you don't want to play on Champions, afaik.

WarCraft III for sure if no hit point conversions were done -- Tier 1 units had 10s of hit points in WarCraft II and hundreds of hit points in WarCraft III.
It's not so much that the South Korean system ADDED one year. You should think of it as you are on your first year of life. You currently LIVING your first year, rather than you have already LIVED 1 year. Which is how most other places do it. The system actually makes a lot more sense when you think about it that way!
