This game was absolutely insane, I thought Florida was the best team in the SEC that year and the way they thrashed so many ranked teams and beat A&M at Kyle Field, I was certain that Florida would beat Louisville and I usually give the underdog a major benefit of the doubt. Cardinals and Teddy B came to play! Big East was the shit back then!

Back story about this game. Charlie Strong interviewed for the UF job when Meyer retired. Strong was the DC & AHC for Meyer. The players wanted Strong, but the boosters didn’t because he had a wife white allegedly. Strong beating them was everything for him.

The only reason they beat A&M is because A&M’s week 1 game was cancelled due to weather, and Florida was able to get a game under their belt.
