Unrivaled production quality given your scale, plus nobody does in-depth mechanical deep dives like you guys! The irreverant edgy humor is just the cherry on top 👍
This could be a graduation commencement speech. Everyone needs to hear this, regardless of what you do or want to do. This applies to everything in life. Thank you for all you do and truly hope you find what you do rewarding and that you are happy. You very much have earned that! Now let’s set up this track day!
As an engineer in automotive industry I appreciate engineer talk so much. Every product has to have countless compromises and understanding what development team set out to do helps to wrap head around the product. No other automotive journalist attacks engineering side detailed as you and people passionate about cars do care about engineering of the car. Congratulations on anniversary!
Yes Mark connects the engineering elements with the end product and how it affects you. Plus he gives you the gestalt. Others get so absorbed with small details that they lose sight of the big picture. I am curious how much engineering is CAD first and how much is from experience or on paper? It's so cool you watch and enjoy Savagegeese. 👍
The goose guys don't treat their viewers like they're dummies, also. As an engineer that is also degree'd in journalism, I appreciate that they set the bar higher than the average journalist even.
As a small business owner of 17 years, I feel that I can't relate to your struggles and advise. You are wise beyond your 5 years of running Savagegeese as a business. Keep up the great work and superior content. You're the new Car and Driver to the automotive enthusiasts.
Recap to this excellent talk: 1. Know your place - show respect and honesty in terms of where you are among the group. 2. It’s more important to be respected than liked - long term, integrity among peers goes far. 3. Know that everyone isn't going to be on the same page - harbor a unifying atmosphere, lean into constructive criticism, pick battles. 4. Evolve and don’t get complacent - effort to try different things prevents stagnation. 5. There’s no magic formula for success - don’t trade off long-term success for short-term success. 6. Don’t worry about what everyone else is doing - focus on what you’re good at. 7. It takes time patience and money to grow - sometimes you’re going to lose time and money. 8. Don’t chase dead ends - find/work with people that value what you do. 9. Learn when to say no - know your limit, it’s OK to say “no” to things. 10. Don’t be reactive - especially if it’s at the expense of someone else, someone’s business, or something you don’t really understand. 11. Always make an effort to understand the other side of things - find a commonality with people that are different than you. 12. Don’t be your own worse enemy - you will sabotage yourself. 13. STFU - even if you believe in what you said, if you’re not affecting positive change, save your energy for situations where you can. 14. Don’t go broke chasing big projects - balance the creative side with the business side. 15. Have a personal end game on the business side - the importance of goals. 16. It’s OK to question and be critical - as long as you know what you’re talking about and are trying to learn and improve. 17. Numbers are misleading - don’t get nuts over them, sometimes you have to take a risk/go with your heart, do what you love to do. 18. Understand the space you compete in - understand what’s happening around you with other people and mindsets. 19. Don’t overshare and get personal - in relation to politics, religion, and social issues, be open rather than creating divides. 20. Mark acknowledged that he skipped one at the end.
One of the best decisions you made was bringing Jack onboard. You two have great opinions and are able to express them intelligently. Not to mention Jack's antics behind the wheel, he's like Clarkson, just more refined. You guys could find a third who would be "The Hamster"! This video wasn't just car video advice but great life advice also!
Your commitment to quality, originality, and irreverence is outstanding. You pioneered a unique format for the genre, and it's been interesting seeing how comfortable Jack has become in front of the camera.
You became one of the most trusted car guys on TH-cam. Numerous times I heard from friends "Oh, there is one blogger from somewhere-Chicago, I really trust his reviews".
Thanks! Been a sub for about three years. Best car channel. You have real passion. Jack has been awesome. I watch almost every video you do, even though I may not be interested in the car. You are one of the big reasons I bought my Toyota Sienna. Loved the honest review. The honesty and humor keeps me interested and always coming back. Thank you for that.
