You read off the credits for one singer as being in Toxic Audio. That’s the a cappella group Geoff was with before 4:2:Five (which became VoicePlay). Scott Porter was their original beat boxer (with Layne singing baritone). After Scott left to pursue acting, Geoff taught Layne to beatbox at the beginning. So you can find VoicePlay videos with Layne singing and some with Geoff beatboxing. Since Geoff and Layne do most of the arranging, they can pretty much do whatever they want since everyone is so versatile.

Just want to point out a Geoff and Tim swapping signature bass techniques, Geoff is known for his subharmonics (essentially singing one note in the mask and letting the vocal chords resonate in a way that drops the note an octave, sounds robotic and almost metallic) and Tim is known for his growl (an airy pure false cord sound, you get a growl when you clear your throat, its often used for background and bass drops by acapella bassists but Tim has such control over it he can blow out speakers and sing notes that sound like subwoofers with it) The two swapped techniques in this, with Tim hitting his only recorded subharmonic ever at an E1. Geoff uses growl plenty but he dropped a couple in the background of this song.

Home Free and VoicePlay on season four, PTX on season three and Peter Hollens and Adam Chance on season two with their former groups, On the Rocks and Street Corner Symphony. There was a lot of behind the scenes talent too. Home Free still works with the choreography director from the SingOff when they add new songs to their show.

Wasn't this fun???? All the acapella singers are quite friendly with each other. Some Home Free songs were arranged by outside artists. Love the bass battle.

The kids have lovely voices. I can’t wait to see how they develop vocally. It’s always great to see to see Tim and GEOFF together.
