I was really interested in hoodoo some time ago & got nothing but shame for being white & watched a multiple videos on the subject & many books, but sadly all of the white hoodoo practices got worse than I got, so I stepped away 😢.
I wanted a safe place to learn about all practices, but I was basically told I needed to stay in my lane 😭.
I respect these practitioners with so much experience, but it wasn't there 😕.
      Love your content & knowledge.

As a black person, I've gotten some criticism and pushed back over the runes. But what drew me to them initially is the fact that some of them are carved into crystals and stones. I've always been drawn to Crystal since age 7. It made perfect sense that I would be drawn to this method of divination more so than the others. Thanks for all your knowledge and information, don't let the haters get you down

    • @honeygummy8022

@@onesunnyday5699 no disrespect to you at all, but hoodoo revolves around and originates with the ancestors of African Americans, with influences of West African spirituality, native American spirituality, etc. It was born out of the need to protect our ancestors and their families who were enslaved. It is a closed practice. But there is a very similar path to hoodoo that white people in parts of Appalachia practiced, called either Appalachian folk magic or 'granny magic'. You should look into it, to see if it resonates with you 🌱

    • @davruck1
      @davruck1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

That’s because people got killed over such knowledge. Plus everyone tries to act like knowledge belongs to a particular group when it belongs to humanity. Also Europeans deliberately prevented blacks from practicing magic. That’s why some will get upset when whites practice hoodoo. Hoodoo was a form of covert magic necessitated by European persecution.

I wish people would understand that “magic” (our inner source power) is available to all people. How shallow is it to think that you can only practice one form because of where you were born in this life? Closed minded witches (and people) irk me. I study all cultures, all practices and incorporate them all in my life. I’ve done past life practices where I’m connect to so many other cultures than the one in this life. Entitlement is a spiritual block. Keep making these great videos! I love it! 💙

Haters are always going to hate ...if the runes call to you don't apologize, don't ever take down your videos because someone else is offended by them... that's their problem ...if the runes didn't call to you, you wouldn't be called to make a video ...putting the knowledge out there ,which promotes more people to investigate, and have their own experiences with the runes... in Viking culture these symbols were primarily used by the shaman and the crones,or Wise Women, both of these people lived apart from the warrior class similar to the way we have military and civilians separated nowadays the shaman always stood apart from the common man or woman... and they were responsible for the spiritual growth of their community and the spiritual health of their community... I respect any and all who are called by the runes and their energies and are called upon to share their wisdom thank you for sharing your gifts and have a great day

It makes me realize how ignorant people can be. Most of these negative comments that people are writing seem very racist to me. I am not of Scandinavia heritage. I’m just wondering why you are only interested on watching info on this from only melanated people seeing as where runes come from only 1% is people are people of color. I would think if you care so much about info being ONLY from melanated people then you wouldn’t be interested in something that was created by white people?

You did a wonderful job educating us about runes. Don't listen to the feeble minded. They can't comprehend that every continent has ancient diversity even if it's on a small scale. I took have diverse ancestors, Celtic, Moroccan African and native American. When I call upon help or guidance I seek them all. Bravo to you. I hope you continue to teach us. The world is awakening and we need it ❤️

Your video is super thorough and has a lot of great information in it. I really enjoyed it. A word of warning though, I noticed you listed Edred Thorsson in your book list. While he does have a lot of knowledge on the runes he's involved in the AFA (asatru folk assembly) and they're a hate group. A lot of people do reference his work but the money from his sales goes straight to supporting the AFA and he's not a good person. Diana Paxson has a good book on the runes if you need a replacement.

I bookmarked a source somewhere of an experienced Celtic musician being surprised in his trips to Senegal how much a particular musical tradition there echoes his own. Most likely due to when a large multi-ethnic African presence showed up in Ireland (the "balor fomorians" for instance). Seems there was probably much more exchange of ideas and genes than were recorded in history... although, there are plenty of sunken towns and cities, no telling what records are deep below the sea : )
      Cheers fellow Celt

@@clinton5330 I think its safe to say that when people hear the word Druid they generally understand that it’s a title that denotes a person’s spiritualty.
The thing about most people living outside the United States is they can trace back their lineage for as far back as the eye can see. Our information was shared with distant relatives who were able to give us far more information about the people we share a bloodline with than could an online DNA company.
What is not generally know about the word Druid, by people such as yourself is that 1. they were NOT an religious cult, 2. the word Druid means way more than how one practices their faith.
While the Druids aren't a race of people, they are a class of the Gael people (which I clearly stated we were surprise to see that Gaelic was in our DNA). So when I say we are descents of Druids, I mean just that.
Perhaps, “How did you find out your ancient family were Druids?” would have been a better way to enter the conversation instead of assuming I didn’t know what I was talking about, or implying that I was lying.

@@Fournier46 I just looked up "balor fomorians" and they're mythical, not real. It doesn't look like there's any indication that they're African. I'm sure you'll find similarities between all musical traditions, but that doesn't mean there was a historical connection.