Glad to say I was one of those converted 'haters' who had nothing but garbage to spew until the channel responded to my comment with a genuine question as to how they can better improve. I gave them my honest advice, they thanked me for it and I've been a subscriber ever since! Always loved the video quality of this channel and just how sincere the hosts seem to be. Keep it up folks, this is how you fix the internet :)
Harsh critique is often a result of not being heard. A voice ignored grows louder. And it is often convenient for people to just ignore them further because of that, instead of harnessing one's own transformative power, putting something of oneself into the situation, which requires breaking out from the taker mentality where people have more or less abstract survival on their mind and then check the buffet to see what they like and take that, never wondering where the buffet came from. I see a severe lack of nourishment for people who naturally want to give. They fall prey easily to the most ruthless takers, and ultimately this hurts society more than the givers - unless the giving comes from a place of fear, that is. Rarely I interact with someone I consider saintly: who willingly takes in negative energy, converts it and sends the result out. That is the inner strength and ability that heals the world. But it can be overwhelmed, and so both the healer and others need to pause and question themselves. There is a good anecdote about these things, a faith healer named Bruno Gröning, who enabled people to open themselves and live the healing. He had remarkable abilities to both heal and teach others to heal themselves. Then he died, and most followers scattered in the winds. But a few people had understood and continued his mission, and that keeps the healing alive until today. - Bruno Gröning was a simple human being. The message in that is what potential is in all of us.
As an engineer I watch every one of your vids because of the pure substance and you talk to an informed audience. I hate the channels that take like the audience is a bunch of 5 yr olds. Anytime a family member or friend is in the car market your vids are my go to guide for them.
Can't thank you (and Jack) enough for all of the time and effort you've put into such a meaningful auto channel. This video is so humbling and well done. Watching my 93 year old grandfather revert to baser behavior that's sadly a bit stereotypical, I hope when I do it's still wanting to learn and listen to others. Be well and thanks again for passing along such amazing advice.
I don't really have any feedback to give, just saying thanks for all the work you and Jack do to give us high quality, funny (even if the humor can sometimes be a bit out there lol), INFORMATIVE, car content.
Hi Mark. If you get the chance to read this. Just want you to know I appreciate what you do and the amount of effort you put into creating videos, etc . I'm proud of your achievements and wish you lots more success in your dreams and understand how it's very challenging to balance everything. You're doing a great job . Take a break if you can. Your loyal fans will understand and will be here waiting. Live long and prosper, my friend Aziz.
As somebody who knows you a bit, i can say this makes me smile. Your "character" is a bit more cynical and grumpy but you're SO SO SO nice and positive in person the handful of times I've been around you. This kind of occasional face to face style video is so great for your fans to get to know you a bit more. Excellent info too - my MINOR toe in the automotive journalism pool backs up everything you've said.
#13 is one that I personally have really had to learn and adopt as I've grown. It's easy to get so caught up in the idea that we "disseminate knowledge to the masses" that we begin to think that our opinions are facts. Many times as of late I've found myself really needing to see the forest from the trees and just shutting up to really understand another's perspective. Thanks for this video, Mark! I'm gonna go tell Jack to shut the f--- up now and then curse out people in the comments section.
We started our channels at around the same time, me with the BRZ and you with the FRS. Since then we've both gone down very different paths with our channels from those early days, but I always come back here for inspiration and have really enjoyed watching your journey!
Hey team Mark! I started watching your channel back when Turbowski was part of the team, so I have seen the evolution of your content. I have enjoyed viewing your channel, and I think the 'it' factor for me, is that you have a great dry sense of humor, and are the adult in the room- and I have respect for your knowledge in the automotive industry. Congratulations on your decade long run! Thank you.
Genuine, top quality, otherwordly footage, no annoying gimmicks. Love the channel, I wish you all the best! Keep at it. The M3 F80 and the Dodge Demon reviews are two favourites 😂
Wise words! Keep on doing what you’re passionate about but please do us all a favor and don’t burn out. If someday you have the feeling that you need to take a break then go ahead and take a break. The community will be here when you come back! As I wrote a few years back… the cream will always rise to the top and your channel is on its way there. Cheers, Lupo
Thank you for all the reasons everyone else is mentioning. The absolute best channel for anyone who really cares about the details. Perfect mix of "normal" consumer car reviews as well as the fun performance cars on the side.
Sounds like most of these 20 lessons could be summed up in one word: Humility. Thanks for sharing the lessons this professional odyssey has brought to you personally. At multiple levels, we appreciate what you do.
