Funny watching Grubby play UD, he does so much unconventional UD moves like sell shop lol. He does have an interesting ud playstyle w/ them which is interesting.
I think acolytes, like Arthas, are undead in spirit: they walk such a dark path and dabble in such dark arts that they become effectively indistinguishable from creatures of darkness. A similar question would be why is pit lord undead, and I think the answer is that the tag undead that warcraft uses signifies a general affinity to the dark, rather then actual "deadness"
I think realistically its a gameplay mechanic as having undead hero's/units that are unaffected by blight regen and healing from coil would be a pretty oppressive nerf imo. From what Iremember DK's or at least those tied to the Lich King are specifically made undead as are crypt lords/fiends in general they were given the gift of undeath in exchange for servitude.
Well in the Re-Reforged campaign, actually you cannot Death Coil to heal/Holy Light to damage acolytes and necromancers, since technically they are actually living dudes :P
Its hilarious to me the way wc3 players and sc2 players approach conversation. Most sc2 players mute ppl who talk to them and wc3 players embrace and banter
Love it, super scrappy games! Feels like some sorta 4gate onebase-allin stuff from starcraft 2 and super easy to interpret compared to some other builds. It seemed like every corpse was spawning something! I'll have to remember as much of this buildorder as I can (Grave/Crypt/Altar/Zigg/Shop is what I have written down for fiends; edit: then unsummon stuff and double crypt) and give it a go!
Man, that talk about RTS history sent me back to playing Warcraft II on my grandmother's PS1. Warcraft 1 is hard to measure, since it isn't a consistent experience. The AI's APM is directly tied to the CPU clockrate, so even with perfect emulation of contemporary hardware, it played differently on a 386 or a 486 processor.
For the chatter with Twilight hard issues: Expo both left and right, send your heroes down to defend humans. Malf treants, then tranquility every wave. Starfall the tricky ones, don't use searing arrow if you will go out of mana. Your core team is archers, dryads, bears, and talons. The only time you should stop production is if you get supply blocked, don't worry about upkeep. The air waves later on will catch you way off guard without talons and archers to counter, while they can still be useful unlike hippos for the other waves. If you're willing to micro them and experiment, mercs and land mines are really nice, but I'm the absolute worst micro player around so I made some easier strats on that front. Timeline-wise, the human base should last ~15 minutes, orcs ~20, and your last base should take the final 10 minutes.
Dune 2: the building of a dynasty was so much fun. If you play it today though it’s a pain in the butt without mods because you can only control one unit at a time.
I recently downloaded and played through all of Warcraft 1 actually. It does not hold up well. The controls are a constant fight. You need to set the gamespeed down a notch to give yourself time to muster troops with the 4 unit selection limit. Meanwhile the enemy responds with no limit meaning you can easily get swarmed. The enemy AI also has a habit of beign triggered to swarm your base after a failed attack (or even scouting) meaning you can't venture out of your base until you have overwhelming force as even a single scout running into the enemy guarding forces will often trigger a wholesale bum-rush of the entire enemy garrison completely overwhelming you. Also catapults... catapults firing from the fog of war to wipe out 2 or 3 spell casters in a single impact. Lastly there is often not enough gold on the map to pay for recouping a failed attack so i found i needed to savescum a LOT.
OMG Grubby please play Warcraft 1 Orc Campaign! I know it's ultra dated and clunky. But it's so foundational to the entire genre and holds such nostalgia in my heart. It'd be so fun to watch a pro crush it
Dune 2 also came to consoles. I played it on Sega Genesis and there was another RTS game on the Genesis before that which was kind of cool, Herzog Zwei, in that you had a kind of player unit that could both control other units and also fight itself and fly around.
Hey Grubby!! I would love to see you play more ffa and the game of thrones custom map. I really want to see you play the game of thrones custom map because I think it’s a super cool custom map but I’m not good enough at the game to do very well.
11:23 So your theory brings us to logical conclusion that Holy Light is actually the same wavelength as the Sun itself. So all other living creatures actually emitting the Sun particles and are subjects to one day end up collapsing into themselves. Except for Night Elves. Brings us back to the statement that Night Elves OP.
I guess he will not see this but anyway, i would like see him try my special ud- human build lol.. CL+fiend tower rush. Directly lv 1 tower rush the hu
I was massing one unit owning pros all day back when i played haha. They had a similar opinion. Noob! leave game... I rocked an 80+% win rate then dota came out and i quit
Grubby: this is not going to work.
Narrator: it worked.

