Dude in fk2 has really sorted setup and knows how to drive. On paper he should have no chance even in drags... props to him.
He lets it ride the limiter in the early gears like youre supposed to in a high hp fwd car. Good for him
Do you think the front Diff in the newer FK is more accustomed to High power FWD setup?
The fk8 likely had wider tyres and slightly more weight on the nose helping get off the line, plus the eg has track tyres which in cold conditions won't help it either. The extra power is wasted on the eg as as they're unable to get it down.

@@hello7533 because it bogs down and falls out of boost if you shift too soon. You are better off riding the limiter a bit in a turbo fwd honda.

That Luke dude killed them all of the line every single time! Driving skills making up for the 50hp less, street tires, in a way heavier car. Driver made all the difference, great job!
The FK2 has had shade thrown at it from the day it was produced. Half a decade on and its finally showing its potential and hopefully getting the love it deserves.

I LOVE this type of car content. Its safe.....its safe, and you get to see them drive it like they stole it. But at the same time you get to see some decent real numbers. I see more smiles on this than the street single car stuff. There's a great sense of freedom driving down an airstrip with zero obstacles in front of you. keep it up Jamie i'm sure you have a huge queue of people wanting to do battle
EP3 nearly binned it on that last drag race, you should switch lanes to keep it even stevens as I swear down the EP3 had some serious dirt and dust to deal with!!
FK2 just has superior technology/modern design which lets it accelerate better low down (not sure if this has some kind of ECU programmed traction control), the EG/EP using just brute force. Good race though, pretty close all round!
The fk2 k20c vtec engine uses the exhaust camshaft timing to improve turbo spool up. The engine works with the turbo in that sense

I may be wrong but did the FK2 hit 60 in 2nd gear while the others had to go into third? That might explain the gap in the 0-60 result.
Fk2 got wider Tires = Better Traction and little bit longer gears that’s why it put down his power so well… Stock gearbox in Turbo ep3‘s are garbage. I got my self longer gears and longer final drive i can put in 2nd gear 480bhp with full traction down

K20A and K20C are completely different engines altogether. VTEC even works in a different way on a K20C. As for them sounding the same for when boosted... I'm not sure if you're joking?

K20C1 - 2015
Big difference in years and technology. Obviously K20A's are not as old as B18's and B16's, but it's still an old VTEC engine that is no longer produced.
That fk2 did a lot better than I expected, I thought the ep3 would be faster
The fk2 had way fatter tires and better traction even from roll the ep3 struggled for traction you can see it hitting the limiter on roll races struggling for traction and the fk2 pulling away
Ep3 owner was kind of silly for taking the hood off. Yeah you're going to save like 10kg which will make stuff all different but you're going to trapping all that air in the engine bay which is going to cause heaps of drag making the car slower
Ep3 guy kept hitting the brake when shifting 😆 🤣
It looked like the ep3 was stil on 215 wide tyres. Not enough for the power
100% the EP has a b.s. dyno number. 🤣🤣🤣. The dyno is probably a 10% turned up dyno
Not gonna lie I had a massive smile on my face throughout this video. The new build done well (ep3 but alot of lag in the middle of the revs) the fk2 driver can drive and the eg it just mental and my favourite 👍

The launches from the fk2 are 👌 props to the driver as the suspension geometry of the fk2 and fk8 upfront make them notoriously hard to nail launch wise
Really? When I drove the fk2 it was the best fwd car I have ever driven for finding grip from a dig or a roll. I have never driven another fwd car that could find linear grip like the fk2 type r, it was awesome. I'd prefer 4wd because fwd does have its limits but the fk2 opened my eyes to how grippy and good a fwd car can be.
@@robertowen8281 don't get me wrong, the geometry is brilliant for grip and it is unbeaten for zeroing torque steer but, drag racing, the older eg and ek chassis and their front geometry with their engine positioning vs the front axle are why they hold the fwd 1/4 mile and 1/2 records 👍
Nothing special about launching that car with its weight , my leon is 389bhp and ran the same time at pod as that fk2 but my car drives it self of the line
they are notoriously to launch where there is high grip , where they wheel spin it take off beautifully :) if it grips it tries to break the front with wheel hop .
EP3 has by far the worst suspension geometry of this lot. Also seems from the video that the EP3 has a really long 1st gear ratio which made it a slug off the line compared to the other two.

I think the noise from that EG on full boost when they were side by side in the last race (FK2 interior, window open shot) will stick with me forever lol
Shame the EP didn't have a better result on the day, once it got under way it really flew! Can't believe that was boosted in 6 hours!!!!

Man, this whole Episode was Epic. I'm an Old school Honda lover so the EG hatch has a special place in my heart.. I own a 400hp turbo EG hatch B series. It's a challenge to catch traction without a proper tire. Much respect to all the Drivers & their wicked builds.

I bought a 16D big turbo the 21st of December… doing roughly 500whp on high boost (would never be able to daily) and I have to say I LOVE it! I drive a Megane 3 RS as a daily which is also an amazing drive but man that Civic stole my heart

I think the weight of the fk2 and wheel size plays a part of him getting off the line better than the other 2. But clearly once the eg hooks up then she goes. All great cars though. Epic video🔥

Was good to see the EP3 place higher than last on the roll races haha, got a cosmic grey ep3 with black gloss wheels and the Mugen spoiler myself. Would love to charge it as its sitting 152k miles so a bit safer than boosting with a turbo. Dream is an FK2 though always wanted one over an FK8. One day.

Definitely didn’t. That EG should have been ALOT faster than it was with so much horsepower and weighing only 900kg. Go do some maths on the mph vs 1/4 mile. The EG has no where near the states power output
V-TEC overload! This was one of the most entertaining 3 way battle vids I've seen watching all their faces, just like F&F 1 U.K. edition.
EP3 sounds the best imo,but the FK2 has the best pops and bang's. Then again all 3 Civics sound so good.

I love them all, the EP3 is a favorite body style because it's closest to my Fit, the EG6 sounds amazing and is raw, but the FK2 is the one I would want to take home!