I rarely comment at all but I watch pretty much everything you upload, the production quality and the in-depth exploration of all the vehicle systems and engineering that most automotive journalists don't do is what keeps me coming back. Some nights I'll even rewatch past favorites before bed. Although now I can't watch most other automotive TH-cam channels since they are all so 'surface level', you've spoilt them haha. It's obvious you have spent DAYS thinking about what your viewers actually want to see, and that level of care is really appreciated. I'll leave you with this idea to take it to the next level.I am that guy in my circle that everyone will go to when shopping for a new car and I'll always ask them what's most important to them. I narrow it down from there. Regarding that I have always thought that it is that a shame that you don't have an outlet in written format that expands on everything you have done before, you must have mountains of information and writing just sitting there. Like a website with a catalogue of all the reviews you have done. For example lets say I was shopping for a comfortable daily driver and Audio Quality and NVH is most important to me, each vehicle had a section dedicated to that and I could easily see how each car compares to another. Same goes for if I was shopping for a track car and I wanted to see its suspension geometry. I know what I am recommending is a mountain of work but you could have a website that would be a one stop shop with information that you probably already have and people would trust it because they trust you. Then the next time when someone asks me for vehicle advice I'd have somewhere to point them. I feel like it could be profitable with enough traffic. Thank you and keep it up🙏
I really value the depth at which you guy’s review the cars from an engineering standpoint. Nobody else reviews cars that way while also keeping things easy to understand and entertaining. Congratulations on what you have achieved
Honestly, Craig Ferguson's special 'Does this need to be said?' was so good for that point you made 1. Does this need to be said? 2. Does this need to be said BY ME? 3. Does this need to be said, by me, NOW? Your reviews are pretty much must watches for me, the long form content is always on point 👍
Loved this...especially taking negative feedback and using it constructively. I have also done this in my own career arc. I used to suffer from imposter syndrome and negative comments reinforced that I didn't belong. Now I take the negative feedback and analyze it. If it's valid criticism I use that feedback to try to improve myself. I wasn't capable of this in my 20s or even my 30s but now I realize I am doing the job well and I can always be better. I greatly enjoyed the self awareness from your video and the transparency.
Thanks, Mark! You’re one of the only Auto Reviewers that actually takes the time to share more about what your life looks like beyond just reviewing vehicles as well as sharing helpful advice to people who don’t know nearly as much as you do! I mainly look for auto review videos done by someone who deeply knows the vehicle they’re reviewing, cares about what they’re doing/who they’re doing it for, and lastly, gives their honest answer to the question, “would I buy one, why or why not?” Thanks again!
You tread the incredibly difficult line of being extremely professional and thorough while not taking everything so seriously. It’s the combination of in-depth analysis with a hilarious dose of irreverence that makes your production so enjoyable to watch. Production quality and insider industry access while remaining objectively independent is also a big plus.
I was lukewarm on you fellas for a bit, but after a bit more time I realized how much great info is in your content. There is no sensational BS filler - it's all just solid yet with entertainment mixed in. It's obvious how much hard work is required. You guys have something special - keep it going!!!
Some good points here. Number one especially resonates with me. I work as a designer(mostly exterior styling) for a large OEM, and it can sometimes be tough to watch reviews or read comments from automotive media. As you said, the development of a vehicle is a huge project with many people, some of which put unbelievable amounts of time and energy into trying to make the best product they can (and definitely a few who are lazy and complacent), and it can be tough to read harsh criticisms of your work. Sometimes the criticisms are valid, and often we agree with them, since many times we fought but lost the battle to make something better, but it can still be frustrating. I really like how you try your best to highlight the people behind the car. For me, it is what separates you from much of the other automotive media. Thanks.
One of my favorite channels on TH-cam. You guys have pushed the entire car TH-camr industry forward through the quality and personality of your videos. Keep up the good work.
I think your production and content quality has risen exponentially as time has gone on and I consider this channel required viewing in the automotive space. I do miss Turbowski, but Jack is tops.
Is that just nostalgia, though? I think the channel has been a lot more successful with Jack's commitment. Turbowski had other things to focus on rather than some bald guy's videos.
@@JohnFromAccounting Turbowski offered an irreverent, grizzled take on mechanic life that suited the early days of the channel. Missing his humor doesn't imply that the channel has or hasn't been more successful since. Some thought he was annoying. I found him to be funny.
I appreciate the way you guys form relationships with the engineers and real people behind these machines. High production value. I cant wait to see you guys hit 1M
Dude, your integrity and production quality are above reproach. I find myself watching savage geese videos about cars I have no interest in at all just because I want to learn what is going on in the car world. You guys really are the modern version of the car magazine of 25 years ago. Here's to 10 more years!
