Couldn't have picked better myself, I have 10 Embers in my 20g, they're extremely hardy and a fun personality. Chili Rasboras 'and' Green Neons are both on my list. Love the free batteries that come with each green neon. They so glow .......great video again
How about platys in a 20? Yes they’re common but so many colors, they’re active, hardy and do well in a lot of different water parameters. Also while not a common platy but in the same family - high fin variatus awesome fish with the bonus of picking on algae all day.
Had to catch the replay. Still working on my 20gal sunken pirate ship tank with goofy bubble treasure chest. Your inspiration, I'm using black gravel with black background. I'm thinking maybe 15 green neons and 8-10 Cory cats and a snail. All going in and out of the sunken ship and rum barrel. I'm old but it's still going to be fun. Thank you for your videos.
I also agree with the three fish you chose for the most colorful!! They are all stunning and pop with color for sure!! Especially in a planted aquarium!! Love your @The Small Scape videos!! You are a treat to watch!! 😊
Of all my nano fish, my chili rasboras are my absolute favorite! They are vibrant, fearless, and I adore the way they dart around! They swarm my hand any time I'm in the tank, so outgoing for any fish, especially as tiny as they are. I have them in my bedroom so I can go to sleep watching them. Great video as always. I have all of your picks, love them each for different reasons. I got your last pick wrong, I guessed betta lol.
Love, LOVE your picks! If I outlive my Pseudomugils and White Clouds, I think I would choose Green Neons for my 10 gallon. Yep. That would make this little old lady quite happy!
Still working on establishing and stocking my 55-gallon aquarium, but once that it done I want to do a Nano aquarium. This video gave me some good ideas. Thank you.
Chili rasbora are on my list of next nano fish for my 10 gallon! I have ruby red white clouds in a 20 long with black background and sand. They really pop in there :)
Jason's video on Kubotai rasboras sucked me in to nano fish and now I'm sitting here wondering what would go well with them, so thank you lol! wonderful video as always :)
I have a Tangerine Koi male Betta in a 10 gallon with 5 Neon Tetras. The Tetras really stand out. The Betta gets along really well with them. I was thinking of getting a couple more Neons to add to the group. Would that be too much for the tank? It has a HOB filter and a sponge filter.
I too have very hard water and was wondering how you successfully keep these fish since some or all like softer water. Are they locally bred, thus acclimated, or are they just hardy. Time and again I become excited about a particular fish only to find it doesn't match my water parameters. RO water is too expensive and bothersome as well.
I have some ember tetras, but I haven't tried chili rasboras yet, but I do have a nano tank with two brightly colored endler guppies and they are stunning!
I've got a breeding pair of German Blue Rams in my heavily planted 20g, along with African Dwarf Frogs and endlers, ramshorn snails, and a bristlenose pleco. No babies yet- those snails just sneak up and eat the eggs before the fish sense a threat!
10 g standard is just awkward for scaping. You are going to have to something to add some shape to the dimension, i bet...extra high substrate on one side/corner, dramatic out of water driftwood, something. Its just such a block. Consider it a challenge!
Nano fish I love are least rasbora, chili rasbora, celestial pearl danio and the emerald dwarf rasbora. I'd have these in a 5g a 10g and 20g. I also love lamb chop rasbora and Male endlers
My fave fish is Green Neon. And I have them on WHITE sand. The White reflects off their bellies and wraps a bit - making the blue pop more IMO. Black background tho. My issue is finding the right kind. I swear there's some type of 'Hybrid'??? floating around the Chicago area where there's a LOT of red on them. Like a morph of Neon & Green Neon. If you have the good ones with no or VERY scant red - Please LMK where you got them. I need 300 thousand million of them!
Yas! I have all three fish. Totes knew you were going Green Neons. Those have been my fave after wanting neons so long and never succeeding, they seem hardier than regular neons and cardinals. Still shocked you don’t own a standard 10g!
I still intend to get some CPDs as soon as I can find them or it's cool enough to get some shipped. I'm thinking of putting them in with a school of 8 X-Ray Tetra and a trio of Guppies in my 40g. Maybe in my 29 with the Cherry Shrimp colony?
If you don't have a standard 10 gal by now, you do not need one. Get yourself the 10 gal low-boy 'Brook' Tank by Hydra. It's an A-mazing footprint of 24" x 16" x 7" high. You'll LOVE it!!! and I wanna see you scape it ;)
FINN! 😃 ok! I will put that one my list aaaand if I tell Jason YOU said to get it, I think it’s a shoe in. 🙌 woop! (Ps - I’ve got a super duper fun little tank comin up 😉)
Love this video! Joanna, you might laugh, but I have a 75 g that is my nano fish community tank. So large groups of nano fish. The way they are in nature. So I have 2 of your picks, because they are my favorite fish. The chili rasboras, and the green neon tetra. Love love them and they contrast well. I just added some male guppies and am not sure if that was a good idea or not. I also have a small school of Pygmy corys that need more friends because they are very shy. Any thoughts on how many of each the tank can be happy in? There are a few I might want to add, the threadfin Rainbowfish which I have had before and brought me a lot of pleasure. It is a planted tank, and I am currently overwhelmed by algae 😱but hopefully more plants, stems unfortunately, and crypts (my fav) plus anubias and some new shrimp called short nose shrimp that is said to eat pretty much all types of algae 🤩🤩🤩, that sounds great will help address the algae. So if you have time, I would love your opinion. ❤️ I also have 2 empty 10 gallons and 1 5 that I will probably need to scape at one point. 😁. Thanks for some many great videos and great hacks.
Can't find Chili Rasboras anywhere, and even if I wanted to pay the exorbitant overnight rip off charges to get them , they aren't even available online. I'm trying to order them through my local fish store but I doubt they'll produce. Can't even get Pygmy Corys around here. (NH) Edit 5/2/23...my local pet shop called and said they have them coming in tomorrow. I placed a special order request about a month ago. Yay....
Funny you mentioned chili rasbora. I bought 10 yesterday and another 10 today. I kinda fallen in love with that tiny little fish and the and the bright red color. It really stands out. It my first attempt of keeping them. Another cool fish you mentioned is the ember tetra that I also bought ten of today. It also is a colorful fish with it’s orange color and quite playful and curious too. I also bought like 20 of clown killifish. That is also my first attempt of having them
I have never kept green neons, but you make them look awesome. I am a huge fan of black neons in a community tank, but I may need to get some green in the future.
Gold White Mountain Minnows are so cute. They have red lips and blue around the eye. They are easy, hardy, and fun.
Green neon rasboras are the same size with chillies and bright green.
I just scaped my 10gal this past weekend , was supposed to be my quarantine tank but oh well
Two words: Pseudomugil Luminatus. They are so gorgeous in color and fin shape, and their crazy morning duels make them very entertaining to watch!
I have 20 Ember Tetras in a 20 long and 25 Green Neon Tetras in my 29 gallon.
Love these fish and the color pop they give!

