I just bought one of these last week after watching several of your vids and others. HCI C6Z with factory ZR1 wheels and aero. Enjoying the car more than I imagined coming from Vipers. It is a much nicer car than expected fit and finish wise. Bonus it hauls ass and uses all of the 335 street tire. It might be the perfect daily/hotrod/sportscars out there.

it never occurred to me that these cars have a similar power/weight ratio as a 911 GT3. So glad I was able to pick up a C6 Z06, just started on my heads/cam build!
I absolutely love these C6Zs and am looking for a clean one right now. Even after all these years, that version of the C6 body style is timeless. It's great to see that platform still appreciated for what it was (and still is!) considering they can walk all over such higher-powered modern cars.

6.2 is pretty badd ass, but if you want the cubes bad enough have the 6.2 block sleeved out to a larger bore and run a stroker. You can make your own 427 or 441 or similar.
Shoot my little ol LS2 C6 with cam kit (Torquer V2 ) Tune and exhaust putting out 415 rwhp is a hand full for me . One day I'll upgrade and get a Z06 but until then I'm still having a blast. Such fun cars and a super bang for the buck !
It's sad I sold my 2008 Z06 Supercharged pushing around 700 hp. I do miss my 6spd manual, I wish I didn't sell bad mistake on my behalf. But I do own a 2017 C7 Z06 Supercharged, I wish I had a manual over a auto. Aloha from Hawaii

That 3rd to 4th is heaven in those c6s. Especially when they're tastefully modded. It's like my 4th to 5th but 3rd and 4th are so long in the gto's. I'll be getting mine back with a magnum-f transmission and I'm kind of dreading the slightly wider gear but with 500wheel. It should feel good. I just simply cannot wait to throw a 416 w/e85 on it this summer 🤙🏾😈 Shooting for 550+ n/a wheel with a bigger stage 4 cam.
I had a 510-530 rwhp(depends on the dyno) 5th gen camaro ss and it was a little heavier than the goats are. It was a tr6060, but it boogied pretty decently. On street tires it was capable of hi 11’s, but I could only get it to mid 12’s. I think I ran her at 12.3@119, but I don’t have the slip so it could be give or take 1/10th / 1mph

Roll with a c6 z making 600whp will destroy any of the 488’s , hurcans , aventadors and 911 turbos from a roll m. One the 911 turbo gets tuned and on meth or race gas and the lambos add turbos is where you will Need to add boost.

@@johncena-hq1ti I bought it already built in 2015 from Texas - no surprise. It's actually pretty moderate for a bolt-on/supercharger combo. I don't have a proper build sheet but there's definitely an aftermarket cam. The clutch feels pretty close to stock so it's very drivable even though there is a lot (A LOT) of stop-go traffic here in Florida. I'm running stock size tires so grip is definitely an issue under 40mph if I'm not careful. The dyno sheet from Texas Motor Speedway shows 691/620 at the wheels. Cheers.

LMR is representing Houston very well. Would y'all ever compare your builds to the growing VW Group V10 market? Would be neat to see if your builds turn out to last twice as long for the customers. They are twin turboing all of those VW Group factory motors with two or three times the factory horsepower.

can i get away with breaking in an engine by richening up the ve and leaving the narrow bands on? will the trims be able to control it? ill be watching the wb of course. i have it idling but i wanna get some pressure on the rings asap.
A million opinions but I for one do not like opening up engines if it can be avoided. I would get a Magnuson 2650 kit that can be upgraded later if you want more power. Returning the car to stock can be done in 1 day and they give you a 3 year warranty. (I think, not sure)
Steven do you guys ever take some of your previous customers cars on consignment to sell for them? If not, maybe another way to grow the businesses but also considering that it may have been a vehicle you’ve built, easier to sell considering your platform and following… also if you’ve built it, you have the history on it as well, which makes it more appealing to the future possible owners or those who may have interest that may not be able to afford a new one and build but may be able to afford a previously owned one that you personally built and took care of.
For a daily driver it works GREAT! I drive a Z daily with oem cam/eforce for a few years. Then recently went from the OEM LS7 cam to a Lingenfelter GT22 "boosted application" cam and the car feels less punchy. The oem cam has less lift thus reducing valvetrain stress too perhaps. The downside is that the oem cam falls off at max RPM's vs. a high performance cam. I made a good 670 to 680 rwhp safely with a mild setup with eforce and 3" pulley. 93 octane with straight alky, Oem manifolds and exhaust. 2 different shops 2 different dynos. Now, the car runs a safe tune 625rwhp with a supposedly better cam but I suppose for max horsepower a higher spec cam may be needed.
Thanks for another enjoyable vid. Would like to have a listen to that noise before teardown and a look at that lifter/cam. Maybe the cause and how to avoid. Then perhaps get into what is involved like cleaning out the oil tank etc. This same thing happened to my eforce C6z and I strongly believe that it was due to cold startup abuse by parking attendants revving the engine, start and drive in the same motion when cold. By cold I mean Winter, like a 10 degree day. I saw the guy start/drive my car in the same spirited motion and heard the ticking then it quieted down. (I scolded him but biden boy no care). By the time I got home 90 miles away it was loud lifter noise. $20k later back up and running. That head/cam package is truly a good way to go for the C6Z LS7 vs supercharger setup. If to do again I might just keep my LS7 NA.
I saw the ass end was dancing a bit, I found on my Z that the rear, outer toe links were worn. It’s common, I know you guys know what you are doing but maybe it’s worth a look for stability.
Wondering if there's any reason you guys don't install AFR gauges on most of the boosted builds ... or at least I haven't noticed any in the videos I've watched. Probably don't need one with a proper build/tune, so was just curious if there's any advantage to having one.

if your heads are milled and you're running higher compression you should pick up a good bit..

Since the LMR 800 package for the C7 Z06 is $13,000, I would guess it's pretty similar.
Because two tests come per box.