Hey guys, I dont know if you'll see this message but after binge watching your videos, I decided to purchase an LC500 here in Germany despite the track-related drawbacks (compared to 911s for example). Im saving up and at the beginning of next year I should have my dream come true. Motivation is a killer! Hope you dont get burnt out and that you'll keep putting out the nerdy, in-depth vehicle documentaries full of jokes and attitude that you have been posting up to this point. Love ya guys!
I got to know this channel because the LC 500 is my dream car and I saw a recommendation to their first video about it. I have been following savagegeese since then. I am also in Germany, close to retirement, and if somehow possible/affordable, I will purchase one someday (looks like you're a bit ahead of me :-)
Problems on track are meaningless for a car like the LC500. It's a street car. If you were buying a GT3 then the track problems would be very important.
Spoken like a leader. Thank you. I’ll never forget the video that you posted about losing a coworker and how you learned from that moment what you needed to do. And like a leader, you shared it so others could learn and grow.
I'm subscribed to DOZENS of Car TH-cam channels, and you guys are certainly in my top 3. You keep the humour to a minimal and if the vehicle deserves it you go into insane detail. I admire your honesty and trust your opinions. I hope that you not only continue moving forward with the same energy and passion, but that it also becomes the successful business that your channel deserves. Thank you for everything so far...
This video spoke to me so much. I had a similar spot in the basketball niche that you guys do in cars, and I'm about 10 years in from where I started too. About same amount of subs and respect from the community. I reached the peak of my initial dream, did the dream projects multiple times over, then got burnt out and stagnant. I got an offer later to be bought out and hired, I did the corporate version of my content which I hated and quickly stepped away from, and for the past year I've been sitting on my money and creative ideas, thinking exactly what you said... now what? It's exhausting trying to figure that out but knowing I'm not alone helps so much. What you said about not chasing the clickbait and playing the long game is equivalent to what you said the respect vs liking thing. The passion in the vids can be felt every single time which earns that respect, the same way it does when you meet people that just get it, and don't bullshit you whether you like them or not. Great video, didn't need any B roll or anything just perfect thanks
Keep doing what you're doing. Anytime I was looking for another car, or for someone else, your videos are the go to so long as you've had the vehicle. The level of honestly is superior to those others who just essentially make their own version of a long winded commercial. Being in rentals alot and driving some of the piles you've driven most times, you and Jack are spot on.
You literally sold me on the 2016 Mazda 6 based on your video enough to buy & cherish the car. Thank you! It is beyond painful to see your videos go underrepresented & underappreciated. 😢
Thanks for all the terrific videos Mark + Jack. The engineering and technical deep dives are a breath of fresh air in the 'car reviewer' space. And have kept me as a long term viewer. I feel this video is very applicable to anyone looking at how to run a small business or project as well. Very insightful overall. Thanks again
I think what you are summing up in your 20 lessons is how you learned to live life through the lens of auto journalism videos. Much of what you have observed and learned is dealing with people, yourself included and produce something valuable to other car enthusiasts. There is something very satisfying in creating a product that is informative, helpful and enjoyable to others. Thanks, love your car videos.
Man I remember finding you 10 years ago during my second year of university. I was procrastinating from studying when I found your FRS video. Idk what it was but the way you talked and your views really struck with me and shaped the values I have now when looking at cars. It also made me so appreciative of cars (especially my own). Love your transparency and dedication. Thank you so much for all your years of hard work. I wish I could drink with you guys cheers! お疲れ様!
Keep it up, guys. Back in the day, advertisements and subscriptions kept magazines alive. The new, digital age is something else. I’ve really enjoyed watching this channel over the years. A token of appreciation 👌
@@snggarageeng Through TH-cam app. That said, they'll charge you tax and probably take a cut. So my $11 probably was $8 by the time SG got it... Patreon might be a better route!
Don't sell yourselves short, your work is top notch, as good as DD, JC, TG etc. This channel is my first stop when I am looking at a new car. Keep up the great work! Cheers from Montreal!
My favorite automotive channel right here. Love the in-depth look at things, the dry midwestern-esque humor and sarcasm, and just overall how easy it is to relate to you guys. I just graduated from college, and I went through a lot of tough moments. But whenever a video popped up from you guys, it always improved my day. Thank you for what you guys do!!🙏🏻🙏🏻
“Harbor a unifying atmosphere” and not falling into negativity is one of the best tips for LIFE not just business. It’s a game changer to be around upbeat positive people
Along with many other things I appreciate about the channel, a few things come to mind. I appreciate the balanced and honest reviews, but moreso I appreciate you giving the engineers a voice. This industry has been overrun by MBAs and Salespeople, but the engineering and design is the true core of any great vehicle.
