I too just received a 2020 iPad Pro. Although the AR is very cute, the iPad Pro's form factor doesn't appear to me to be the most comfortable way to play these games. I may download 1 or 2 games just to experience the AR, but would much rather wait for an Apple headset or glasses.
Thanks. I just got my 2020 iPad Pro on Tuesday and I have been looking for games to play with. I have also been using it to be doing a lot of school. Shoot I’m even using the magic keyboard with smart connector and trackpad right now to type.🥳
I believe we can play these games on any phone or tablet but LIDAR just helps to have better edge and depth detection so that objects like "bird cage" actually adjusts its size when kept of a higher object vs a lower object. E.g table to ground. It's just to have a better user experience. But nothing die die thing to have.
@@FirstNameLastName-se1bz Lidar would permit real objects to be drawn in front of AR objects. None of those shown do that. Its just regular AR. Why isn't any of this available in our VR glasses? what is the hold up? :-)
AR won't really take off until it is strapped to your face. But will pass-through AR or see-through AR win out? Is it possible to create true opacity with see-through AR? Is it possible to position the camera images in pass-through AR so they look (for each eye) natural?
From what I’ve seen with all these brilliant minds in the world it is definitely possible. I can definitely see AR and VR being a part of our future in 5 - 10 years
Next time can you try the #1 AR game in the world: Pokémon Go, perhaps you heard of it? And perhaps let us know how it compares in performance to non-AR devices like iPhones and older iPads? Just an idea.
AR will only really ever work with BEZEL-LESS displays. wtf up with that boxed display? Apple have done really good with the sensor and AR, but the bezels kill the immersion completely.
I’m referring to this from my own iPad Pro camera. When using AR the camera is a bit fuzzy in darker spots. I’ve seen that being a big trend with Apple cameras.

rofl! Sure AR stuff/tech has been around for A LONG time. It matters which vendor implements it very well and with lots of quality apps/games and software support (5 years for apple products)

In your defense i will admit i have experienced best consumer grade vr and ar imo, so expectations right?, however higher standards are needed for advancement & i feel the video’s creators DID NO RESEARCH. He's shooting it with a camera that doesnt have a Locked Focus on the Ipad. Ipad Screen itself is clear and is not fuzzy. developer here

Sony Xperia have AR camera long before but Apple improbed it on much higher level, its much better here.