It’s like devil worshipers and paranormal activity, just like aliens, that demon occupied their software

I don't know about arthas, but the nerubian are actually undead, as in, they died and were resurrected. There are actual living nerubian, as well.
Well in the Re-Reforged campaign, actually you cannot Death Coil to heal/Holy Light to damage acolytes and necromancers, since technically they are actually living dudes :P
@@vladislavkaras491i mean that would be same for necromancers? They are just old dudes that practice necromancy for the cult of the damned

Nerubian assassin 😂
Who
Who is this Grubby impostor who left a chicken alive at 6:30?
The beginning looked like the beginning of a classic drama movie...i loved it. XD

The ancient evil survives! ❄️
I remember the good, old times and countless hours in Dune 2 as a kid,but the one unit control was a pain.
And now all we have are the movies
That ring of protection +5 in the beginning. Its like they knew you needed a w
Thank you for the strat! :-) I played it some other way.

You played him like he was an npc xD trully good example of skill in w3
11:45 Can confirm
Talking about old RTS and not mentioning Red Alert 2 and Generals Zero Hour is wild. this 2 along with Warcraft really were best of those times
Man, that talk about RTS history sent me back to playing Warcraft II on my grandmother's PS1.

Well, that was interesting games!
Thanks for the video, Grubby!

Crypt fiends are probably the best Tier 1 unit
"Are you that Grubby?"
Grubby: No
Melon: No engles
Manuelf: No
Habby: Yes
This build is so Command & Conquer:
- Sell structures
- Spam medium tanks
Was really curious what the Human plan to stop the Fiendspam was
I was mildly surprised at his choice
Did you play some memorable games with Slovaks or Czechs?
Didn't even know Warcraft 1 existed
Wait till you find out about Warcraft 2. And it's expansion😂
22:47 YAY! BACKPACK FOR THE WIN!! 🎉
BTW, "yeshkin kot" is kinda Russian "holy moly" or "great Scott" 😂
Thank you for the daily uploads I watch you every night when going to sleep my girl just puts on your vids when it’s sleep time. Thanks grubby
That last guy kept losing his Troll High Priest and kept rehiring lol, they should increase their fee for such a dangerous job.
Dune 2: the building of a dynasty was so much fun. If you play it today though it’s a pain in the butt without mods because you can only control one unit at a time.
Tx for playing undead :´)
I want to see necro wagon dropped in the back of the enemy base with zeppelins vs human, orc or undead. I would really love to see you play this idea
There is so many times where I think grubby's hero is trapped or gonna die where mine would have but somehow never does
How messed up would making Acolytes be not undead, balance-wise?
very!

Besides the orc campaign is basically the Canon narrative all the better for the Grubs

w8 , cryptlord now summons 2 bugs with one cast or am I not seeing correctly? I'm old
It's been spawning 2 for awhile now. I haven't played in like 5+ years and it spawned 2 back then.

Serious question: are they any new-new player in this game?
"Yoshkin kot" means "Cat of yoshka" which is like a... cute swearing.
Nerubian assasin sounds like optimus prime
Actually a fun strat
What s the counter of mass fiends when playing as humans ?
defend footies (if not a ghoul transition) into knights
Footmen are probably enough based on armor and damage types
Thanks for noob tip
As a cute little noob I must abuse this stupid strat 😂
Grubby please do more stuff with Harstem!
did you forgot about the brazilian duck? PaTo?
The sleeper awakes
You know the rapper drake ? 😮

What does he mean by "duck"?
"Ente" is the german word for "duck" thats why he keeps calling him duck
Ente means duck in German.