Wow -- some people make content, but SG gives hard-won, heartfelt advice. It's a breath of fresh air to hear someone speak meaningfully and without that condescending "content producer" tone. Thank you for the last 10 years.
I really appreciate how outspoken you've been in these 1-on-1 videos about making an effort to not be divisive with people in places where it wouldn't be productive or helpful to anyone (whether it's political, social, or just about cars). I don't know if it was the internet's fault, but it does feel there's a new level of addiction to being reactive and always acting on some tribal instinct of "I'd better make sure nobody thinks I agree with the wrong thing about topic X". We should hear more people pushing a level-headed and harmonious approach to interacting with each other and just finding common ground instead of lasering in on differences. Great video as always, Mr. Geese.
Started watching savage geese when I owned a 2017 ford escape and he pretty much trashed it and I was pissed but I took a second look and he was honest about his review and I've been a huge fan ever since, please share this channel and promote all the hard work mark and jack do!
I always watched your videos with you Jack and Turbowski. There was a bit of sarcasm early on but you have gotten much more objective and provide so much good information, not just information. I appreciate that. I love track driving and also weekend cruising. A big difference in the vehicle types. Love your channel and always appreciate your viewpoint. Keep doing what your doing. Please.
This channel is most definitely on the same level of throttle house. Two different channels with extremely high production values and some humor. The great thing is about all the popular car channels can co-exist because none of them really overlap, as much as one would assume.
I'm sorry to hear that you have been feeling burnt out. A break is something you're entitled to and I for certain will still be here. In terms of how things have progressed, I personally have felt what Savagegeese was great at was looking at cars from the likely buyer's point of view. This has began to wane in my opinion, especially when reviewing fairly ordinary, affordable cars like Toyotas. I feel like Jack, as brilliant as he can be really struggles when he is reviewing cars from Lexus as they tend to be more traditional and play safe, he seems unable to put himself in the buyer's shoes. Wish you guys well and hope you'll still be doing this for years to come.
You are the fun side of the car business! Congrats and thanks for everything over the years, the generosity and help on many occasions and this program is already a legend.
Anytime you feel significant caught up or off course (goals, life, whatever) rewatch this. This goes for you too SG team. There is much future value in these past lessons. Have a great weekend and keep up the great content🥃
Yes, what we teach others should always also serve as reminders to ourselves. And we also teach others so that they can catch us when we falter and forget what we have learned.
Damn, it's wild to think I've been watching you review piles for that long. But seriously, I'm glad to have someone like you with your more down to earth, honest perspective on cars doing reviews. Thank you for all the content you make.
I recently culled my subscribed channels (most of which were vehicle channels and creators Mark mentioned). I refuse to cut this channel for the sole reason that the content is not standard fare (ie: this video). As a viewer for the past 8 years, I cannot thank you guys enough for the hard work and insight you've provided.
Appreciate your honesty. Self-assessment admission to our faults isn’t an easy thing to do. All of your points i agree with, except 1. Every other channels are a ‘Geneva’ to all manufacturers. Your honest negativity around your frustration with design, material selection & all of their associated pain points are what makes you so different & trustworthy. Sure we can all tone things down a bit, but i hope you do not change this aspect of your vehicle reviews. i’m sure more than 50% of your viewers will appreciate this information so that we can go and look at these issues for ourselves before making the purchase decision. some of the issues you bring up will never be noticeable at the showroom or even during a normal short test drive. your attention to detail & criticisms are probably responsible preventing ‘expensive’, 1000s of buyer’s remorse. I salute you sir. please keep up the amazing work!
Love your channel. Been watching since 2016 when I bought a Mazda 6. You were the reason I commited to the decision and it's still the best driving card I've ever had. Appreciate your time, effort and drive. Rest up this year and stay well.

A lot of this material is something I’ve experienced and went through in such a short period of time with growing my channel. I’ve always been entertained by your content and love the direction your brand evolves towards. You guys are a part of my inspiration and partially responsible for my channel’s existence. Thank you so much for this video, it’s been incredibly informative and valuable, especially with #19 hitting close to home. Keep up the incredible work!
Mark & Jack, thanks for always putting out content that goes above and beyond. As an engineer, I really appreciate the technical interviews you conduct with product design teams and giving the team members an avenue to share all the work and decisions that went into creating the product that they spent years developing. I tend watch a lot of automotive TH-cam, but your videos consistently have the most substance. Cheers to another 10 years!