neon tetras are so common yet stunning in a nice planted tank, as are ember and green tetras...
If anyone didn't guess Green Neons, they don't know you at all, lol! Great video as always Joanna!
I also agree with the three fish you chose for the most colorful!! They are all stunning and pop with color for sure!! Especially in a planted aquarium!! Love your @The Small Scape videos!! You are a treat to watch!! 😊

I’m really enjoying my celestial pearl danios. With a little driftwood, brown gravel and a few plants reminds me of trout in a river!
they look like tiny little brown trout. they are beautiful
Green neons for the Win! 💕💕😁🥰
😎 I would like to get all three of these types of fish eventually
Love, LOVE your picks! If I outlive my Pseudomugils and White Clouds, I think I would choose Green Neons for my 10 gallon. Yep. That would make this little old lady quite happy!

Fantastic selection of fish! Getting all of these!
Chili rasbora are on my list of next nano fish for my 10 gallon! I have ruby red white clouds in a 20 long with black background and sand. They really pop in there :)
Another Awesome video Joanna!!!🇨🇦😍
Chili rasboras! Striking little guys!! I have a thing for the Norman's Lamp Eye Killi fish.... those eyes sparkle from across the room ✨
Hi you guys! Oh, what a great choice, I must agree …those eyes!! ☺️
Jason's video on Kubotai rasboras sucked me in to nano fish and now I'm sitting here wondering what would go well with them, so thank you lol! wonderful video as always :)
Nice quick & informative video. Neons look cool.
I love my embers, I have them in a 40 gallon "nano". I bought 20 from flip aquatics 6 months ago, and I still have 20.
Love my little embers
I love all three fish mentioned. All are beautiful. 🌹❤ Gina Hetlage
Thanks Gina! ☺️

I love all the beautiful snails in your tank at the end!
Thank you - they always make me smile 😊
Exactly my picks. I love my Embers too! Haven't found Chili Rasboras or Green Neon anywhere here (south of Orlando).
I too have very hard water and was wondering how you successfully keep these fish since some or all like softer water. Are they locally bred, thus acclimated, or are they just hardy.

Hi Joanna 😁 I love all of your picks. I need some Chili Rasboras in my life....maybe some Green Neons and....
Does the addiction ever end??? 🤔
Love this episode ❤️❤️❤️
I've got a breeding pair of German Blue Rams in my heavily planted 20g, along with African Dwarf Frogs and endlers, ramshorn snails, and a bristlenose pleco. No babies yet- those snails just sneak up and eat the eggs before the fish sense a threat!
I like your ideas
All great picks!
👍❤👍

i'd love to know about all your 15 and under tanks please
Nano fish I love are least rasbora, chili rasbora, celestial pearl danio and the emerald dwarf rasbora. I'd have these in a 5g a 10g and 20g. I also love lamb chop rasbora and Male endlers
CHILI RASBORAS GREAT LOOKING
I have 15 ember tetras in a densely planted 10 g with a koi betta who is orange/red w/ blue specs.

My chili rasbs are not red but like reddish translucent
Nice video, helpful 👍 👍
Love your videos!! So much fun.
Thank you, Brenda! ☺️

@011011 good to know!
All awesome tiny little guys! Great list!! 💙💚🐟✨🧡❤️ I sure do love those magenta mystery snails with the green neons!! 💙💚🐟✨💜🐌
Me too - a match made in heaven ☺️
Could you put green neons in a 5 gallon tank?
I just planted (dry start) my 6g tank. Not sure what I’ll put in there. There won’t be a lot of cover for fish.
Just got some guppies and wow they are too cute
Those tails, right?! ☺️

Knew you would put green neon on the list
Heehee 😉 💚
What about Batt or with shrimp

Green neons, yeah. Green neons and ember tetras, oh yeah.
Woohoo green neons by far the coolest nano fish 🥶 I would love a tank full of them mixed with chilli rasboras the hottest nano fish 🥵
That. Would. Be. Amazing!! 🥹
awesome vid
wal-mart is now selling a 10 gallon tank for $15 regular price ...ive bought 3 so far.
Chili rasbora? Endlers?. ... and... idk... furcata?... no celestial pearl danio
Meh... one for 3... I thought for sure guppies would be on the list so I went with endler's...

Another reason to get another tank.I just found another 10 and 20 gallon tank someone tossed out
Woop! Woop! 🙌