Mark, you and Jack are next level by a big margin. Although the subs number feels frustrating low I suspect it simply reflects most YT viewers just want mindless entertainment or don’t possess the requisite IQ’s. Cheap, loud and chintzy is pretty much what the high majority of the market wants.
I’m one of your very early on subscribers and I was worried that because of your honesty that car manufacturers wouldn’t support you anymore. But it seems like you’ve found a way to keep everyone happy for the most part and I’m happy for that because this is the one channel where I can watch and actually learn something with no drama and no bs. I actually watch every single video even tho I will never buy most of the cars that you’ll review. Great job guys
I think my favorite part of the videos is Mark and Jack under the lift, just talking about the underpinnings and engineering behind the car. Not a single other car review channel even comes close to the level of information packed into it. This is not just my favorite car channel, but YT channel in general. I think it's because there is real passion behind it, and both these guys understand to take the good with the bad. The content is usually serious and informative, which is why I appreciate the baked in humor that sometimes stays for more than one video - ex. A.I. talking segment or Jack raving about the legendary "BeeeeFifty-eighttt". Also, they practice what they preach. Even within their own videos, Mark and Jack have disagreements, so then ask, "why?" And sometimes it's just to learn something or gain a new point of perspective. When finding the cause of disagreements you do not have to win them over. Thank you for all your hard work, we hope there is more to come!
I remember watching you the first time after I bought a 2010 Camaro in Japan back in 2014. You were technical, unbiased and your voice soothed me to sleep at night LOL. I hope you can keep doing what you do, maybe get in on the new Japanese cars that have met the 25 year law here in the US and can be imported over. Might be tough but would be interesting to see more of.
The life wisdom here is unparalleled. Your openness to listen to criticism objectively and avoid reactivity is something everyone could do more. "Ignore the haters" mantra puts everyone in an echo chamber. Doesn't make them right or worth reacting to though necessarily. That said, something I've noticed is vastly different between manufacturers and even models is safety tech implementation and crash test ratings... I wish *some of the high quality* car reviewers would start giving those attributes a section as much as performance or styling. Getting hurt in a car crash or seeing one changes your car buying priorities pretty quick, and is not fun. EDIT: this video could end up being epic and that's the thumbnail we got hahaha
I'm car illiterate but I really enjoy the honesty. I feel the joy, disappointment, and meh feels when you drive. You aren't a hype man and that's why I'm here. Brightens my day to see another video from you guys.
I just like your outro song. In all seriousness, above all else, I appreciate how honest and straight your reviews are. That the production quality and cinematography of the videos are up there with the best is an added bonus.
This channel is my number one go to for car reviews since I highly value and appreciate the honesty, the shoppe segments, the driving impressions and the humour. Keep up the good work ! 👏
Just wanted to let you know why this is my favorite channel to watch. You all review so many different types of autos always giving your real detailed opinions on why they are good and sometimes why they suck. And going into such detail. And sometimes you all are funny doing it(don't lose that factor please), adds to your channel. Some other channels just showcase car and car and nothing of substance. I actually learn quite a bit. Keep up the great work and looking forward to more videos!!!
Candid and insightful video! What I really appreciate most about the content on this channel is that you are not afraid to be honest. You do a lot of things right, but that's the big one that keeps me coming back.
I came for the comedy many years ago. I stayed for the in-depth and honest reviews. I think I started watching you sometime in 2018 (Turbowski was still a regular and your outros were always hilarious), and ironically I have not been in the market for a new vehicle in all of that time. I just enjoy seeing what the latest trends are and maybe a review on an old classic every now and then, and you guys do it better than anyone in my honest opinion.
I bought an F-Type R partially based upon these guys and just about to pull the trigger on a Blackwing CT-V 4. Thanks for your advice and objective journalism!
When I started researching cars to buy mid covid here in Western Canada I came across the channel and love the insight. the humour and the real understanding of what folks need to know. THANKS!
I always remember watching your first video, I was looking for Mazda 3 review and that video made me yours subscriber and patreon only fans! I’ve seen and read some people in the industry and you are unique in your way. In so many ways it changed my mind about certain cars and why people buy them. All the technical support from the manufacturer side were not common in the automotive journalism to this level. I really appreciate what you doing
I think what I appreciate most is the respect you two men show your audience. This may be the only team in media that doesn’t treat the folks watching like idiots.
The reason that I appreciate your channel versus the rest in terms of Automotive content are all on the list of lessons you described. Being authentic in what you want to cover and not just grabbing the newest "it" car and spitting out a video. We truly learn from your videos while being entertained. That's the difference and I appreciate the work you and Jack put into this.
Thank you for sharing your passion for cars and allowing us to tag along on your journey. Your willingness to take an introspective pause only increases the value of your work. Well done.
You can tell this advice works because I've come back to SG in a big way this year and about maybe 5 years ago I wrote them off completely. Now I consider your work the premier youtube automotive content on youtube. Keep up the great work sirs.
Unrivaled production quality given your scale, plus nobody does in-depth mechanical deep dives like you guys! The irreverant edgy humor is just the cherry on top 👍
Couldnt agree more
Sarah-n-tuned is the only other TH-camr getting cars on the lift and geeking over all technical stuff
Beautifully said 🙏🎥🏁
@@vitaliyurchanka5322 yea I would love to see them both do a video together if possible 2 of the best on TH-cam
This could be a graduation commencement speech. Everyone needs to hear this, regardless of what you do or want to do. This applies to everything in life. Thank you for all you do and truly hope you find what you do rewarding and that you are happy. You very much have earned that! Now let’s set up this track day!
I was just thinking this. I’m graduating this Sunday and I’m glad i decided to watch this.
Recap to this excellent talk:
I like the two-presenter idea. You can't fit three people in the front row of a car.

Great points, great video. One of the most genuine channels on TH-cam. 🔥
What did you hate?
@@FerasAlhawasScott Turbovski probably
More importantly, instead of fixing the internet, sounds like you have a lot of work to do on your approach :)
Not good that you needed acknowledgement and validation to be able to appreciate the channel but whatever.
As an engineer I watch every one of your vids because of the pure substance and you talk to an informed audience. I hate the channels that take like the audience is a bunch of 5 yr olds. Anytime a family member or friend is in the car market your vids are my go to guide for them.
100% agree
If someone is thinking about buying a car I tell them watching his review on it is a MUST
Can't thank you (and Jack) enough for all of the time and effort you've put into such a meaningful auto channel.
Thank you for supporting this channel with your hard earned money.

Congrats Mr Geese, 10 years is a milestone!
Happy to be part of it
We started our channels at around the same time, me with the BRZ and you with the FRS.

Sounds like most of these 20 lessons could be summed up in one word: Humility. Thanks for sharing the lessons this professional odyssey has brought to you personally. At multiple levels, we appreciate what you do.
Thanks for keeping it real and opening up about these things. We love you Mark!
Honestly, Craig Ferguson's special 'Does this need to be said?' was so good for that point you made
Thank you for supporting this channel with your hard earned money.
Mark's wit and dry humor is unmatched. You don't pander to the audience and we feel it through your videos.
Thanks, Mark! You’re one of the only Auto Reviewers that actually takes the time to share more about what your life looks like beyond just reviewing vehicles as well as sharing helpful advice to people who don’t know nearly as much as you do!
I mainly look for auto review videos done by someone who deeply knows the vehicle they’re reviewing, cares about what they’re doing/who they’re doing it for, and lastly, gives their honest answer to the question, “would I buy one, why or why not?”
Thanks again!
It has been fun watching you grow through the years. Thank you for all the content you have made.
Thank you for your integrity.
20 Lessons for life, not just making car videos. Love you guys, keep up the great work.

Geese.
Thanks for all your hard work and excellent content.

Probably my favourite car channel, this is the hidden gem of car TH-cam. Never stop doing what you do, don’t change anything for no one
Authenticity. Knowledge. Quality. The three pillars of SG content. Absolutely love your work and will forever be a subscriber.
To my knowledge, no one else in this industry is addressing these sorts of lessons. I'm glad you are. Stay the course. Thank you.

I always liked your content. Your Integra Type R Ghosts of the past (if ai remember it was titled) is a masterpiece.

Your “In the shop” segment is unparalleled in the industry. I always come back just for that! Thank you!
Great advice! It's interesting hearing the perspectives that lead to the creation of your great content.
Thank you for supporting this channel with your hard earned money.
This video reaches far beyond TH-cam and Car reviews. Words to consider for anyone in a career or relationship. Keep going, its worth it
Thank you for sharing your passion for cars and allowing us to tag along on your journey.
